Article Marketing - once and for all!

Gee whats with all these article marketing threads lately

Here's another one.

I'm new to article marketing....I have outsourced 60 articles.

All I know is ezine articles is the best article directory to submit to.

What do I do?

Do I submit to EA first and then submit the same articles to other directories unedited...or do they need to be unique for every article dir I submit to.

There's so much conflicting info here, give it to me straight

Thanks.

I've only ran into one submission problem with EZA ever. The problem that happened was that they saw my article in another article directory so wouldn't approve it.

So submit to EZA first. Once accepted you can submit the article any way you wish to other directories, even exactly the same one you submitted to EZA.

This actually wouldn't be as big of a problem if EZA approved articles faster, but since it tends to takes time articles get backed up. In my main niche I can rewrite a fresh new article faster than I could ever re-spin an article, so I'll risk duplicate content if I've got 5 more fresh articles coming behind it.

Thanks Robby for the info. I don't mind waiting for EZA to approve them, then I can go all out and submit them to many other article dirs.

I don't care about dup content either, I'm not going to play the SEO/Google game, too stressful lol.

I just want longterm traffic that articles can bring from people sharing them and directly from the article dirs themselves

I always submit to EZA first! They always seem to rank higher & quicker in the SE's than the other directories.

Some of my articles have made the top position in Google on the first day they were published.

Once it's published on EZA I let them simmer for a week or two and then post to other directories.

That's my strategy - BTW I also set up a hubpage with a slightly different version of the article.

Ernie, I've been doing this for a long time (long before Travis Sago's Bum
Marketing) so I think that qualifies me as an expert. At least I hope so.

For starters, there is no one way to do article marketing. Everybody is going
to have different results even doing the same thing. A lot depends on niche,
keyword selection, where submitted to and so on. There is no perfect "do
this, do this and do that" system. If there was, I'd bottle it.

Case in point...I have one niche where my articles do almost nothing.

I have another niche where if I don't get a sale a day I'm in shock. If you
think I'm kidding, ask Travis himself. He knows my stats.

All I can tell you is what has worked for me, for the most part, these last
        few years.

        1. I submit to EZA only. The other directories do NOTHING for me. I don't
        even bother with them anymore.

        2. I also submit articles to other marketer's sites as a guest author. Trust
me, tons of marketers are looking for content for their blogs.

        3. I put articles on my own sites.

That's it. That's all I do. Most of it is to EZA submission because they
bring me the best results. Your mileage may very based on many variables
        as I have already mentioned.

Hope this helps at least a little.

If I were you, I would submit one article per day, exclusively to ezine. Other sites like articlecity are just crap. 60 days later, you should see some incredible traffic.

I did this last year for one of my products, where I outsourced 10 articles and submitted one every two day. By the end of that month, my traffic literally exploded by 300%

I'm obviously in the wrong niche then :p My sales are sporadic at best. There's always time to re-educate yourself on a new niche though, just got to be prepared for the longest set of 10 articles you'll ever write.

For article directories I pick them very easily. Do they come up in Google's search results on the first few pages? Use those.

Thanks Steven for the advice. I may just end up submitting to EZA and Go Articles (heard good things about them). A lot of the rest I imagine are just scrapers, may not be worth the time submitting to them.

Do you find that all your articles continue to get views down the track? Or is it just a sudden burst of traffic at first that slowly trickles to nothing?

Speaking for myself - my EZA articles still get traffic on a continual basis. My oldest article released in 2006 still gets repeated traffic.

GoArticles will basically accept anything, so I am not sure how great they are in the eyes of Google.

I get the majority of my traffic from EZA

I don't find articles at Goarticles get indexed very easily - I usually have to social bookmark or link to them from elsewhere. I submit 90% of my articles to EZA - the rest seem to be a waste of time (in terms of real results anyway).

      Ernie, depends on the niche.

Here are some figures for one article I submitted on July 3.

As you can see, views have increased since the initial submission.

WOW Steve, you always go the extra mile! Thanks for sharing your stats.

No wonder you love article marketing so much...all those views from just 1 article? Nice!

That is surprising, how the first month of submission wasn't the highest...then again I guess it depends on what day of the month it was submitted lol. But still the following 2months are very impressive.

Great to see articles have some staying power

That's the reason I have chosen to invest in them.

Ernie, that article was submitted July 3, almost the beginning of the
month. I was honestly surprised at how great it's doing. Plus, the ratings
for the article are high too.

Now, I can't say whether people are finding this article through EZA or
through the search engines, but whatever it is, it's doing very well.

This niche by the way, does almost a sale a day for me. Now, that's not
off of just one article, but I only write one a day (takes me 15 minutes)
          and the results are consistent.

But again, depends on the niche. Some are dogs and I'll be the first to
          admit it.
