What niche is likely to do well in video format?

Thinking very specifically, for example, not just 'weightloss' but 'losing weight as a diebetic,' or 'making money at home as a single mother' ... what niches would draw more clients to video contente rather than article content?

best if you tried it out as marketers do this by split testing content then they can see what works

Having worked in both areas I can tell you it is never just one format that will outperform another.

    BTW....It's Diabetic not diebetic.

Usually it will take a broad approach using a variety of content to move a prospect along the path you lay out.

In your diabetic example, when working with a major solution provider, we found the average lead time before conversion was just over eight months.

During that time we used multiple mediums across many platforms to gradually lead prospects towards my client's solution.

Thinking one niche will do better in one format is a bit flawed.

Yes...some prospects respond better to video....BUT....they still need other spheres of influence along the way.

The most influence comes when a prospect TRUSTS you.

This usually comes over time or when you have significant components in place.

It is a bit simplistic to assume one niche responds to video better than another medium.

If you don't have the right components working together you leave money on the table somewhere.

    Best regards,

    Ozi

    Hi LifeDrawnBadly,

In my opinion, you could use video for almost anything.

Here are some statistics I found on video marketing:

Reviews. Tool reviews, etc. Look at aVe, his channel makes him a ton of money.

There are no absolutes in Internet marketing. As others have said, video is just a format, not an automatic conversion tool. Some like video, others hate it! It is not niche dependent.

I tend to agree that there are some types of content where video seems preferable. If you're introducing yourself or a product, video can add realism, personality, and education. If you're explaining something like a sequence, a procedure, or how to use software (etc) a "look over the shoulder" can be effective. Obviously, in the travel and vacation market, video can bring far away places to life.

The best you can do is test what you want to do, keep track of the results, and see if the video format is right for the project you're working on.

Don't hesitate to add more than one format to what you're doing. When I receive a video product, I always appreciate the written word as well. Some video formats are difficult to navigate within. Text lets you jump from place to place easily . . . and you can print out text and take notes if you'd like.

So don't limit your thinking on niches. Let the type of content you're delivering and presenting be your guide as to the platform that makes the most sense.

Something that shows effectivity and results is more likely to be followed because they have seen the outcome.

Well, I could make you a list, draw you a map with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back explaining all the circles and arrows and in a day or two you would be posting another unanswerable question.

Do something or just give it up already. We can't hand you the perfect way to make money. You have to try, fail and keep testing until you either succeed or give up. Just like everyone else.

Well I know for a fact that anything health and fitness works great. Doing a workout on videotape.

I have been thinking very seriously of doing a work out on video with my Total Fitness, the Chuck Norris product.

And then selling it as an Affiliate. Mainly because I truly believe in the product and have for almost 19 years now using it regularly.

    Stuff like that

I really don't think this is niche dependant. I would think it might be more demographic dependant than on niche.

I guess an exception might be "how to's", I would guess people would rather watch a video on how to fix a washing machine, how to do an oil change, how to fix a computer, etc than read an article. I don't have any hard evidence, just a guess.

There are, basically, three different ways people learn... visual, auditory, kinesthetic.

There will be all three types in every niche. All diabetics are not
    visual learners, for example.

So... the wise marketer will provide all three methods... your video page will
link to a pdf for the kinesthetic learner and to a podcast for the auditory learner.
Same for those... the pdf page will link to the video and the podcast... the podcast
will link to the pdf and the video.

Give people the opportunity to learn in the way that suits them best and your
lead time between initial contact and first sale will shorten significantly.

  • I believe any niche can be explained in video format. You just need to learn how to market the niche in a presentable way. Try to read tips on how to effectively do video marketing so you would have ideas to use for your videos.

Yes... any subject can be adequately explained in a video but the best
video presentation ever produced will have little to no effect on a kinesthetic
      learner.

      I believe that too . . . however . . .

There are reasons to use other formats like audio (someone wants to listen to a product during his commute) or elsewhere.

There are reasons to prefer written presentations (you can go back into the content easily, jump around, underline important things, make notes in the margins, etc).

So while you can make a video on any subject . . . it's not always the preferred delivery platform for every buyer.

I like Tom's advice - give your viewers several different platform choices and let them decide how to best consume the content.

The principle applies for most niches, people would rather watch a video
    than read an article.

The dog niche worked great for me in the video niche. it pulls at people's heart strings when they the puppy or the dog and at the same time you are trying to sell them the product.
