Help... not convinced you can make $20 a day

Hi guys, I'm a newbie on this forum and I have a favour to ask.
The thing is that I am not convinced that I can make let's say 20$ a day.
For some reason I am too skeptical probably because of a fact that I've never done something like this.
So would you suggest or show me the way how to earn first 10-20 bucks so I can convince myself that this works.

I know a lot of you guys are obviously here because you are making money, but I'm kinda stuck in disbelief.
Would you help me in form of advice I'd appreciate it.

Thank You.

  • These days freelancing can be a nifty way to start an online side hustle.

Can you write code? Write stories? Can you design Kindle books, banners, or cool blog post graphics? Can you write non-fiction content? Or maybe offer some virtual assistance, data-entry, or customer service??

My favorite side hustle is freelance writing! If you love to write, then consider this as an avenue.

It's not the most glorious thing on the planet, however, you can simply begin by creating an outsourcing profile on Upwork, and on Fiverr, and then start hustling to promote your gigs there.

If you don't have any experience writing, then it's as easy as starting a free blog on any of the platforms that allow you to get setup in the next 5 minutes. Tumblr, WordPress, Blogger, Steemit, and Medium are all cool places. You can use this to express your own writing talents, and to also use it as a portfolio for prospective clients.

I've completed a boatload of writing gigs on Fiverr.com myself, and it can be slightly depressing writing oodles of content for someone else, however, can also grant you the confidence required to begin writing content for your own business.

As always, I truly wish you the best, and hope that your dreams may one day come true.

    • very good idea
    • Nice idea,
You also can create an account at Freelancer to promote your freelance jobs, it's a well known site for freelancer around the internet.

  • You've never done something like...what? Make money online in general?

There are so many options on how to pusue.

I have personally been promoting PPL(pay per lead...lead generation) offers for a little over 17 years. This is because there is no credit card / purchase is required for a user to complete an offer. All anyone has to do is fill out a form (requesting more info on X). So conversion rates tend to be much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

Some of the niches I have done extremely wee with are: education, insurance, loans, credit, debt, mortgage, discount offers, homeowner offers, dating, etc...

Bottom line, it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

    Something to think about

    Are you kidding me???

$20 dollars a day??? That's nothing, you could make that on Fiverr if you wanted to. Certainly you can make 100x that a day. There are so many people that are internet millionaires.

So here's a little secret (lean in on this...), as long as you believe you can't make money, then you won't make money. As soon as you change your belief system this will start turning around for you.

Watch this YouTube video every day for the next 30 days...if you miss a day you must start over again. This will totally change your mindset:

    • He wants help to make some money online not a lot just something to get by , not some make believe video!
      • [ 3 ] Thanks
    • THAT ... that right there. Listen to that and take it to heart.

Making money starts with acknowledging that money is everywhere and flowing all around you.
      • [ 2 ] Thanks
    • Try to post a couple of gigs on Fiverr today and leave them there without any promoting and let's see how you do... I bet you will get 0 orders. 20$ a day consistently every month is not nothing. That's a lot when you are starting out.
Even if you have useful skills, understanding how to make money and how everything works in the world of internet takes time. Can you make 20$ a day in your first month? Yes, you can but it won't be as easy as you described. especially the first month.

The power of mind... Sureeee man!

That Youtube video is a 1 Hour and 40 minutes video and watching it for a day for the next 30 days would make the OP loose almost a full working week making him waste valuable time that he could spend doing something else.

Personally watching the first 2.5 minutes was enough for me.
      • [ 3 ] Thanks
    • Uhm.... let's stop feeding people this line. They're NOT a lot of people doing this stuff that are millionaires. Period !!
      • [ 3 ] Thanks
    • If you want to become an Internet millionaire, its ok, but can you accomplish something what our predecessors couldn't? In all likelihood, you'll never achieve great things without facing tough obstacles, crashing and burning, and finally rising up from the ashes. It's a very tough and arduous road ahead despite what it appears.

In short, it takes quite bit of creative problem solving and some relatively complex strategies to make it in the Internet.

  • It's not the amount that is the issue. It's the process. It doesn't matter what ... $20 or $200.

What you need to be asking is what marketing skills would I need to learn, how much effort will I need to be putting consistently and how much time should I be devoting in the long term?

    • Rory has a pretty damn good point. I've noticed a lot of cats are talking about writing for money. If you CAN write, and you just want to "make money," that's a good place to start. But, six months from now, prepare to be up to your neck in "work," and no closer to building a passive, scalable income.

Again, it's not how much you make. It's HOW you make it. If you can write, and if you have a day job, keep it. Put up a blog and start building an audience. Write a little in the evenings and a lot on weekends. Write about something you actually know about and give a damn about.

Don't try to create a product. Your audience and your list is the most important thing. So focus on that. Put up some affiliate ads and let someone else worry about handling customers and fulfillment. Once you've seen how other people's products convert with your list, you'll have a damn good idea about what kind of product to create.

And if you've got a responsive blog, an engaged list and a few signature products that convert, you'll do fine. But don't be in a hurry and take shortcuts to work for $4 an hour cranking out articles. It'll be exciting at first. But trust me, after six months of this...

      "In this article, you'll discover..."

...for eight hours a day, you'll be ready to throw your lap top in the river and go club baby seals for a living.

    • I wholly agree with you there. Quality over quantity is key.
  • The first step is believing you can. If you don't believe it, it will never happen.

There are so many successful people on here I think you should know that if they can do it, you can too.

Just keep reading on here, read blogs and other sites. Once you get enough information then start taking action.
    • [ 3 ] Thanks
  • There's a period that ALL successful people go through.

    It's called the dip.

It's the point when you feel like giving up. And everyone experiences it.

In order to push through the dip, you need BELEIF.

If you don't have belief to begin with, then you're not going to have it when you really need it during that period.

Hope you find something that works for you.
    • [ 4 ] Thanks
  • You first commission is always the toughest, but there are so many opportunities out there to make money that 20 bucks is super doable.

Depending on the model you could make thousands in a day, maybe not every day, but you can scale your business to make that happen.

I completely understand that feeling of earning that first commission, it's what makes this online thing real, the key thing is to learn the systems behind making money online.

Once you do that, it's just a matter of repetition to keep scaling up your income, there's plenty of people in here who could help you with that system, just find one that resonates with you and commit to it until you make it happen.

  • Hey man I'm in the same boat, trying to make my first profit. I sold some merch through a dropshipping store but not nearly enough to cover the overhead and advertising costs. Still, I believe it could be a pretty good way to make money online once you get the hang of it - and way more than $20.

I'm now pivoting to develop an online subscription-based course in something that I already have experience in. I'm pretty excited about it and am confident it will ultimately make a handy chunk of change. I'll keep you posted about it if you're interested to see how it works out.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Thank you guys. Exactly what I wanted. Exactly what I was hoping to see.
This make believe thing is obviously essential, need to work on it a bit more. I'll keep looking, searching, finding my place in it, till the moment where taking action is gonna feel like the next logical step.
I'M IN IT TO WIN IT ANYWAY

And special thanks for not being negative and for supporting me.

All of your advices were helpful.

    Let's take this ride.
    • [1] reply
    • Hey man if I could offer one suggestion it would be to not wait. Don't wait until you feel like it's the right time and don't wait until it feels 'logical' to take action. Just take action, right now. Whatever happens, you learn from it and keep driving forwards.

This is the difference between a successful entrepreneur and the other 95% of the population who sit around wishing and whining for the right time and the right opportunities.

There is no right time, there are no 'right' opportunities. You have to write down your goal(s) and take immediate, massive action. Then understand that everything will go wrong and you'll have to solve a bunch of problems to achieve the goal.

Also, don't put much faith in anyone's advice until you confirm that they have been successful in what you are trying to achieve.

Look... this may not be for you... it really isn't for

  • I would say be willing to go the micro-job route. You can find a list of such sites by using Google or the search function on this forum. The only issue is you have to work really hard in order to earn that amount. It might not be worth it, but if you really want this small amount micro-job sites are the way to go.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I am not making money at the moment online but I can sure tell you that money isn't your primary issue based on what you are saying. You have to learn and apply skillsets ,without having the skillset it is very unlikely that you will make a dime.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply
    • I am aware of that fact and I am more than willing to learn any set required. But I am obviously a beginner at this and overwhelmed with the amount of information out there. It seems that I need to dose these information or something in order to stay focused on a certain topic... in a sense not going too general.

What do you suggest me in terms of, let's say, writing blogs, translating multiple languages etc.?
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • OK let's take a step back and look at this as a system.

Whether you're doing this online or offline, it doesn't matter: the elements needed are the same. All that changes are the platforms you do the things on.

No matter what, you need Traffic and Conversion.

So let's say you go get a job.

You're a conventional job seeker, so you look at Want Ads. You find these in your local newspaper as well as on the sites like Craigslist and Monster. That's Traffic. Every Want Ad and you applying to it is a lead, which is how we measure traffic.

Now in the job hunting field we actually have two pieces of Conversion. The first is your resume. The employers have to screen your resume and see if they want to meet you in person. That's the first sale, or conversion, that has to happen. The second piece is your performance in the interview: if they like you the most, they hire you. That's the sale here and the ultimate conversion we're looking for.

Traffic and Conversion working together are called a funnel. In the employment arena you only have to make this funnel work one time and it pays off considerably.

In the offline space, you could use direct mail as your platform. Say you're a restaurant owner. So you send postcards to 10,000 people in your local area with a call to action (a discount, a BOGO meal deal, whatever). That's your traffic. Out of those 10K people some are going to show up and you can track that the reason they came was because of the postcard offer. Those are the conversions. Your restaurant makes revenue from those conversions: the guests buy meals and drinks and the average conversion is worth so much.

Online it's not much different. You can get traffic organically (which requires slow, continuous effort on your part) or pay for it. Nothing is guaranteed about the quality of said traffic. Different traffic sources will have different quality levels, by which I mean a match-up between what they want and your offer. Generally speaking, the better the match-up, the more your cost per lead.

So you can pay Google or Bing or Facebook for leads, or rent a spot for an ad in someone's newsletter (sounds pretty targeted, right?), or run a banner ad on a website or a forum. Some people will see that ad and a few of them will click on it. That's your traffic.

When they click they'll be taken to your conversion tool. Could be a sales letter, or a video sales letter (VSL), or an appointment booking app for a discovery call, or even a transfer to a live call center immediately. Then it's up to the conversion tool to make the sale.

Of course this can get more elaborate. You can run ads to an opt-in for a warm-up email series, share some videos with the leads, give them a pdf book or report. You can run a webinar to pre-sell them and then have those still interested book a call, or sell them straight from webinar to buy button. Options are many. But that above is the gist of the thing.

When you think about pricing, think about how much it costs you to get a customer. That's called "cost of customer acquisition." Your sale price has to cover CCA plus a profit or you'll go out of business. Sounds simple...a lot of beginners don't think about it. Set a specific revenue target and build to your activity level. Don't try to "make as much money as I can"--that's a fool's errand. It's no target at all and a mind without a specific target won't perform well.

Start thinking in terms of traffic and conversion. You go to a freelance site and what do you find there? People posting Want Ads for someone to do work for them. But you're not alone: there are many similar service providers there and that has the result of driving prices down. Higher traffic, lower conversion. If in contrast you went and started finding your own clients, you would appear by yourself, a category of one, and you could charge more. Lower traffic, but higher conversion. This is positioning, marketing, and choices of how your funnel works. Behind all the christmas tree ornaments, though, the essence of the thing is the same.

Don't get caught up in trying to find someone to tell you the magic bullet of what to offer. Find a hungry market, and serve it. Traffic and conversion.
    • [ 5 ] Thanks
  • You need a brain reprogramming. You can't doubt yourself. Believe in yourself, and use practical knowledge. Get started, throw yourself into woods amongst the wolves, and learn how to survive. If you want an easy way to make money, sell something around your house on ebay. You can make a killing there too - no business degree required. Nor business knowledge.

  • What is your skill that you are good at? And yes, you can easily make $20 a day and thousands more in the right profession that is needed by people. If it is a skill, product, service that is in demand then it will sell. I generate thousands a month now but i have taken 7+ years to build it up online as a trusted entity nowadays and all online.

If you are in it for a quick fix or one time thing then its not going to work, you need to build a trusted brand online and off.

    David.

  • It is impossible to succeed making 5 cents online if you are full of doubt, and it gets easier and easier to make money online if you have clarity in what you are doing, if you are detached from outcomes, and if you are online mainly to solve a pressing problem with some skill you are passionate about.

With your doubt/skeptical energy, get a job offline that pays $20 or more a day. Then when you boost your savings, you can begin an online business from an intelligent, passionate, more detached, clearer and more effective space.

    • Hi Devilfis16B. It is quite simple if you like to make $20 a day. First of all, you got to find the right niche products via affiliate programs or your own products. Next, you need to have an online business system and then you have to drive traffic (marketing) your products.

Honestly, I am new too in this business but after sometime now (6 months), I am quite ok in online business. However, if you need a step by step on how you can generate income from online business, go to find some proven software.

Well Alangile. Not everyone in this world are born genius. We have to start from somewhere and never afraid to fail. Personally, i have failed countless times and I keep trying without loss of enthusiasm. That's the way to go if you one to succeed. Important thing is, keeping finding out where have you gone wrong and correct it. Ask people and that's why we have such forum here. Keep moving and don't stop until you get enough.

Hi keno9. I am not convinced myself when I first started 6 months ago. Once i secured my first sales, I believed that it is very possible. Important thing is you need the right coach, software and strategy to market your products.

Of course, prior to that you need to do your market search for the right niche products that people are looking for. A lot of hard work though.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • How about this. Look for restaurants that have online delivery service. Now look on your phone to see if they are using the facebook online ordering service. If not, contact them and offer to get them set up with it. Facebook online ordering can give restaurants a 20% increase in online orders.

Charge something up front plus a monthly maintenance fee.

Basically, if you want to make money online it's about DOING SOMETHING.

Instead of being "skeptical" ... trying taking action. Instead of wondering if you can, take actions so that you can.

Thanks grammie. Your thoughts and ideas are pretty interesting especially TAKE ACTION. I totally agreed without taking action, the rest are pure dream. Nothing would happen.

But before that, make sure you have the right system, coach and ideas of what you want to do and achieve. Good luck.

      Thanks Sam1996.

It's really great to make $600 a day. But that sound too far fetch. I still believe that you need to learn online business from the right coach.

Hi Kyle. First you need to find the niche products that you interest most. Then with some software, you need to create a squeeze page and links to the products that you want to sell.

To get customers, you have two choices ie Paid Traffic and Free Traffic. Both types works provided you know the right way of doing it.

Agreed Charle. In fact you can try anything as long as you are good at it. Even recommendation and promotion in Facebook can help you to earn some decent income.

Thanks Ryan. Your advise is very motivating. I did just that and I am in online business for sometime now. Making some money and keep going forward.

      Well said.

Yeap quality and quantity are the key. However, make sure you have the right online system to help to execute is properly and smoothly.

Yes Randall. Your advise is very interesting. But I don't think it works unfortunately. By the way, have you try is yourself by selling something around your house on eBay? If not, you try out first and see the results for yourself.

Hi TMacD. You have the right attitude. I wish you all the best but don't forget to get the right coach to guide you. Reason is simple, don't make the same mistakes he has made. Improve your learning curve, you need to pay tuition fees. No free lunch unfortunately.

Yeap. Keep doing what you truly believed. One day it would happen the way you want it. Good luck.

Thanks Jason for your great advise. This is exactly what I am doing right now.

All the best Bro. See you at the top in online business one day. Keep it up.

Well said Jamel. Learn from the right coach, invest in some good software and learn from there. Remember always start with One and stay FOCUS.

      Follow One Course Until Successful.

Thanks pheonix. Hard work is irreplaceable. Totally agreed.

Hi Maxxx333. If you can write well, then focus on writing. If you can speak well, focus on speaking. In short, just keep doing what are you good at and enjoy life. That's it.

Yeap. Just focus what you are doing well and keep doing. One day, you would be noticed.

      Thanks Jason.

I did the same for sometime now but please be mindful that not every time you can get some sales. You got to be patient and consistent.

Yes Devilfish. Your are right. May I suggest you invest in a Mentor who can guide and coach you because there are too many softwares out there and everyone claim they are the best. You got to be extra careful.
  • It's possible to make $20 a day online and even more. What are your skills and interests?

  • There are a ton of ways to make 20 a day online,

But, there is only one thing that matters.

    What do you like doing?

Like others have said, if you like writing you can try freelancing--people was almost always need this service, so you do need to worry about it going away anytime soon.

If you do like to write, you can also start a blog on your hobby--now you make money off this various ways-adsense is one, sure, it does not pay what it used to, but, it is a start.

You can, and should, recommend products, on the blog--and make commissions off them.

Do not like this idea, then make videos where you review products.

Have some skills as an artist, then, once again as others have said, make banners, kindle covers, etc.

With the above said, do this.

Pick the one method you know will do and stick with it for say one-hundred days.

For this one hundred days, do something to get to 20 a day--everyday.

It does not need to be a lot-but do something everyday,

Be it a blog post, a social media post, or video, etc.

Whatever you do--do not give up!

    Hope this Helps.

You are asking the most basic question There is nothing new in this. If you will do a little search on the forum you will Find many have already Asked it, but in different form. Like How I make 20$ in a Day.

To Answer you will have to clarify more about your skill set. As many have answered there are lots of things to do. You need to find the one thing you are in good at.
Go to fiver And look at the categories , Try to fit in any one of them. If you got issues in that post again here. Internet is always there to help you out.

  • Programs, can be affiliate or MLM and yes free member does earn is more than 20bucks

blogging etc have to build , More times to establish it , how to earn? that is from Adsense etc " but now a days is pathetic earning from Adsense " Now you seriously need huge number of visitors , viewers....

Or more complex one is build your own marketing products " Really need mentor , money, to invest etc but the return is massive , next you have army of people promoting for your products due to commissions "
    • [1] reply
    • Yup, but one thing for sure is " try and error "
I can get " fake reviews come in claim my stuffs works etc

      if know what I mean.

So basically we all just try and error and scale down to ONLY those can workable.
  • Pssssst hey...

    ...over here...

...this is how you make $20/day:

You buy leads at say 30 cents each and a total of $20/day. That's 66 leads and you convert just one on an offer (that's 1.5% conversion; you should be able to get to that, right? I mean, you have time to figure out how to get targeted traffic) that has a $40 price tag.

    $40 revenue - $20 cost of customer acquisition = $20 margin.

That's it. That's all people are doing. Over and over again, increasing the scale.

Yes, they have different CCAs, LTVs, conversion %ages--better learn that marketer lingo!--but that's big secret.

  • why are you in disbelief?

When you put money into a vending machine do you think it gets sucked into a blackhole?

some one is passively collecting your 80 cents and the 80 cents of dozens of other people everyday.

    its the same thing online.

    • Hi Aizaku. It is not a matter of disbelief. It is totally different when you put money in the wending machine because you are buying something you are sure off. In online marketing, you yet to see what is inside and then again, people compare from one to another.

That's why I said you got to be patient as you need to build trust in online business. Hope I have clarified.
    • Passively? Who ordered the supplies, drove them to the machine, filled the machine, wiped the machine clean and then trekked on to the next machine?

I am a forex trader, those who want to earn money via online platform I will say why not you try forex. Forex market has numerous opportunities for all.
  • I'm not going to say that there are a lot of people who have made over a million dollars from the Internet, but there are enough to keep the fantasy alive.

The trick is, most of the ones I've noticed are the "catching lightning in a bottle" successes that no one could have predicted beforehand. Kind of like setting out to make "viral" videos. Despite what the sellers of tools and courses say, "going viral" seems to be a semi-random thing.

Fortunately, OP, you have more modest goals.

$20/day is reasonable for a pure beginner. There are several ways to get there.

You could go the Fiverr/Upwork/Freelancer route. At Fiverr, you'll net $4 per gig, so you need to complete 5 gigs per day, every day, to meet your goal.

If you learn something like blog installs, you can easily charge $25 per install. If you consider a five day work week, you only need 4 installs per week. Do one a day, and you start building a cushion against the weeks you don't get your four installs.

Find something that someone will pay you $100 to do, and you only need one sale a week. Something someone will pay you $600 for (like a month of social media management and posting), and you only need one customer per month.

Making money, online or off, isn't complicated. You just need to figure out what you have to trade for your customer/client's money. After that, the devil's in the details. But you don't get anywhere starting with sweating the details. Find your offer and your market first.

    • Yeah similar to the woman who bought Coca cola back in the 1950s and now she is a stock investing wizard.

You're exactly right ( as usual lol). There are many people who maybe had some luck or got in just at the right time...and now they are gooroos who people should listen to and buy from

  • you need a course, on im marketing, then you will know the path to take, if you decide to take that path, only then will you know if this is for you, only one percent of im marketers make money, the rest never even try, they just read stuff, just know this, this is a real business, that is why you have the mind set that it wont work, because someone told you it was easy and now you know it is hard,

  • I've found a way, but my way may not be for you. I've failed at so many different ways I can't even remember all of them. Just pick a way and hang in there. You can find out my way here

  • Its seems absurd but people who made money and do make money online or otherwise do not have negative thinking. All of them are positive thinkers and that makes a lot of difference

If you think you can then you will find ways

If you think you cannot then all the ways will be useless to you

There are millions of ways to make money online

people fail to make a cent on fiverr

some guys makes tons of money by selling cheap 5 $ products

Basic foundation must be strong first

Your mindset is the basic foundation

  • I was a person who was stuck in same boat for years. But Overall i can say nothing is better than starting with complete "Done For You" Kinda system which can help you start earning few quick bucks with you putting in 20% effort rest 80% let the system do what its suppose to do. Once you have enough money then you reinvest in different mentorship programs by knowing what exactly you are passionate about.

  • Well I am new in this beautiful online marketing industry, literally started this year Jan. I too was beginning to feel like making money online was an illusion that can b performed by the internet gurus.

I have no particular skills like writing (probably you can tell by this comment huh, lol) and stuff or technical software or hardware skills except for average persons ability to surf the net. So, searched for way and means o make money online without spending(or with no money at ALL) and without any special skills.

Well I have made $7 to date and I made it by feeling out surveys. This is a recent thing and man did it re-ignite my belief that I can make money online.

My target is to make $100. I don't know how long will this take me, which makes it interesting and exciting(like solving a mystery) but once done, I intend to turn it into a course and sell it!

    Hope this helps.
  • There is your problem right there. If you don't believe that you can make $20 a day then you probably won't. If that is your daily goal, then you have to change your mindset.

Before you do anything, my biggest suggestion is to start by reading the book THINK AND GROW RICH by Napoleon Hill.

Go right now and grab it in your local area bookstore or online through Amazon.

Read it and don't do anything online yet.

Reading this book will change things for you in a big way.
