CPA Affiliate Marketing newbie, advice appreciated

Hi all,
I am new to CPA Affiliate Marketing, I have studied courses and managed to get accepted onto a CPA network, but I am stuck. I understand you find an offer, save the URL affiliate link and ideally put that into a landing page and then promote it. I am stuck on the whole landing page part and then were to start. SEO is new to me and unsure where to start with that and also email marketing. I just want to start with simple steps and start generating an income on line, even if starts small and builds up, so gain confidence in it. I have heard of PPC but again unsure of where to start with that and would prefer starting with a low cost outlay. Any advice on landing pages would be great, can you just post direct links to offers, as I see some come with set landing opt in pages. I had thought about trying to build a website and posting links on that, but again it's new to me and SEO, and I know affiliate offers can be taken off. I would be so grateful if someone could just advise, ok step 1 etc, do this then do this, just to get me started. I want to take action and start but I am struggling to connect the CPA dots to get from A to B. Where should I even post links or a landing page for a beginner and what is the simplest landing page builder for a newbie. Many Thanks :-)

I think you are on overload. I read through your post and here's what you are asking about....

    CPA
    Affiliate Marketing
    CPA
    SEO
    email marketing
(simple to do - make income online - low investment)
    landing pages
    direct inks
    SEO
    affiliate offers
    (step by step)
    CPA
    links/landing page/simplest landing page builder

See the problem? You've 'heard about' a lot of IM buzzwords and you are touching on all of them without understanding any of them.

Everything you mention is something to learn and has potential - but you have to focus on one thing before you go to this and that and that thing over there.

You joined today - so settle in for a while - read threads in the various sections - email, ecommerce, SEO, Ad Networks....and the 'Learn' section linked in the black toolbar above.

Read enough to decide which area of online marketing you want to work in -or at to start out with and the 2-3 'methods' you'll need to learn to begin doing that ONE area.

You can't learn it all at once - but the good news is you don't need to know it all. There is no 'step by step' that can take you painlessly from "don't know" to pile of money but there are various tools/guides/threads that will help with various parts of the process.

Yeah, read 10 books about CPA and you'll know more than most people. That applies to any subject.

Learn About the Product You're Promoting
Never promote a product you have no idea about.

Always do research, see what the product is about, what are its advantages and disadvantages, and so on.

Also, it is important to know why this particular product is better than its competition.

    Learn about the market.

By this, I mean what product features are available, which are not available in competitor products, how is your product better, and why customers should buy it over the competition.

    Take a deep breath

Like someone said earlier in this thread, you're trying to do too much

Since you said you're a NEWBIE, lay off the more complicated stuff like SEO.... for now.

    Instead, focus on the following

    1) Be clear on the NICHE of the CPA offers you're promoting

    2) Get landing pages DONE at Fiverr or through Warriors for hire

    3) Get CONTENT to promote your landing pages - these are articles/blog posts

    4) Engage in targeted comment campaign where you add value by sharing info from your content and linking to them

    5) Hire a cheap VA to do #4

    6) REINVEST your CPA income to do more intensive stuff like SMM and SEO

It sounds like you might be suffering from a little bit of information overload.

I think you should decide on a traffic source next then figure out a landing page or website or whatever based on the traffic source.

    Hi!

First of all - all the offers already have landing pages, the page of the offer itself where the user will land in order to subscribe. Another thing is prelanding pages (although on forums everyone calls them landing pages anyways), is what you prepare in order to warm up your traffic and filter those users that are really interested in your offer. You don't have to always use your prelander, but it's better - normally custom ones convert better than what the offers already have. Besides, it's highly recommended to use prelanders if you are working with Sweepstakes and Coupons, etc.

Normally it's not the offer's URL that you place on your lander's Call-to-Action button, but a click URL. In order to connect the offer with your lander you'd need to use a tracker, and make all the configurations there. We actually have an article on that, check it out.

Then what you could do is to purchase traffic on ad networks or ad exchanges (like PropellerAds or Popads, etc.), and send it to the lander which you configure in a tracker together with the offer's link

I actually think this webinar will help you to understand the process of first CPA campaign creation, and what to do when.

What you shall clarify for yourself now is what traffic source are you going to use, and which verticals you want to work with (which types of offers you want to promote). Depending on that, we can help you to build up your strategy and see if you need to use landers, or you need to create a website and optimize it for SEO, etc.

Feel free to pm if you have more questions and need some doubts to be solved

You are definitely suffering from information overload right now.

The first thing you need to do is pick just one traffic source that you want to MASTER before thinking of the other options you talked about in your post. Yes, you can get traffic 20 different ways but if you don't have one consistent source, you can't make a consistent income.

Pick one thing, focus on it, study it, learn it, implement it, and then see what happens.

Expect to fail your first few campaigns but make sure you are collecting data at all times because the data is truly what will make you successful in the end.

I've been in internet marketing for 15 years and you won't find a more complete system than the one in the description. You know there's great places where it's all in one basket. Affiliate marketing, building opt-ins pages and landing pages, plus auto-responder with messages. You can use the page builders for any affiliate product. Why complicate everything? I like to keep it simple myself. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Hey there, you seems really motivated to learn and that's great.

First I would reccomand you to focus in one specific niche. Then find a CPA network. From there they should be able to guide you.
Learn one niche at the time. Try methods, do A/B tests

I'm an affiliate manager myself and I always look forward to meet motivated people just like you.

The CPA Network I work for have more than 1000 offers from different niches. From Maintream to gaming to adult. You can find almost anything.

Do your research for a Network that fit you the best. Regarding what niche you want to start with.

Here is a good list of network : https://affbank.com/cpa-networks

    Best regards

Thank you so much all, appreciate the feedback. Following your advice, I simplified things, found a niche and have been trying to promote it, with one method to start. Getting clicks but no conversions yet. It is a learning curve, but I guess we all have to start somewhere. 'Progress not perfection'

I would concentrate on learning to drive users to a squeeze page and collect their email address.

You can then follow up / push them through a funnel. As well as promote other offers.

Where if you are always paying for traffic and sending them to a landing page, statistically the overwhelming majority are not going to convert on their first visit and you will likely not turn a profit.

    -

I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offers for over 17 years.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the back-end.

Some of the verticals (niches) I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

The bulk of the PPL offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay more and less. You don't want to get too caught up on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same or possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.

I have also done just as good with dating website sign-ups and pretty good with free trial + S/H offers. I also promote a very limited number of offers that are straight up purchase offers. However, mass appeal needs to exist and I also look for one of the following...

    1) The product is new and/or novel-unique and you can't purchase it locally or even something similar. I don't waste my time with it once something similar shows up in Walmart.

    2) The buyer can truly get what is being offered at a decent discount.

    3) Solves a house is on fire type problem.

However, I mainly promote non-PPL offers on the backend.

Bottom line, it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

    Something to think about.
