Can writing a book wich ends up beeing an amazon bestseller be enough so that clients search you and not ask for your portfolio will it position you so much and make you look like such an expert that people are gonna say yeah this is the guy i wan`t to work with and i`ll pay him good.
Or will they ask you about with who have you worked for i would like to check with them

It depends on what you do. In my business having a best selling book won't be enough. I will be always asked to show my portfolio..

probably not. a portfolio is a portfolio. Anyone can write a book and in an obscure niche be a top seller

In general it'll be an up hill struggle to position yourself as an expert if you can't give examples or testimonials.

You could show expert status if you draw on other people's work and writing but this requires an extensive understanding of the subject matter. You see this method used in science and social sciences.

If you have this expertise then you elevate your position but you will still likely struggle to transition these to clients without being to demonstrate real world application of the theories.

There are some areas where it could be possible and understandable that you wouldn't have portfolios or testimonials.

In truth don't worry about the best seller tag for most business books it's virtually useless. It's far more important your books are placed in the right hands than the simply placed in lots of people's hands.

Most bestseller lists can be manipulated and on Amazon it's possible to be a bestseller with one sale.

Even the NYT bestseller list can be bought (if you are in the right genre it's worth doing as it can help sales spiral).

You will get a longer shelf life on Amazon if you research how there algorithms work and base your book launch on triggering the Amazon machine.

This longevity is more important than a shiny orange badge.
