Need advice on new blog

I'm looking to start a new blog (probably getting hosting by SiteGround.)
I've been hearing good things about Genesis Framework for my blog - is
that a good idea or can I do better?

Thanks in advance.

That totally depends on your goals and content.

Good point Brent! I recently started an online magazine and want to blog about my learning experience doing that, with the ultimate aim of monetizing the blog with affiliate marketing etc. So SEO would also be important.

    Hey friend,

I know how confusing it can be when starting your first blog. There are so many choices you seemingly have to make but to be honest, what framework you use is not really important right now.

What's important is that you start shipping killer content that helps your targeted audience solve their problems right now.

    The rest is just distraction.

Absolutely - I have several thousand words of killer content, but before I unleash it on a stunned and grateful world I thought I'd see if I could get
some feedback on the Genesis Framework first

I've been using Genesis and child themes for many years and have never been disappointed. It is solid, stable, secure, and has never given me a problem. I highly recommend it. I use StudioPress child themes with Genesis.

      The very best to you,

You can choose whatever theme you want. Just make sure no malware is on it, and make sure the content is good and legit.

Thanks Steve B. - I use the News Pro theme myself on my online mag, will probably go for the 'Focus Pro' with my blog I guess.

    Hello,

    If your new to this,
You should choose a theme that has what you need for your niche,
Many theme now have, built in features, shopping cart, message system, payment order system, customer section, drop ship, affiliate system built in, and much more,

So choose what you need, from a pro builder.
    Thank you
    Rob.

Here's the most important piece of ADVICE you'll EVER get:

Build your blog around EXISTING demand

Believe me, you'll thank me later.

So many blogs DIE because they're built on AIR ('build it and they will come')

Genesis is a solid, SEO friendly theme. As others have said the content of your blog will dictate its success far more than which theme you choose.

Like others have said before, I believe that the content is what will attract people more than what theme or plugins you use.

Make sure that people want your content as you're offering them a solution to a problem that they have.

That is the reason why they'd come to your blog, read it and then come again.
