Coaches, mentors, instructors, and gurus are all over the place and they advertise everywhere. Simple searches on Google will reveal thousands of alternatives. I'm surprised you're having trouble finding them because my experience has been that once they know you're looking for a mentor, they will be all over you "like flies on a rib roast." (Thanks cousin Eddy).

The challenge is not in finding supply . . . the challenge is in finding someone that you can afford, that actually knows how to make money, that has happy clients, that will be a good fit for you personally, and that cares about more than just your money!

I have never paid for mentoring so I am not going to give you any personal recommendations. However, I have heard mostly horror stories on this forum about mentors that didn't deliver . . . many more complaints than praise for great mentors. So be very careful about choosing the right mentor for you that actually knows what he is doing.

There are lots of websites like that, the main thing is to make sure that you will get good information and won't have to pay a $10k for some information you could find for free.

Google for "how to make money online", "online marketing course" and similar stuff, basically ask questions, and check appearing articles - those are normally from blogs of mentors and coaches.

Make money online is very broad. Do you know more specifically what you're interested in?

Such as affiliate marketing, ecommerce, etc?

well, that is a very BROAD request. i think you would been very better off saying how much you are willing to pay for a coach. they range from $47 to $15000.
some are good and some are bad.
but, there are very well known coaches on this forum that are awesome and very honest. if you are serious about this business, coach fee of $1000 or more is very reasonable.

This is an open question, you are probably going to get bombarded with people who say they are mentors & coaches. I would figure out which niche you want to go into, then find someone who is doing well in that niche and see if they will mentor or coach you. If not, you can model what they are doing (success leaves clues). Reverse engineer what they are doing and recreate it for yourself.

As far as mentoring & coaching goes, the better ones will cost money.

This is all you need to get started. In my early years i didnt know how to do much online except Yahoo Search Marketing (extinct now, but used to be Overture and "GoTo". I joined WarriorForum out of the reluctance of people telling Einstein here (myself) how to run my own business. Now my pride is diminished, and i learn things all the time here every week. Even from newbies.

Just stick to this forum right now, take a good look around, and you will find everything that you're looking for.

I have had several mentors over my lifetime, but I hired none of them. To my mind, there is no such thing as a "hired mentor", in spite of the prevailing feeling around here.

On the other hand, I have hired multiple coaches to help me with specific issues.

I've also hired (instructors, teachers, tutors) for very specific tasks.

Since you mentioned finding paid mentors on this forum, all you should have to do is watch your inbox. Finding them won't be the problem. Not tripping over them will be the problem.

Earlier in this thread I was told that I was giving a broad definition of what I wanted from making money online. Maybe this was the case because I was looking for various ways to make money online all the while being educated in the particular process of making money in a specific type of way. I am particularly interested with content marketing as I have some skill in creating articles and am more familiar with this as it is something that was educated to me in school unlike affiliate marketing.

There are several website's that offer coaching. Why not start with something free build up the basic knowledge first and then you will be in right place to choose what kind of training would benefit you.

Youtube is the best way to find out your destination.

But, Fist you have to select your niche, Which field you are like best to work on. then search youtube, I think you will get the best answer from there.

I have also made the decision to ask what you think about sites that coach individuals on various ways to make money online? I posted earlier a site thatjoblessguy.com where he is talking about textbook arbitrage on amazon. Do you know any other places online like this website or do you know anyone I can contact and communicate with who shares info about ways to make money online like the site thatjoblessguy.com did?

Basic business models are:

1. Digital products: instructional products aimed at providing systems and information toward the desire to transform lives (health, dating/relationships, financial, self-help, family/parenting, etc...) Eventually you want to produce your own products (reports, ebooks, books, courses, coaching, software, etc...) but you can start by marketing as an affiliate

2. Physical products/E-Commerce: I call this marketing "stuff" - everything from supplements to electronics, from entertainment packages to credit cards...obviously a VERY wide spectrum here. Typically you start with a niche category (kitchen supplies, health supplements, yoga products, etc...) and then specialize in sub-niche within those categories...again ideally you work toward either manufacturing your own goods or at least sourcing from overseas versus simply being an affiliate - but starting as an affiliate is a good way to test a given market

Your example of textbook arbitrage would fall into this category as well - slightly different wrinkle in that (as with ANY type of arbitrage), you buy used/second-hand and resell at a profit. I have a good friend that does this with kids stuffed animals - buys them from liquidation and resells on Ebay

3. Software/Application Development: Entirely different game where you want to create a software application to serve a utility - test and build a small company around your app(s)

4. Services: Type of business where you apply expertise in outsource capacity and can turn that eventually into an agency (Ex Wordpress customization & maintence, copywriting, graphic design, etc...)

5. Licensing Deals: Broad category covering deals struck by leading influencers (bloggers, instagram, youtube, facebook, etc...) where you can work with major brands to promote them or even customize a line of products for you (Ex Gary Vaynerchuck with shoes, many others do this with tshirts or other merch)

That pretty much covers the options for monetizing & business models - of course how you identify and build products, generate traffic and achieve conversion from traffic to sales are other sets of variables - but they pretty much lead back to one of these 5 methods for generating revenue/profit
