I hate the new WSO section

Who's with me? or do you disagree? I'm not a fan of the new format. It looks 'prettier' on the surface, but not very user friendly in my opinion. It's very hard to browse and I feel like traffic will be lost for sellers.

  • I think it looks so much better - and appreciate the ability to view the WSO section once again in Classic View. I don't like 'feed' and don't use it.

It doesn't matter 'who is with...'. Privately owned forum and current admins are in the process of making changes to the ad sections. My suggestion is to give it some time until changes are completed before passing judgment.

    • I can see the WSOs whom have an image will get better traction then just a Headline ! did look for the classic view but could not find it ?!

Brain I think we all need to adapt as this will an ever growing situation and I am sure their will be more changes like as the classifieds will be called the Underground

  • I saw it when I was logging in with a new computer and didn't have my preferences set up yet. It was an option for 'classic view' above the list of WSOs.

If you are already in classic view, you may see that automatically - previously only the feed view was available in that section.
  • I hate it too. I hate the big blocks set up in columns across the page. I liked the classic view that I've had forever where I could just peruse the list that looked like the rest of the forum in classic view. I like just going up and down, not having to look left to right and up and down to read all the things. The lame graphics over each one are worthless currently, but I guess maybe at some point sellers will put thumbnails up there to make it more visually appealing and less monotonous.

Ultimately I'm a person that hates change for change sake. I don't see what this provides other than a different user experience and I'm a guy that likes routine. Whatever though. Not everyone has to like it. Ebay has a grid view that I've never used either, I always change it back to the old school view. I've been on many forums, and most people hate change.

  • i like it, i like seeing the price and the owner of the wso. instead of the old way where you have to click on it and find the price etc.....just my opinion
  • At least you admit that - most who complain try to justify the drama rather than admitting "I don't like anything to change".

Not sure what the complaint is, though, as now (as opposed to before) you CAN view WSO's in the classic view. If that's what you want - where's the problem?

    • You have an opposite experience than I have. I have always been able to view them in classic view. Always. Now I can't on the main page, which is where I liked to scroll quickly and see what I was interested in. Now I have to scroll through big blocks to see the titles which I could do quicker before.

It's also okay for people not to like change and express opinions different than yours. People don't have to justify anything. It's the beauty of freedom.

    • Like umc, I don't see a classic view either. This is all I see whether I switch to classic or shi... err... modern view.

I'll be curious to hear how most sellers feel about the price being right there on the front page before they get a chance to tell potential buyers anything about what they are selling. I would think that most sellers will not be happy about that change.

And like collinslad said, I don't like that they took away the ability to see the when the last reply was made or to go directly to the last post.

The little feature ribbon on the headings needs to go away too. Every single one of them either says "New" or "Hot". If it is not new, it's hot. They can't all be "Hot". Kind of diminishes the credibility.

  • I am with you.I liked to scroll up and down and browse. To see everything in one glance as it were.

  • The reason I don't like it is because you can't see which threads have had recent replies and you can't jump straight to the latest reply. A step backwards in my opinion.

  • I vote for the classic view. Easy to read and very entertaining, compare to the new look.
  • Not keen either. Too challenging and not easy on the eye

The classic (no option to alter on any of my 3 home pc/laptops) was a nice "linear" list structure. I think "icon" interfaces have their place, and one of my sig page is indeed one of them, but the WSO forum, IMHO, is not

    Just my 2c.
  • I really like it and I thought I would hate it.

First I like the opportunity to use my own graphics with headings to distinguish my listing

Second from what i see (and correct me if I am wrong)

The new categories listings pull from the last ads in that category not just from the general first page.

So for users that choose a category you stay on that front page much longer. Haven't thought of running an ad for a long time here but if the traffic goes up I just might

But umm not if its underground traffic.

I'd like to see those categories expanded. I realize a lot of people are in general MMO and will look through any listing they think will show them how to make a dime but there also has been those who know what they are looking for and scrolling through every listing or using search was clumsy before.
  • Not too keen on it either.
At least give the option to see the complete list as before.

    • Although I'm not a huge fan of the new layout, I don't want to see them give us the option to view it both ways. They keep making compromises like this and I believe that it is half the reason there are so many bugs problems with the site.

Look at the "modern view" and "classic view" situation. Keeping both around makes it more difficult to keep the forum functional and we get stuck with dumb things like the "View parent reply" situation for those of us viewing in the classic view instead of an actual quote box.

Nope. If they really feel the new design is better, they should stick with it and commit to it. Same goes for the "modern view". If they really feel that is better for the community, they should kill the classic view and go with it.
