Looking for a good price on A dedicated Server.

by rebepa333 17 replies
I currently pay $50 a month with Go Daddy for a dedicated server. Go Daddy says that is what I need because of my traffic - I get about 500 to 1,000 visitors a day. Anyone know of a GOOD company with good support that is less? I realize $50 isn't really a lot but the site is fairly new & not raking in a ton of $$ yet. If I could get away with paying less that would extraordinary.

I use InMotion Hosting, been with them for 9 years. Awesome 24 hour suport - phone! Had many VPS's with them. Great to work with. I really suggest trying them.

PS: I'd never deal with GD!

For 1000 visitors why are you using dedicated server. A VPS can do the job. What type of site are you talking about?

According to GoDaddy and Host Gator I need a dedicated server to meet my needs. I was one A VPS and my webpage kept shutting down. When I called GoDaddy they said I needed a Dedicated Server. Feel Free to PM and I will gladly give you my webpages domain. Thank you.

My college is using Hostcolor and using this dedicated server plan
    w/ 100 Mbps Unmetered Port: $269/month
    32 GB of RAM
    16 CPUs
    https://forumweb.hosting/15778-top-d...color-com.html

+ $15 for WHM/cPanel and he has a fast dedicated server.

For your $50, it is not much but you can get a small dedicated server 8Gb of RAM, I would suggest you choose a VPS instead.
Beside web hosting offers section on Warriorforum then ForumWeb.Hosting and Webhostingtalk can be a good place to find some good web hosting providers.

    Hope that helped.

Well, the powerful VPS Hosting would be enough to handle 1K daily visitors however if you are looking for an affordable dedicated server with the really helpful support team, you should give a try to Accuwebhosting Dedicated servers.

They help from ABC to XYZ of your hosting needs!

What are you hosting? I've used Hostgator in the past with good success.

Hostgator is very common, do not know but I think that if you search a bit more you will be able to find better offers on different hosting places around the web.

I have several websites that get more than 500 visitors a day and they are all on the same shared hosting package. I'm not sure why they are telling you that need a dedicated server for 1000 visitors a day.

Something sounds wrong about that. I think they are just trying to upsell you.

I've used HostGator for the last 10 years and I have 2 shared hosting packages with them and between all of my sites I get over 50,000 visitors per month per shared account and I've never had any sites shut down or been told I needed to upgrade.

I had a 1000 click solo ad yesterday and received over 1100 visitors to that one page alone in less than 24 hours.

I was under the impression you need like 10,000+ visitors per day before you would need to upgrade to a VPS, let alone a dedicated server.

Agreed. I have 4 websites that get from 700-1200 visitors a day and we never have downtime or any problems. You do NOT need a VPS at the moment, it would be a serious waste of money.

Have a look at servers from a2hosting and hostsailor.
Servers are well-balanced and prices are low and support is online around the clock.

Hostwinds and hostround companies are worth your attention because of their reliability and server stability. Prices are low and support is active around the clock.

1000-2000 visitors/day? sharing hosting should be fine.

Low cost dedicated servers are available from kvchosting.net and legionbox.com. They have active support which helps much in setting up a server and in fixing any other issues if they occur.
