Starting an online business?

Hello everyone I am new here, decided to join the forums after lurking for a while and saw that it is a really good community

So for a long time now I am trying to start a business that would set me free of my current job. I have been looking into many fields but always came to a brake with everything.
Was also thinking about web hosting, but realized that would not be the best fit for me. I know how to build basic website, and some technical stuff but not anything too great.

I would like to build a business that would bring in passive income (yes like reselling web hosting) What I was thinking lately is running a ticket management platform, but after looking
around for a while I noticed most of companies already have their own support ticket system.

So I would like to hear some opinions from you guys since you are much more business literate and everything, so thanks

But as you also know that youtube will give you genuine & targeted traffic which going to last long & convert well.

If you are interested to join this system feel free to PM me. But honestly here needs patience in the beginning. And daily 1.5-2 hours enough.
Hey thanks for the reply, not really into affiliate or dropshipping.

I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offers for a little over 17 years.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the back-end.

Some of the verticals (niches) I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc..

I have also done just as good with dating website sign-ups and pretty good with free trial + S/H offers. I also promote a very limited number of offers that are straight sales offers. However, I mainly promote them on the back-end.

For me, promoting PPL offers have proven to create the path of least resistance to generating conversions/$$$. it's just far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

    Something to think about.

I would surely say this again since anyone who becomes a success you see had an unquenched curiosity towards what they are doing.

Get clear on what you want to do first. Why do you want to start an online business? What are you good at and can sell? There's tons of ways to make money online or offline but it's probably going to take more time and energy to get going than your job right now so you want to be sure you are doing something you will want to build for long term. Hope that helps!

This is probably the best advice here.

I would highly recommend that you forget about choosing the best niche for your online business and purchase a book by MJ Demarco "The Millionaire Fastlane" - it will change your thinking and help you find the best way to start a business.

In a few words, for everyone who doesn't have time (money) to read the book: forget about money, focus on solving problems. Being an entrepreneur is being a problems solver.

And the way you solve problems might be reselling web hosting, blogging, youtubing, creating two-page website, freelancing and so on.

Passive income, nothing better then selling hosting.

What about flippa and reselling already created sites?

You can always put your magic touch on it

I suggest you that first of all fix your mindset and ask yourself that what you know better?
Something you know better will help you at the primary step and you can easily start your business. Suppose you have a huge knowledge about chicken and you want to sell it online. Then you can create a online store for it and promote it through internet.

This title, "Starting an online business?" sounds a little "I'm Ron Burgandy?"

    DECIDE.

Having every little detail figured out before you begin is NOT necessary. It may not even be a good idea. If you wait for everything to be perfect to begin you will never start.

Yes, figure out the kind of business you want.

From what you've shared it seems like an affiliate program makes the most sense for you. You will provide the leads, the company you send the leads to will pay you and take care of the fulfillment.

You can do this for just about anything: games, loans, cosmetics, travel, you name it. Find a topic you like. Some offers pay when they make a sale from your lead; others pay when a lead signs up for a trial or freebie or account.

Two networks that are central points for these kinds of offers are Max Bounty and Peerfly. You will need some clarity to get approval from them.

As a next step I highly recommend Tom Addams' Month One WSO. It lays out all the steps to develop this kind of business, from generating free traffic through conversion of sending the lead to the affiliate offer. It will give you the clarity you're looking for and get you moving.

If it's even a smidgen of what Tom offers here it will be one hell of a product. I don't think Mr. Addams will disappoint

First, define who you want to serve.

What do you know that can help or give value to people? Do you have special training, or education, or knowledge on a subject, or experience doing something that others would like to learn about?

Also, look for things that others would say you are very good at doing. What skills, or talents, or interests, or hobbies do you excel at?

Find some "advantage" that you have over the average person. There will be people that want to know and learn what you already know about a topic.

Everything starts with defining your target audience. They will tell you what kind of problems and interests they have. Once you understand that, you will be in a position to provide them with paid solutions, products, and services that will help them.

Be wary of people that tell you what business to go into. How do they know what's best for you, given who you are? They don't know your strengths, abilities, limitations, interests or knowledge. This is a decision you'll have to make . . . but it helps to review the "advantages" you have first.

    The very best to you,

    Steve

To get passive income you should definitely check-out some eCom solutions as well info from a different people who are already couple of years into this business. Need to tell you that it would not be easy but with hard work and following of the certain rules everything will be fine.

To start an online business i would suggest you go into E-commerce which is the buzz word right now. Try and get your hands on a ecom course which teaches you how to choose the right niche, how to set up your website store and how to drive traffic to your store. This is my personal opinion has my stores have generated over 100K combined in 2017. If you just want to concentrate on Affiliate Marketing you should check out Anik Singal's Inbox blueprint. Anik has over 250,000 students who have started there own businesses.

    Like Ryan B. said:

Choose something you're "passionate" about. (It could be anything providing that it makes you feel alive and will keep you working with it until you're successful ...)

You don't necessarily have to be an "Expert" in your Niche ― you could interview all the "Experts" and turn it into a product and/or content on your Website (etc.)

    Just a couple of thoughts.

    Hi

There are a heck load of options that you could start with but what I would suggest is go through all the niche and do what excites you more. Follow your passion and making a business out of it online would be the key to success, I would say.

I recommend dropshipping. It is a retail method in which you don't keep products in stock. Instead, you partner with a wholesale supplier that stocks its own inventory - you transfer customer orders and shipment details to them, and they ship the goods directly to the customer.

In many ways, starting an online business is similar to starting a brick-and-mortar store. You'll plan your business, organize your funding, produce your product, and get to work. But, there are unique aspects of running an online-only business that would-be entrepreneurs need to consider.

I've laid out a few of the various types of online businesses that you might be interested in starting, both those based around existing platforms like Etsy and eBay, and self-hosted eCommerce sites. We'll also go over the process for starting an online business, and the steps you'll need to take to get your business up and running.

Hi there. Good news to hear starting an online business. I did just that seven months ago and I am still doing it. Prior to Online Business, I was truly worried whether this business is for real.

One day my son asked me to buy him a book on the eBay and I was terrified because it was my first using online business. Two weeks later when i received the book in perfect conditions, I began to realize that Online Business is for REAL.

My advise is lets learn the fundamental of Online Business and once you are in it, you would agree with me the excitement that comes together with it.
