How To Get The Ball Rollin?

Hi!

I've been reading this forum for about 6 months now and I got to this stage:

1. I've got my product (ebook)
2. Got affiliate script behind it (7DSS with 100% commission)
3. Got web site, sales letter and AR series written (for buyers)
4. Will sell Reprint Rights soon...

I have no list and little to no traffic. It's totally new site.

Now, I'm stuck at how to get this thing started?

How do I get affiliates to know about my affiliate program so they can start promoting my ebook?

Thank you,
Damir

now is where the "marketing" in Internet Marketing comes into play!

You need to find a good guide on Traffic Generation and on affiliate marketing and implement all the steps.

I would strongly suggest getting an autoresponder account, setting up landing/squeeze pages and begin driving traffic to your pages.

Why do you need to learn affiliate marketing? Because if you do not have affiliates or JV partners, then YOU need to be your own best top affiliate and YOU need to market and sell your product.

Once it is selling and your sales process is working, you can put up an "affiliate tools" page and tell affiliates exactly how YOU are marketing your product and give them instructions and tools to market it as well.

    Good luck!

Find your audience and interact with them.

Use twitter as an example. Assuming your audience is in a particular niche you can use the search functions in seesmic etc to find those people.

DON'T spam them your urls just chat with them. Keep your url in your profile but never send it out.

I find people do most things backwards these days. They build a product then go find traffic. It needs to be the other way around.

    1. Find your audience
    2. Interact with them and ask questions
    3. Design a product that suits them
    4. Sell it.

Also I would make sure your "product" is something you have knowledge about. I talk to so many people sho create products in a niche they have no business in.

    Just some general advice

      Thanks for the info!

So basic line on how to start new site going is "lead by example"? Like said, by being my own best affiliate and promotor?

Another quick question... I've read Allen's books and he's heavy on free ebook marketing and ezine blasts for getting new site going.

Since those books are almost 10 years old, are this techniques still applicable?

      Again, thanks for your time!

    Thank you.

One important piece of advice I would give is to NEVER ask questions on forums about subjects you claim to be an expert in. For example, if somebody comes across your site and decides to check you out by searching in google, they might come across this thread, where you are asking questions about the very subject you claim to be an expert in. This would almost certainly put off potential customers.

Regarding your question, check out Kickstart by Tony Shepherd and Sara Brown - they offer step-by-step advice on getting your business up and running.

    Great point by John Burton.

I am at a similar point where I need targeted traffic. I've learned a bit about traffic in the forum a traffic guide would be helpful. Any recommendations?

    Thanks,
