I would like to know the best way to get digital products created for you.

Should I find people on this site or go to sites like elancer.

I would really like to get some tips from people that have actually gone through
the process of paying for product creation and the "Do's and Dont's"

product
landing pages
sales pages

What happens when one of your customers has an issue or doesn't understand something in the product?

What happens when they need your support, and you don't know jack about the product or niche?

    Serious question.

Excellent questions, Mike, and one of the reasons I like newbies to do a self assessment of the knowledge, education, training, past employment, hobbies, and life experiences they've had - so that they can go into a niche already able to "speak the jargon" and intelligently talk about details in the niche.

One suggestion about getting a product made in a professional way is to approach people who are experts in the niche already. Sometimes they can be interviewed in order to put a product together. Or they may already have articles, or blog posts, or some other material that could be made into a niche product. Some might even be willing to write the details out so the OP can create a product and then market it - with the revenue generated split 50-50 (or some other arrangement).

Some experts might also be willing to be "on call" in case difficult questions arise that the OP can't answer. This may not be a big problem because there are so many resources online these days . . . one can search on technical niche subjects and come up with answers that will satisfy most niche participants.

On the whole I agree with you, Mike, it's always best to develop or license products in niches where you have some understanding and experience. It's pretty easy to tell when some clueless guy is technically way over his head and spouting BS.

Make it simple enough to where additional questions can be minimized. If you're going to have someone else do a full product for you, then you need to make sure you have a plan in place to address any issues that might come up as a result. This could be coming up with a list of tough questions you feel people would have and having someone answer them. It could be doing the research yourself and then including them in a part of the product (like an FAQ section so to speak).

If I need an ebook done, I always use iWriter. It's great since you only pay when you're actually satisfied with the product. If you don't like it, you can ask for revision or reject it completely and hire new writer.

You can sell private label rights (PLR) products if you're just getting started out. They even give you sales letters to go with the products you're selling. Then all you need to do is create a paypal button, slap it on a website and figure out a way to deliver the product to your customer. You can find these kind of products on JVZoo for real cheap.

Based on Michael's and Steve's insights, if you don't have expertise in this area, you are headed for your doom.

You'd pay someone to create a product that makes you some money - possibly - then when the questions come rolling in (and they will) you will be exposed as a fraud and lose your rep, then it's curtains aka all over.

Create the product yourself. Create one about PLR, if you have knowledge in that niche. Or you could hire someone to create PLR products since you seem to have expertise in that niche.

I have created or led the creation for hundreds of digital products ranging from ebooks, printed books and manuals to entire 3-day training programs, membership sites and digital video programs.

In terms of product strategy - I usually like to start with a combination of a book/ebook and training program (powerpoint or lesson guidebook) which I can then turn into a video series, webinar or other coaching program to test and develop a broader back-end product.

In terms of product creation - I would recommend you do the market research, you decide on your topic and you AT LEAST outline your product - after all - your differentiation in this space is the approach you take to fulfilling the desire your target - don't leave that up to someone else.

As for actual research, content creation or production - you can outsource that. I have used a combination of freelance sites (more in the beginning) and my "go-to" list from people I have come to work with and know are great at one function or another (research, writing, powerpoint creation, video or voice over)

Every product I create is outlined by me or my team and each product I create has some actual content development from me - some have additional content outsourced, some do not.

Trick on the freelance sites is to find someone who ideally has proven track record in what you are looking for AND that has some experience with the topic/market you are working on...found that the best combination.

Another tip, split your project into chunks (Ex chapters in a book, module of a training program, lesson of video training, etc...) and get them to prove themselves on smaller scale first, then expand if you like the result.

Final piece of advice - do as much as you can yourself -- at least for your first product, that way you know the content better, are energized by the product when you launch and you can change it as required in the future (versus having someone else's writing style, content or voice on your products)

    Hope that helps,

    Jeff

I would find someone who is making money in your niche and reverse engineer their marketing material. Landing pages, video sales page, sales page and follow up emails. Success leaves clues....

A little inspiration : For a long time I didn't do it because I thought it was just too much work and too complicated. When I did finally sit down and learn how to do it I thought "Wow this is it and all these years I could have been doing this" lol

Your best bet is to give it some time and create it yourself

You can try to create your own production team on fiverr. Say you want to create ebook store/shop for children book. You can try to hire a writer, an illustrator, a graphic designer, a video creator, and a web designer. See if you can handle those tasks you have to give them. Make your own production project works like you want and you can evaluate your self on it. Good luck!

You can attempt to make your own generation group on fiverr. Let's assume you need to make digital book store/search for youngsters book. You can attempt to enlist an essayist, an artist, a visual architect, a video designer, and a website specialist. Check whether you can deal with those errands you need to give them. Influence your own creation to extend works like you need and you can assess your self on it. Good fortunes!

If you have knowledge of a niche but don't have time to do the writing you can always hire a ghostwriter (says a ghostwriter). Many of my clients give me detailed outlines so they are familiar with the subject matter they just don't want to spend the time or don't feel they have the ability to do the writing.

As others have already said, choosing a niche you have no knowledge in is a recipe for disaster.

  • It is not a bad idea to outsource your tasks in product creation. However, it is better to always be there every step of the way so you know your own product. At least, prepare a plan on how you want your content to be, etc. Do not outsource everything entirely. I have to agree that it is still better that you do your own product so the next time you will do another, you will have your own blueprint to follow, which makes everything a lot easier and of course less room for mistakes.
