Remembering yesteryear 9 years ago and how "Make Money Online" Keyphrase was Everyday Conversation..

Yeah, I remember when I started this stuff back in 2008 and 2009 it seemed like nearly everyday somewhere, some place ( including here) the hot topic talk seemed to be about who was dominating Google Search for KY phrase " Make Money Online"

Chow was there for awhile and I remember a cat from Asia who dominated for a number of years with his Blogspot (his name was Albert ???) Only to find it got deleted by the Big G one fateful day (and a horrific one for him at least).

Griz was up there for quite awhile with his Adsense Site ( topping out at $25K mo. with clicks alone). And ole Shoemoney could be found there many a months too

I guess after a lot of the algo changes with Google and the unpredictability of it all, in some respects it has been less relevant as far as securing that spot (not completely of course)

Now I see where Lifehack. org is on there frequently as well as pennyhoarder. com and wwwscottalanturner. com.

Followed by a few Survey sites like Opinionoutpost. com, Vindaleresearch. com, and globaltestmarket. com

Looks like Paid ads are securing the top spots on the left and no longer on the right.
Uhmm.... interesting.

Anyway, the years have sure gone by quick. And things have changed ...
just as they always do

Have they ever changed. Interesting to see the progression. I saw Shoe Money with Zac Johnson and John Chow in NYC at Affiliate Marketing East a few months ago. Neat to see all of them in person; Zac for the 2nd time as we had lunch in NJ a while back.

Some successful people with that group. Shoemoney ( Jeremy Schoemaker) has been in some controversy over the years. I think a little bit brought on by his own self; purposeful done maybe ?? Imo, he got into a little bit of the seedy part of IM with the photos of scantily dressed girls etc..etc.. Just kind of weird

What I like about the guy is how he started outside IM and built a legitimate business that had nothing to do with teaching people how to make money online.

Look at how many people start sites that teach people how to be successful in XYZ, but have never achieved success for themselves. Blind leading the blind.

I credit Shoemoney for being real, when a lot in this industry aren't.

Yes, Google wants you to pay to play these days. While you can still get first page ranking with proper SEO, the paid ads will always be on top. The paid ads will certainly get the most attention, but there is so much traffic on Google you can still get a ton of crumbs!

I think the best part of that time was the software available to us marketers where you could just up load everything like videos and articles, just set and forget a true one button push and you made money
