If you had to list a top 5 for evergreen niches in 2018 what do you think it would be? Why?

We call it "evergreen" for a reason It's always popular.

    - Make money online
    - Lose weight
    - Stop smoking
    - Dating
    - Beauty/Health/Self improvement

The problem is, the competition is really hard.

Of course, you can always add your own twists and try to beat competition. I said it's hard, not impossible. If you start working and stick to it, sooner or later, you'll succeed.

      Very true.

And the thing is, pretty much all the information is already out there and just re-gurgitated. It wouldn't be a bad idea to, say, re-use extremely helpful information from popular blogs or other text-based sites and convert them into video. That way, you already know the content was very successful and your just using a new medium to deliver it. The thing I'm trying to figure out right now, is what very specific niche to zero-in on.

If you already know what you're doing when we talk about IM, then go for Make Money Online niche. Try to create your own product, course, e-book.

There's ton of information online and you can use it to create your product.

People are willing to spend money to earn money. Just look at all WSO's here and how many users are buying them. You can do something similar.

    Like for example, this guy:
    http://brettrutecky.com/how-i-turned...o-over-100000/

As you can see, he bought a e-course, tried the method, saw it's working, then decided to make new e-course about it and add own twists...

That's clever. Thanks for the info. Me personally, I'm an actor so I have good camera presence (and nice camera equipment), so I'm trying to get into a good evergreen niche that would allow me to utilize those skills.

In fact, making money online is a great niche because if I make videos, I don't necessarily have to leave my home too often, just talk to the camera, and show some video of my computer screen for informative purposes.

I don't actually know a lot about making money online, but like we've been discussing, the info is out there just waiting to be re-packaged and re-shared.

      Thanks for helping me brainstorm!

And there you have your answer. You have unique skills and equipment, so that's your niche. Go check out any of the contract sites: peopleperhour, Upwork, Fiverr etc. type in Video Presenters or any combination and you'll find guys making good money creating intro vids, product presentations etc. We just bought one for our own site; we wrote the scrip and the guys charged us £300 to make a 60 second intro video - anyway just an idea...

Sorry, but everything mentioned so far in this thread is a large marketplace. No niches have been talked about just yet.

And that's the exact reason that you guys are talking about so much competition and how hard it is to beat them. When you dig deep down into these marketplaces and find your own space, a unique way you can position your business, you stand a much better chance of creating your own niche and avoiding the vast majority of the competition.

Many, many marketers fail simply because they try to tackle a large marketplace (like those cited in this thread) instead of a specific homogeneous audience all interested in one specific niche.

Would you be able to provide any laser-focused examples of good niches to go into for 2018?

There could be countless examples: It really depends on the Niche you're willing to serve.

Try this: go to Amazon Books, find a category you are interested in (left hand vertical menu) (Amazon's categories are like the marketplaces that are being discussed in this thread). Now click on a sub-category, and then another, and another until you can't go any deeper into the category. Now you're getting down to the niche level. Look at the titles of the most popular books in each of these sub-sub-sub-categories. Any of these could be a "niche."

The idea is to find a group of people all interested in the same thing. By defining your audience in that way, every prospect, every email you send, everything you recommend, and every product you sell will be of direct interest to all your audience. If you don't drill down deeply, you have too many people of diverse interests that you're trying to market to. That's where you find all of the big competition.

        Good luck,

        Steve

Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin should be very high on the list. I think weight loss/health stays strong. Digital/software/cloud products. I still think the apocolypse/preppers are up there. Dating is always a winner.

I'm always impressed with those that do their research and find that sweet spot niche that brings in the gold. The opportunity is really there.

    Regurgitated -

And the thing is, pretty much all the information is already out there and just re-gurgitated.
So, you just want to be another regurgitator?

Why not create something original based on what you actually know?

What about scam? More people turn to a scammer in every niche possible to make money online. Even my own friend scam me with his program that I just trust him as my friend for the only reason. Now I blocked him forever. People is going crazy next year and after. Bitcoin, MMO and dating are just a few that come with scam every where.

Your question is a problem. Evergreen niches don't change every year. That's why their evergreen.

People will always want to be smarter, more beautiful, and richer/more successful.

If you can give them any of those things then you're in an evergreen niche

i will not suggest dating here, cause there the competition is too much even for the tougher marketers, but if you can be interested in it, then just know that you should be strong, and work hard on it.

If i may interrupt the neverending, pointless lists of the bloody obvious for just one moment.

There are thousands of niches that you can make good money in that few people ever focus on as they chase the dream.

Very often you will see things like solve a problem but this completely ignores hobbies, entertainment, interests and beliefs.

Ok the Lizard people conspiracy market isn't ever going to be as big as health but that's good. You have easier entrance and potentially make money quicker, cheaper and easier.

Also let's not confuse smaller with small.

Some of my work in ufology has been very rewarding the same as putting up online guides for NFL fans coming to London.

People spend more on their hobbies, entertainment, interests and beliefs than they do on their needs - and it's much easier to sell to them.

    Anyway back to the lists

For 2018 you must have to include cryptocurrency like bitcoins. It is the hottest buzzword right now going onto 2018 and Affiliate marketers are heading that direction for a piece of the pie.
However i would also include the usual evergreen niches like:
    Make money online
    - Lose weight
    - Dating
    - Beauty/Health/Self improvement

I was reflecting on my style this year and how my personal fashion philosophy has changed (ex: focusing on buying quality rather than whatever's cheapest and decent enough) and thought it would be fun to ask everyone. Here are my goals:

Focus on buying key pieces - My basics game was on point this year and I don't feel I have any holes in my closet for my lifestyle, but I realized I'm also a bit bored with my outfits. I think adding key pieces like statement earrings or a great third piece will really help take it to the next level.

Document my outfits and rate how I felt in it each day - I thought of getting stylebook for this but the initial process of photographing all my clothing is kind of deterring me. Instead, I bought a sketchbook and colored pencils, and started drawing my daily outfits instead. Bonus points in that it's a great way to destress!

Plan out my purchases - I went way too crazy trying to "take advantage" of sales during Black Friday week that I ended up buying stuff I didn't need and returning like 90% of it. Waste of time for me and waste of resources for the retailers, plus I felt guilty over the needless environmental impact. Next year I will be more thoughtful and less trigger (mouse?) happy!

Curate my makeup - I don't have a huge makeup collection, but even so I find I want to use the same items each day and end up neglecting others. I've been trying to rotate my items each week, but sometimes certain products are a drag to use and I realize I should have done more research before buying it.
And for my beauty products i usually been buying my product from the only one website nyassa.
it has all the specific branded products
if u wanna visit the website here's the link:

A lot of people here don't even know what a niche is!

Make money online, health, dating, weight loss, bitcoin are not niches. This are the opposite of what a niche is. This are huge markets!

A niche is a small but specific and well defined segment of a big market.

And the sigs keep marching in...

So far, all I'm seeing is lists of obvious, huge markets and fads that may or may not become evergreen.

    Here's a clue for you...

Once you actually grasp what a niche really is, look at the lists from 2017, 2016, 2015, etc.

The ones that keep appearing are "evergreen", the ones that appear for a year or two and then drop out are fads.

Don't get me wrong. A lot of money has been made with fads. Where people run into trouble is not recognizing when it's time to pull up anchor and move on. Just ask anyone with a closet full of Beanie Babies they thought would fund their retirement...

    That doesn't even make sense.

If it's evergreen any date is irrelevant.

Top 5 is even irrelevant because my 5 might not mean squat to you or anyone else but each on their own still buys a condo at the beach.
