Please Provide Feedback on New Site Design

I'm not sure how to request this without seeming like I'm promoting the site. I really just want some feedback on the design as other Warriors have received in the past.

We changed the site from a one page sales letter, to more of a professional look with multiple tabs, etc. I think it works much better for the service we're offering.

Here it is: Traffic Sage - Website Promotion Made Easy!

Please don't buy anything or even look at the offer .

Thanks to TrafficSage founder Mike Ambrosio for his hard work and creativity.

It looks great. Very professional and to the point. I don't know how it was before but I liked the new look.

    Nice site. Well done.

It is clean. I like the white background. I have seen too many business websites that use dark background with white lettering and it strains the eyes.

I did not go through all of the data but at first glance the content quality appears very high. Your target audience will likely stick around to see what you can offer.

Hey Ron, I don't want to sound negative but I personally liked the other look better.

As a marketer, you guys touched on all of the hot selling points to me and appealed to my "scan and evaluate" sales page reading. I was able to quickly tell if you were offering what I was looking for.

This new look is kind of corporate and sterile.

If you're trying to appeal to the offline folks and give them a sense of security with the types of "business" designs that they are familiar with then I can understand it.

    Just my thoughts.

My thoughts exactly. It's very, very sterile.. and boring.

The headline? Blue on blue? The headline should stick out. Not blend with the background.

Also, grey text on a grey background? It's really annoying to read.

Yeah, I agree. I've been meaning to change that - especially the headline color.

I was just telling Ron - I actually purchased this template. I am FAR from a web designer

I am 100% open to suggestions here. While I am NOT looking to do a complete change (the site is very extensive...) I am open to improving it.

Any suggestions on the headline and text, etc.?

        Thanks!

I think it's very smart and professional looking. I can understand why some people have said it has a bit of a bland feeling, but I think it suits your offline, corporate taregt customers.

      Hi Matt,

Interestingly, one reason we decided on changing this is directly from feedback from MANY people on how the "one-page long form sales letter" we had looked bad. Mostly those types of comments came from people who are NOT in the IM niche. In fact, I had one person say the site looked like a scam BECAUSE of the other design

After the past 7 months of operation, our client base is less IM and more niche sites. Most of our inquiries from potential clients are also in other niches NOT IM.

In any event,we still have and promote the old site. It's just in a new folder ....com/ts

      Thanks for your feedback!

Now that I think of it, one of the things that drew me into the old site was when I saw your pics.

When I saw you and Ron on the page I was immediately interested because of the quality of the products that you produce and since I already knew that it would be a high quality product I looked at the bullets.

Funny how I was influenced in positive way because of who you are while someone that does not know you was turned off by the old page.

I think this should be added to our discussions about using pictures of ourselves in sales pages and as a reminder to constantly be testing.

tho the design can be improved I really like to see that some marketers are trying to go abit more web 2.0-ish and stuff.

You should do some MVT and see what goes better.

The copyright row is actually above the fold for me (I'm assuming it should go on the bottom of the page). It's under the header but it's cutting across the content, so some lines of text cannot be read.

    I'm using IE7...hang on....just checked in Firefox 2 and it's fine there.

Man, I HATE IE7. Having issues with this one. I didn't even notice the issue you pointed out.

Thanks for that. Will get that fixed.

    Hey Ron,

Been watching the sage for a while, I agree with the above replies, the older one grasped the main potential of your program better, however, I feel that the new site will prepare your solution with better business minded individuals that want to read individual pages and really learn the process.

Personally, I feel the blue banner is a bit weak on copy, and the images in the banner don't pull me into any concept of the site. However, this is from a "just landed" on the site perspective, obviously if I was on your list I would scroll down to read more.

Maybe a short line or two from a testimonial on the top right would work as well.

    Just some opinions...

Just to clarify - the 2 large images in the header are place holders. We are working on a video which will go there...

Headlines - yeah, I agree. I need to work on those.

      Thanks,

I like this for the headline... The site has a Corporate appearance and I would think the target audience would be more trusting of the service with this layout. Any chance that you may come back later to let us know how your split tests go on the layout change. I am curious as to how this will convert because I have never tried this type of layout to market products or services.

    Good point Matt.

And in case anyone still wants to look at our pics, they are on the new site under About Us...

    Edit: Found the IE7 issue...

Amazing what one little misplaced DIV tag will do to a page...

    Thanks Phnx!

      HI Ron,

Overall the new site design is good but I feel that certain elements could be improved.

      1. The home page is too busy. I think you need a highly visible statement touting your service followed by a couple of paragraphs of what you do and how you do it. Leave the details to an "our process" page or something similar.

      2. Add a video on the homepage that introduces the service and a video(s) on the process page explaining the process.

      3. The text is too light. A darker shade would help for readability.

        Thanks Kevin! Great feedback.

#1 - I have been playing with different ideas on this one, including LESS on the homepage (moving to the Services page). I will play around some more...

#2 - There will be a video (where the 2 images are in the header). Just not done yet.

#3 - Got a few comments on the text - time to make a change there

compared to any sales letter this site is 100% improvement. I would look at creating a stronger call to action above the fold of the landing page though.
