Advice please on writing and publishing a children's book on Amazon

I've got an interest in writing children's books but I don't seem to ever do anything about it. I'm wondering if anyone has achieved success doing this or if someone has any good advice, I would be glad to receive it. I've read about people selling fiction on Amazon and wonder if this can be achieved with a children's book? Thanks
