Newbie needs a Niche! Lifestyle, Shopping, Family, baby? Any of these lucrative!?

Hey guys!
I'm new to warrior forum and was told by reading Tom Woods "5 Paths to an Online Income" eBook that this is the best place to research when ready to start being an Amazon Marketing Affiliate.
So just a little background on me, my husband and I do some Real Estate investing on the side and both have full time jobs. Recently I went on Maternity leave to prepare for the birth of our first child. Baby will be here January 4, 2018 and I hope to start to getting the hang of or making money by being an Amazon Affiliate.
As I am learning all the things of this new exciting and also confusing world, I got stuck on trying to find a niche! I'd say I try to stay pretty trendy fashion wise within my means. So what does that fall under Lifestyle or shopping? My husband and I are both Family oriented and try to do as much as we can within our means for our families. Whether it be support or advice we try to find solutions. Last but not least as I said I am about to be a new mom, just had a baby shower, setup baby room and now preparing for our new life with a baby, is this the best place to start? I just don't know where to begin. If any one can give me some advice as to where to start or what to do it is greatly appreciated!

    Lifestyle, Shopping, Family, baby?
    These are all markets.

A niche is a smaller more specific part of the market as a whole.

    i.e. "baby crib mattress protector"

Just sit down an decide on what you are passionate about and enjoy doing/talking about without thinking twice about it.Once you make that discovery, that's half the job done.

    Hope it helps.

    Vabelar,

It's always best to begin with a defined audience. The Internet is huge and you can't appeal to everyone, nor do you want to. Specialize. Bring together an audience of people that all have the same desires and problems or interests. Find out what their needs, wants, problems, desires, dreams are and then provide them with ways to realize their dreams, overcome their problems, and enjoy their lives in a more meaningful way (this is what you will sell to them).

You will hear the word "niche" used very often. It is a small, very specialized, unique way you position your business to supply your audience with what they want. So many people get this wrong: a niche is not a large marketplace (like travel, lifestyle, beauty, health, or dieting). None of these topics have an audience that all want the same thing - people's interests are too diverse. You have to dig deep down into a market in order to discover or create your own niche of prospects that are like-minded.

May I suggest you read a copy of this free explanation of what I'm talking about. It's called "The Niche Intelligence Report."

After you have identified the audience that you want to serve, it will be important to verify that there is buying demand within the niche. You want to make sure the people you're going to gather into an audience have money and are willing to spend it in your niche. (Some niches attract mostly freebie-seekers - that's not what you want.)

You can verify that your audience demand for certain products or services can support a business by doing "market research" online. There are threads in this forum explaining how to do market research (and just about every other facet of IM (internet marketing). Market research will show you the level of interest in the niche, the competitors who are already active in the niche, what products are available, what they cost, and lots of other information to help you position your business in a unique way that will draw prospects to you.

This is where I start with every product that I sell.

A Caution for You. The vast majority of people on this public forum have no current profitable business - they are newbies - and while there is nothing wrong with that (we all have to start somewhere, right?), much of the advice you will read here is just speculation. Spend some time on the forum and learn to take advice from people that make sense - those who "walk the walk." Some will say things like "start with a product you want to sell" or become an affiliate for something. Don't give in to that advice. Always start with an audience and their needs (demand economics). You are in business to supply that demand. In other words, you're going to get paid to supply the products or services (or both) that you audience is demanding.

Sorry for the length of this post . . . it's where I always begin no matter what I'm selling.

    The very best to you,

    Steve

I would think new mothers would be a great market.

New grandmothers, also. I know I spend way too much on my grandbabies

I think you are thinking too much into it. Just dive in and start.

It sounds like you are excited about becoming a mom. Why not start a website around that? It could even be a blog on your experiences and what you are going through.

"Baby" is massively lucrative - any parent can tell you how much they spend on baby products. I live in a remote town in Australia, nearest town (smaller) is 3oo miles away, nearest bigger town almost 900 miles away, baby stuff is one of our biggest costs. So we go online....

Hi Vabelar, You could work with all of those niches, and make it well, just try to focus on something that could be the most easier for you to handle, regarding your upcoming situation.
