Hi
I am new to affiliate marketing and have just been creating my first site through Wordpress. I wondered if it is worthwhile purchasing one of the plans? They keep offering me the premium plan but I am not sure. Does this plan I mean I can set up an unlimited number of sites. Also is there any other benefits these plans offer? Thanks in advance

Stick with one site unless you plan on designing and selling sites. It will take time to learn the in's and out's of running a site and getting traffic to your offers, then converting them to sales.

Are you using Wordpress.org or Wordpress.com ? The org. does not advertise unless I miss understood your post and you mean the company you purchased the theme from.

If you're talking about wordpress.com, no, I don't think it's worth buying a premium plan.
Go to a domain+hosting site, like namecheap.com, get your own domain and hosting.
Then you will see WordPress on the Control Panel. Install it, choose a theme from within the WordPress dashboard, add plugins and your content, an you're done.
It's much cheaper this way, and you will be in full control.

Thats great thanks. I already own a domain which is with 1 and 1. I thought I had to register it with WordPress so I could apply it to my site. But i'll do what you have suggested instead

Who is your hosting plan with? You'll need to go into 1and1 (where your domain is registered) and point the domain name servers (DNS) to your hosting provider. The hosting provider will give you the address of the domain name servers. There is no registration with WordPress. Find a hosting account company (I use HostGator) that offers WordPress in their dashboard (free) and multiple domains (you can get an acct for about $5/month). The hosting company will help you (if you ask) to get everything set up.

Even Siteground is good hosting service with good customer support. only thing, you need to change the nameservers to point your domain to your hosting service.

  • Is it recommended to use specific WordPress hosting? Or will regular web hosting suffice? Please excuse the newbie questions

For your first site, all you need is basic hosting for one site.

If you can tell us something more about the Premium plan that would be nice... How much is your budget currently and how much are you ready to invest? Unlimited number of the websites does not mean a lot, I prefer that you have certain number of the websites which can bring you direct benefits.
