Looking for some feedback on my new site

Hi All,

I've almost ready to launch my new website and was hoping to get some feedback on, I hope this is the right forum for it.

I'm not entirely sure of the protocol for this stuff so I won't post the URL yet as it may be the norm to PM it to those who don't mind checking it out. If its cool to just post it let me know.

Thanks

Ally

Think my link is showing in my sig now anyway but would still appreciate the feedback. I had another thought, should this be moved to the web design section?

Hey man, I just checked your site. It is cool. If you can reduce the font size that will be more good. As well as, Instead of dark blue, if you can use some light color for background and some dark color (black is good) for text of the body, that will be more attractive. Hope it helps.

Thanks Amenda, I've been thinking about lightening the content areas as well,

I'm no expert so consider this with your own judgment:

1)First of all I see that you have almost 30 meta keywords, this is diluting the value of your important keywords, I would try to focus on the main 5 or so.

2)You have at least 6 images that don't have alternate text for people the don't have the ability to view images. I know that most people will have this capability but Google may count this as a strike against the site, just a thought.

    3)contact page has no keywords
about page has no keywords and
reviews page has no keywords or description

4)Your domain will expire in about 8 months, most people might not know this but Google looks at domains that are scheduled to expire within a year or less as a possible domain intended for spam or illegal acts. Just something I learned recently and it makes perfect sense, I think you would agree.

5)Try bookmarking some of your pages, dig reddit and so on.

Other than that for blog as fresh as your, I think it's pretty Great. Keep up the good work, your on the right track. I hope I helped, as I said I'm no expert just thought I had some good insight to share.

      Everyone thanks, some great comments!

WealthyClark - A big thanks to you, that was great, I honestly had no idea about the google thing! I'm still learning my way around SEO so the keywords bit was of great use. I had made a mental note of the alt texts before but seems I lost that note

I'm almost there with my startup content, think probably a how-to article is needed and then comes the marketing of the site with bookmarking etc. My initial thoughts are to make sure its up to scratch before doing this, what are everyones thoughts is it a case of I'm going along the right lines or should I just be getting the link out there. My fear is that if everything is not perfect, or as near to as possible, early visitors may be put off and not come back.

How did you know that this site would expire in 8 months?

I think if you play around with color schemes a bit, you might find a better "feel".
For someone who just started, it's a VERY good effort.

You might want to give your content areas a lighter background. Maybe very light and making the text black? Amenda Jessera also mentioned this.

You may want to check out this color scheme website:
    ColorSchemer | Instant Color Schemes

Those colors in the schemes go very well with each other. Maybe you can try a few of the schemes on your website.

I have to agree with RGallowitz that you need to change some of the color of your site but all in all a very good job. Well done!

    Hey Alley, good job.

Have you actually made any money with the things you are reviewing? Your readers will wonder.

Caught a couple of minor typos (And now warrior Paul Myers will throw Mrs. Wombat at me, but that's okay 'cuz I'm a lot older than Paul, and he has to respect his elders.)

Only Paul can explain Mrs. Wombat.

    Typos:

    internet markers
    should be "internet marketers"

    the CBP team provide you
Team is a collective singular (in American English - maybe not in "real" English),
so it should read "the CBP team provides you"

    Being involved making money online
is probably "Being involved in making money online"

Thanks guys, i'm going to seriously take a look at the colour scheme, I like the blues but maybe I can lighten it up a bit.

Typos @ Don - Thanks for that I'll have to go it again with a fine toothed comb. Regarding users asking if I've made money with the reviews, with all but the clickbank pirate as i didn't have the time but I've noted this in the review.

Think I've got a busy few days ahead getting things up to scratch!

    Hi Ally,

I actualy liked some of the colour schemes you have going on. I found them pleasing on the eye and the white (I assume it's arial?) text is very easy to read.

The only colour issue I have and it's a major one is your blog title. This is probably the first thing a new arrival at your site will see - it's the first thing I saw. Fresh Biz Opps is a cool title but the design and colour of the graphics for this title in my opinion are very uncool.

I'm no guru when it comes to colour selection but I know what I like. I think you should lose the yellow and replace it with a colour that goes well with black and blue, like for example brown.

As for the domain name I agree with WealthyClark it maybe an idea to purchase an extra year or two on your domain name. If this blog is going to be the epicentre of your online business for years to come then does it not make sense to own the domain for a little longer than 1 year?

Concerning your choice of keywords you are in a very, very competitive market. There are many, many other blogs that have been going for years and have accrued enormous amounts of backlinks that Google and other search engines have looked upon very favourably.

Maybe rethink and redo your keyword strategy, try some longtailed stuff prefaced by how to... how do I... etc. With longtail keywords you are almost guaranteeing a targeted audience for your site, plus there's a lot less competition.

Overall though a very nice site - keep up the good work!

    Just my two pence worth..

Hope it helps in some way.

    Best of luck to you.

    Garry.

    Hey Ally,

Very good effort. Besides some tips already mentioned in the threads above, I would recommend making the site a bit "lighter" right now it has kind of a heavy feel to it just based on the color scheme you have going on for it.

I like the blues. I think, from my perspective, that the only thing that should change is the royal blue color of the hyperlinks. Those are hard to read within the scheme of the darker blue background. I'd go for an off yellow or something that contrasts a little better. Now, that could just be because of my old eyes... I liked the color scheme, but maybe everyone else here is right and you should play around with it. Seems to be the majority opinion.

Nice job. If I was just surfing around, I'd probably stay and read a while.
