You could place local ads on Google or Bing advertising Computer Repair.
Ex. Dallas Computer Repair, Call Name and Number.

The local ads would only display in the city you choose.

    Yes
    Yes
    And yes

IMO if you have a business you almost need to have a website, especially if it's in the technology field.

Yes, ChrisBa is right. you should definitely create your own website and work on SEO, especially since your business deals with tech. If you want some blog posts to go along with your site but have no writing experience, you could easily outsource that to a freelance writer on Upwork, Fiverr or Onlinejobs.ph or take the time to brush up your writing skills. Placing ads on Google also helps, just like ezjob says. You might also want to set up a Facebook page for your business to give customers another channel to contact you with and for you to advertise on.

A few years ago the friend of mine was running a business in the US.
So, he had a computer repairing service. He started a YouTube channel and uploaded a lot of videos on repairing laptops, desktop computers.
That channel brought him a lot of orders.
A blog or a youtube channel (or both), in my opinion, my be perfect ideas in your case.

This is very true if you have a good idea you will go far with it. I know some other persons that made their business with YouTube channels only with doing what they know the best and showing this to the whole world.

    Alex July is right.
You don't have to have a website or blog if you like.
Just use Youtube channel to show your ability in computer repairing service.
You should focus to market your service offline, such as using sticker, name card, brochure, flyer, etc.
Put your Youtube channel in that printed media.
You can also buy domain name and redirect to your YT channel.
And put your simple ad in several classified website targeting your local area.
A website is not necessary at the first stage, but if you can afford one then go get it to make you look more professional.

Hi Philip- I guess creating your brand using social media could be a great help to promote your business. A blog and facebook group with your clients good feedback could be an addition to this.

First start to think about marketing and how you can boost up your business. For the start Social Networks will play huge role but after your website and whole service set up will decide if you will make a profit from your computer repairing service or not.

  • Here are some easy ideas:

    - Promote your business on Google Places

    - Promote via your own business card. You never know when somebody's ipad or notebook needs instant repair, and they need someone to call for help

    - Create a website and gather leads, teaching them about computer repair, and leading them back to your site for appointments, or purchases of other monetization options you may have in mind

    - Do local PPC advertising with Bing Ads and Adwords

    - Do PPC on facebook

    - Create a facebook page and invite everybody you know personally (who will almost definitely operate a computer or laptop - and need repairs from time to time)

    - Create Youtube videos demonstrating your expertise

    - Create an ebook about computer repair as a "side hobby" to reach people worldwide

    - Hold seminars and conferences in your area

    - If you have college degrees and/or certifications proving your expertise, promote that everywhere

    The options are endless
