I agree with you about quality of content and link profile, but this is not a point what he asked.
However, domain name is important for branding especially for a new site.

I vote for Quieter life dot com

Sorry, but domain names do matter! (If not then just go with SMGFJEKTYIFRMNEUTKT.COM and be done with it)

Any number of names can work, but IMO, you want to find one that is memorable, as short as possible, without numbers or dashes, easily spelled, and somewhat descriptive of what the web site is all about.

To me "soundeliminator" is the best descriptive name of the three you've mentioned; however, I think you can do better. Before you make a final decision, go to Impossibility and Lean Domain Search. Type in the word "noise" as your keyword and see if you can find a domain name that suggests noise reduction.

    The very best to you,

I am just saying that. Sir, Domain names doesn't matter in getting ranked better.

What you have suggested such as 'memorable, as short as possible, without numbers or dashes, easily spelled, and somewhat descriptive of what the web site' are good for brand awareness. But that doesn't mean you will rank better.

Quiterlife and quitemylife sound more like it's about some personal lifestyle choice.

Soundeliminater is much more relevant to the content you plan to provide.

Soundeliminator seems a little better than others two, But I would advise you something totally different.

Choose or come up with a name that is completely different and represents ONLY YOU,

sound eliminator is a good name if you think generally, but how a unique name can benefit you more? Here are the following points:

BRAND MENTIONS or NAME MENTIONS: Google or major search engine does recognize brand mentions, but having a name like soundeliminator won't give you that benefit as it is more like a general term and search algorithms won't probably justify them as a brand mention but a general term.
Also if mentioned anywhere whether in a text, word of mouth, links, It should represent only you. OWN THAT NAME!

    2) It sounds more like a general term or a single device, and people may not be able to remember it for long, If you plan to exist as an authority in the niche, or a very trustable source. It's better to have a more unique and memorable name that get's stuck in mind.

There are many other points which can back up my suggestion but unfortunately, I'm unable to come up with more right now.

And I feel like there could be many points that prove the sound-eliminator name good as well but that's just my opinion right now.

Also, another suggestion would be to don't post all the 30 articles at once after getting live, Schedule them atleast 1,2 or 3 a weak. That way you will signal the search engine of being active and regulary updating the content.

I agree and that is the reasin why i think quieterlife or quietmylife is the better of the two.

It's your personal choice but If I were you, I wouldn't go for it. It does sound a little boring and bring thoughts a little different in mind then what actually the niche is.

I would name something that brings more relax, calm and peaceful thoughts. Think about it how people would feel when they hear the name first time?

Adding a little feel to the business or brands is way and way more rewarding then you can imagine.

These two sounds more like you need some alone place, or something related depressing blah blah.. I don't exactly know but I'm being honest and it doesn't sound good to me..

        • Profile picture of the author JD Aadam
Honestly, I don't exactly know right now, search for some synonyms, related, take ideas from competitors name, combine two words that create a new one.
create a more solution-oriented name like "solution-for-noise", No it's not a good name but come up with something like this.

It takes time to come up with a good name, so don't worry. Think about it, give it a little more time, look for more responses on this thread. I hope you find the best name. BEST OF LUCK

What will your target market type into search engines?

Soundproofing.com has been online since 2008.

I would go with something similar.

Honestly, I don't like any of them.
    Quieter can be easily mispelled.
    So can sound eliminator.
That leaves quiet my life dot com

    Still not a nice choice.

I suggest you go with something brandable. What does the name Twitter have to do with their service? They should have called it short messaging dot com.

What about Mashable or Moz? Nothing to do with the service.

Brands always last longer and have more utility than a descriptive domain name.

    Craig,

Domain name doesn't matter all that much. You want something that people can easily remember that is not too long. A dot com is preferred, followed by dot net.

Quieter life dot com gets my vote.

    Soundelimator reads like:

    - denominated
    - terminator
    - denomination

But when i look at quieterlife .com... i instantly "get it".

This is what I mean. You instantly get it. The website will not be completely about soundproofing. Jusy anything to do with noise reduction. For example i might do a review of noise canceling headphones.

You are covering a wide variety of subjects so you might want to choose a name that is generic . You need to come up with or brain storm a strategy to use when choosing your domain.

Sound eliminator sounds like a gizmo, and might confuse people when they get to a general site about noise the reduction.

The others, absent the knowledge that you deal in sound reduction, could be taken as more airy-fairy topics like meditation, yoga, concentration, etc.

I'd look for something that offers a benefit, like "StopTheNoise.com"...

Ranking is only the first part of the solution. Once visible, the title, domain and description have to work together to generate the click.

There are studies out there that say "position #1 gets xx%of clicks", but that's measured over millions of results. If I'm trying to noise-proof my bedroom because the people upstairs are insomniac clog dancers, I'm not looking at millions of results. I'm looking at one page at a time, scanning for answers. I may not click that #1 listing. I may not click any of them. But if I see something that hints that they might have my answer, I'll give them a shot.
