Best step-by-step guide for newbie?

Hi
I am brand new to this game. Although I do have some experience with making money online. I was looking for a step-by-step guide which will tell me exactly how to set up my first blog/site? I have noticed there are quite a few packages available around $17 for newbies. I was considering the Deadbeat affiliate product. I wondered if anyone had any other recommendations? Please don't comment trying to sell your own stuff lol.

Thanks

I learned how to do what your talking about by:

    1.) Buying a $500 course online
2.) implementing the steps that I was instructed to do in the course

In hindsight, I realized that I had to teach myself everything. The course simply caused me to take action and figure out how to do everything myself. The $500 course simply just gave me the "steps" to take l which I had to figure out for myself. I've come to realize that the course was unnecessary.

I'll save you the money that I spent, and just give you the steps that you need to take. It's up to you to put the work in to complete the steps:

1.) Purchase your own domain name (ie. www.yoursite.com)

2.) Integrate with WordPress (or whatever other content management system you choose)

3.) Select a WordPress theme that gives your site the look you want. I recommend going with a premium/paid theme because they usually offer a lot of customizability. I personally use "Thesis", but there's definitely a learning curve with that theme.

4.) Create some free content that you have on your site - blog posts, videos, etc.

5.) Figure out how you are going to monetize your site - affiliate links, your own ebook, other digital products that you create, etc

6.) If you're gonna make your own product (ie. eBook), then make the product (ie. Write the eBook and save it as a PDF file ready to sell).

7.) Once your product is made, set up your "shopping cart" so your product can be auto delivered. I use "E-junkie" and PayPal standard, but there are other options.

8.) Implement your mailing list into your site. I use Aweber, but there are other options.

9.) Figure our how you are going to set up your sales funnel using your mailing list and products that you are selling.

Just figure out how to do each of those, on step at a time, and you'll have an online business.

I agree with the posts above. The very first thing I would do is that using youtube as a research tool. Just about everything you need to know is shown there in detail. This applies to internet marketing, building a word press site or anything else

To be honest in all my years here I've never seen a digital book or PDF that gave you anything in regard to setting up a website that was not available for free

Brent's suggestions is what I would back up. Go to youtube and you will have no end of guidance.

  • Thanks for the posts guys. It's funny because on one hand people say value your time more, get mentorship or buy a course. Then others say do it yourself. I decided to buy a cheap course. It seems pretty reputable. I just want to get started with little hassle. I have a tendency to second guess myself when I am learning something new. Wish me luck

    How High Can You Fly,

I don't have a product in particular that I can recommend. I wouldn't go with something just because it is cheap. Find a good product do your homework on it, the better ones will probably cost more.

Also check out Neil Patel, he is a blogging master!

You never know..... some of our own stuff might be better than the "other" stuff that you're looking for. People on this forum are making a killing in their business. Straight up financially free. So choosing from one of us VS asking for a course that's NOT from us can potentially make you go in circles. Potentially.

I am in the internet marketing niche. So if i'm going to recommend a competitor's product, WHY would i do that? The only thing i can 100% recommend is WarriorForum.com.

That's real talk from the trenches.

I would say honestly nowadays there is no shortage of mentors. Any person who achieves a bit of success has become a mentor specially on youtube. I believe the courses which offers free bootcamp separately are far more better and value providing as compare to the youtube ones. The More time you spend learning the more you would explore whats working for you and what isn't
