I Captured The Whale That Could Potentially Fund My Business

Hello again, WF

So, taking your advice from the post answers I received on my last thread - "Go for the big fish, not the small businesses in town".

Well, I didn't use a fishing rod, I used a damn spear and caught a whale ...
Needless to say, this man wants to personally fly me to his business, create sales funnels and workflow automation.

The best part is - I actually know how to do this stuff! I've done it on smaller scale hundreds of times! ...But for dirt cheap as well.

Here's the problem ... I don't know what to charge. I've read Russel Brunson's books, I know he charges $1M> for his funnels, but I'm not Russel (yet).
What is a good amount of money for creating a full sized funnel with workflow automation for a company that can and is willing to pay?

Thanks in advance!

Without discussing cost? How does that work?

Would it be more realistic to say you have a nibble that could wriggle off the hook when you quote a price?

Until you have worked out all the details and have a signed contract, you haven't landed anything.

What Brent has written is 100% right , you need to get a signed contract first

There are 3 ways to discuss cost , most important is to get half up front before you start!

1 find out the budget and come in 10% lower

      2 Charge by the hour

3 Tell you can do it for ( X)

One thing to remember good to land a whale just be careful it is not like Mobey Dick or you will have a world of pain

    Planning a Sales Funnel Workflow

So the first thing you want to do is you want to have a strategy call.

If you are the client, you want to have a strategy call with your team.

If you are a marketing agency, you want to have a call with your client.

You want to map everything out, make sure that the flow is all that you want. You're all in agreement on the campaign objectives and what's going to be sold in the funnel. So that's the first thing.

The second thing that you want to do is you want to collect all the brand assets. You want to have an agreed upon. What fonts are we going to use, what colors are we going to use, what logos do we need for what products, you know, basically get all the brand assets together because you're going to need them for the pages, the order forms, the ads, everything.

This sounds like he wants you to come on site to accomplish the entire project.

A better arrangement would be to fly in, spec out the deliverables (in detail), and then fly back home to do the actual development.

Everything is web-based so you should be able to do the actual development work remotely. Create an initial prototype (based on the original written spec), and then invite customer feedback for modifications.

Get a signed contract before setting foot on the plane.
Charge $500/day (minimum) + expenses (i.e. your airfare, hotel, meals etc.) - up to $1000/day + expenses.

Do NOT charge hourly, and be prepared to put in the occasional 12 hour day, if necessary.

Do "progress billings" (i.e. weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly), with Net 30 terms. These should be very detailed, showing what was accomplished for each day billed.

    **Hint**
Russel's published price is intended to discourage anyone from asking. He is not in the business of creating sales funnels for other people, when he can make much more by creating sales funnels for himself.

    Advice from Dan Kennedy.

Think what is the most you could get away with....multiply that figure by 4.

Get a signed contract and an upfront payment first......or walk away.

I've made the mistake of not doing this before.....several times in fact.

    Awesome DD. Good for you.

I'd add; think abundantly, and don't get attached to the whale. Remember Gordon Gekko in Wall Street? He's one guy out of infinite abundance.
