Started Affiliate Marketing at Amazon! Made first 2.49$ after 3 conversion. Is this good or not?

So made few bucks at Amazon but I think 2.49$ is low for 3 conversion. What kind of products should I start promoting to get handsome revenue. I am a newbie by the way and the traffic is free and organic.

Well done on getting 3 sales,
It can take a long time to get conversions on Amazon.

You can offer more products similar to the ones that have sold and you will probably make more sales.

With Amazon promoting cheaper popular items that people are buying is a good strategy.
Although you will not make much from the cheaper items, once someone has purchased a cheap item they often purchase a more expensive one and you will receive commission from it if they purchase on the same day.

I have often found this has happened to me - I have sold one item and then the same person has bought a lot of other items not related to the first one or my website.

If you promote more expensive items people do not always buy them right away - so it can be difficult to get commissions from them.

So I would carry on doing what you are now, just try and get more visitors to your website.

The other thing you can do is to create a list of subscribers and then promote items to them in your list.

    Hope this helps.

That is a very good start if you do not make any sales in the first 90 days Amazon will close your account. You are way of head of others ! Good Job on those sales. Next step would be to get more traffic to head to Amazon. Keep working at it and remember keep to their Terms of Service. A small simple mistake can shut you down.

I used to make a lot of money from Amazon's affiliate program (until they dropped me). I had a lot of high commissions from electronic goods (such as monitors, tvs, tablets, laptops, etc).

congratulations first of all for the conversions that you already made, not at least you know how to go get it. For the products you should promote to get more income, you should check on the products lists, there normally you could see the differents products, and the percentage you can make out of any sell. I will like to let you know that running for the products with more percentage per sell is not really a good idea more if you don't really know much about those products. You should try to learn how to add some products related to what you are promoting initially, so that you can make some more money!

How about promoting audible books on Amazon, there is a 30 day free trial with audible and after the 30 days the customer will continue and pay the monthly fee

For 3 conversions, $2.49? How much work did you put in to make that $2.49? That should let you know right there if you should consider promoting low commission products... vs creating your own and pricing them for higher prices.

you are doing well my friend. Keep it up. You can also consider influencer marketing in the future to reach more audience and potential buyers. Phlanx is a notable platform should you need one.

two dollars is fine. you won't make much at first unless your traffic explodes and you have a very good quality site.

and until you get the higher numbers like 8%, you won't make really anything even from high sales. you sell a $200 item and get only a couple bucks. Sucks at first. Stick in there. Could be 2 to 5 years before you make any real money.

You made your first commission of $2.49 is low as per 3 conversion. So you should promote products from which you will get highest amount of commission and I think those product list you will get from Amazon affiliate program terms and conditions.

Do your keywords research and find the most profitable niche then set up Amazon niche sites to get yourself sales in the profitable and in-demand niches. You're already doing well just take it to the next level and make some technical adjustments in your overall strategy.

What popular products do your competitors promote?

    Research and find out.

    Then start promoting them too.

    Great job!

I've never tried using Amazon's affiliate program but I know from others' experience it can be a little tough.

Now that you know how to turn those leads into conversions, keep at it!

If I click on your affiliate link that takes me to a $2000 bike but I end up buying a $30 shirt, you get paid commission on the shirt.

If you're good at promoting, sometimes, people buy what you promote and something else (this, over a long period of time, balances out those who only buy something cheap, not what you promote).

As to what you should promote? Look at how much per sale Amazon pays, and divide whatever number you have in mind as good income per sale by that percentage.

You want to make 20/sale on items that Amazon pages 4%?

    20/4%=500.

Amazon tells you in their affiliate pages how much they're paying... last I looked (and it was a couple of years ago), most things were 4% of cost of items.

Also, keep in mind that this matters too number of sales you can make.

    10 sales at $40=$400
    1000 sales at $0.50=$500

Hey, every sale is a sale, you just need to ramp it up now. Once you have the basics right, it is all about driving traffic to your pages. There are many strategies out there to drive traffic, and building a list in a specific niche will serve you well

Just be sure to be giving out lots of useful free content to your subscribers if you can, even you can direct users to some sort of review you have carried out. Within your posts you can then offer up some of your affiliate links.

    All the best with it

    Chris

Good start!I started to write blog related to website construction and in the meanwhile earn commission from hosting service, now i have been awarded to
400$ commission,it is not big profit but I will keep on writing the valuable stuff for my readers.

The most important thing at the beginning is if you are creating valuable content not how much commission you earn.

That is the exact reason i do not promote Amazon products, the commissions are just too darn low and not worth my time. If you still decide to promote Amazon products you can search for high ticket items that are best seller on there.

Or another option is to promote products that are in a lot of demand - even if they are cheap.

What will happen is people will purchase the cheap item then often buy other items - the average spend on Amazon is $50 - so you can make more money even with lower cost items.

    Great !!

ofcourse its good . you are a newbie and you just made some money

now you have to increase that 3 to 30 or 300 or more

since you got free organic traffic, check your stats and find your visitors interests and adjust accordingly

Getting traffic is most difficult part and you just overcame that obstacle and got paid....something

    That's good.

In any business there are three parameters you can change for success.

    1. Increase Customer. - Instead of asking is 3 customers good. Ask what is the goal I want to achieve and am I closer to the goal. You should get your answer there. Now you need to increase your sales so that you can get more revenue. If 3 customer is $2.50 you need at least 3000 customer to make $2500. So figure that out and start making money.

    2. Increase Price - You can also see if there are products related to your niche that you can sell. When promoting Amazon you should promote products that give you at least $10 to $20 per sale. That will require less traffic and less conversions to achieve the same result.

    3. Improve Process - This is all about automation of your sales process. How you are getting these sales matter a lot. If you are getting this sales on Autopilot then you did not spend any of your time to get the sales. This is very good. But if you spent a lot of time getting the sales then you need to think what you can do to improve your process and remove yourself from the process. E. G. If you write a high traffic attracting blog then you are creating an asset that will work once it is setup correctly. Or if you have a YouTube channel again you can make a video that will bring you sales for life time.

So look at this three factors and build a strategy that will help you achieve your goals. But first clearly define your goals so you know where you are going and whether you are going to reach or not.

    Stay focused. Stay rich.

    Some good points Amit,

although sometimes I have used your process 2) but instead of increasing the price I have added great bonuses and made the product more attractive, this has lead to an increase in sales!
