warriorplus and the privacy law

I refer to systems like warriorplus or payhip,
they are networks that offer the possibility of uploading free (but also paid) products to the download cart, in exchange for e-mail only,
this is definitely a great way to collect emails,
but I wonder, if this is legitimate for the privacy law,
since when entering the email for download as any auto responder does, they should have a checkbox for your privacy

is there anything I do not consider?

    Several things. Laws vary from country to country. You should be asking those sites through their customer service desks if you have a concern about legality.

    I doubt anyone setting up such a visible and large business online would do so without legal advice on adhering to privacy laws. For that reason I think they could easily answer your concerns.

    I know what you mean by the 'checkbox' but I've seen few of those lately - they may be 'old style' design.

    sorry for my late reply,
    however in most of the world including the United States and Europe and the spam-act law, provides for the prior consent of the terms of privacy
    maybe the only loophole is if you make a purchase and then send news related to the previously purchased product, in this case you can do (perhaps without the privacy terms)
    and here is the point to configure a zero-purchase purchase button is not a purchase but a gift.
    in regards to sending him an email and asking them and asking a seller if the product is good, the answer is obvious
    that's why I request an external opinion
    if anyone knows more .....

      it's a $0.00 purchase. It may be considered a point of semantics.

      The U.S. anti-spam laws are unclear with regard to a $0.00 purchase, but...
      try getting the product without providing your email address.

      Think about it. If the "seller" isn't going to send you follow up emails, why does he need your email address? To deliver your "product"?

      No. If there were no "price" he could just as easily provide your download link right on the sales page -
      instead of asking for your email address and sending the download link via email.

      Given that you provided your email address for a $0 product, isn't it obvious that your email address is your cost of purchase?

      Note - the EU may be a little more anal about this. They may not feel that the exchange of an email address for a product constitutes a "purchase". (After all... they even require that you ask permission to collect cookies on your web site),

    Warriorplus is not part of nor owned by the Warrior Forum - as your question hasn't been answered to your satisfaction, contact them.

    I'm sure the WP customer service reps can explain it to you in a way that makes more sense to you.
