What are your skills? Based on that people here can suggest you sites where you could offer your services.

My skills are: good at time management, office assistant, was thinking about becoming a virtual assistant. I am creative, i do sewing and knitting. I sell upcycled clothing online and I create ladies purses from recycled fabric. I speak perfect English ... written and spoken...so I could tutor English. I am able to tutor math ...elementary level. I am passionate about health so I have a lot of knowledge in this topic, especially functional medicine and I enjoy helping people with health and weight problems. I am interested in helping people with relationship issues as i have knowledge in non violent communication and also attended the landmark education forums.

I think you should have a look at sites like Freelancer.com, PeopleperHour.com, UpWork.com, Guru.com. You can find virtual assistants and translators jobs over there.

If you sell clothes and create ladies purses from recycled fabric you can also have a look at Etsy, Artfire, DaWanda and similar sites.

The two things that stand out to me are : freelance writing and Virtual Assistant

I'd suggest you do google and forum search on how to get started in those two areas - and read/learn/apply.

Freelance writing is a great way to make some money quickly - but you need to learn how to enter the field, how to place bids or get buyers. There are excellent blogs devoted to this topic that are free tutorials.

You mentioned freelance writing...is that from my mention of health and relationship knowledge? I am self taught and did not earn a degree in either of these topics

    chpenny,

Just from reading your two posts in this thread, it seems to me that you write well (good spelling and grammar) and are organized in your thinking. I think you would do well as a writer in a health market sub niche. Health is a huge field, but if you specialize and use your knowledge and passion in one core area, you can be successful.

You said: "I enjoy helping people with health and weight problems"

Dig deep down into this subject and identify an audience that you would like to serve - there will be many because health and weight problems are common to lots of folks. Specialize - that will be the key. Just as an example: you could become the "go to" authority on "controlling your weight for moms with little time to exercise" or something else unique that plays to your strengths.

As Kay says, you will need to spend a little time and research in learning how to enter the writing "scene" and how to find and procure writing bids, but you can figure that out - I have no doubt. Income won't be immediate, but it doesn't have to take months either - maybe a few weeks.

You never know, if you give this all you've got it might become your sole source of income because talented writers in the health marketplace are sorely needed.

    The very best to you,

    Steve

Thank you Steve, I've taken notes on what you have said. I created a wordpress website last month on banishing food cravings and still learning how to write enticing blog posts (signed up for a blog post writing course on Udemy)....it will take a few weeks to add more content to the website though!

Have to disagree - I would stay away from Fiverr altogether.

I would look at google results for "freelance writing" - check out 'Elite Writers Lab' by Ron Douglas and Alice Seba (long time WF members) and other similar sites that feature freelancing as a business. Many of those premium sites have free info and $1 trials, too.

Yes, you can write on health and etc - best to focus on several 'fields'. When I started freelancing years ago I had four specialty areas but worked in other topics, too. I chose four subjects that interested me - where I had some knowledge and would enjoy learning more with research.

Equally important is to identify what DOESN'T interest you and avoid taking work in those areas. For me, that was tech stuff like cell phones, etc - booooring. When I'm bored by a subject, can't write well on it.

Take a bit of time and learn to build your profile on freelance sites - learn to set prices that suit you and buyers - learn about keyword use and article structure, etc. I started freelancing on Elance - which is now Upwork - two weeks of serious bidding (50-100 bids a day) and I had almost more work than I could handle for the next 3 weeks. At the time I was in a rough spot and admittedly, I worked far more than most people would want to work in a month! It paid off. Earned $2k first month and it went up from there.

Goal is not to 'write for freelance sites' but to establish yourself as a writer and get your own clients that are 'repeat buyers'. It can be demanding - I worked 20 hrs or more several times to meet a deadline. It's also flexible and once you have established yourself a bit you can work as much or as little as you want.

It may not be what you want - but it's a possibility that might be a good fit.

As you know that you're passionate about health. So make a blog of health and write topics everyday . Share these topics to many social media accounts like fb , instagram , twitter and on other polpular platforms , You will get the handsome traffic source on your website And you will then able to approve your adsense this way , People do more searches about health . A man should do such things in which he is the best. This way you can earn some extra money .

Perhaps look at it this way, If you are not in such a hurry then you should spend a few months writing good articles here on the WF. Write one or a few each day, and really kick butt at it. Make each one better than the last.

You may build up a solid reputation here and people may pay you some decent money for your work. It could even grow into a decent WSO too. Who knows, maybe by spring or summer of this year you could be doing very well for yourself.

I'm not a professional, but this just makes some sense to me. I say just go for it, what harm can it bring you?

chpenny, try posting them into The Main Internet Marketing Forum. If you somehow post it in the wrong section, a moderator sill kindly tell you where it really goes to. I'm not kidding, write several everyday, you will in no doubt build your reputation quickly. It's free, and it's really no harm on your part.

When you post your articles, forum members will probably make comments about your post. Listen to what others have to say, communicate and grow with the forum. I plan on doing very well on the forum this year no matter what.

They will be deleted - this isn't an article directory. If you persist on posting 'articles' here sooner or later one of the mods will ban you. Well meant advice - but don't do it.

There are a number of work-from-home-sites, but what you will find is that the ones that pay well have a lot of competition for the relatively few jobs, OR the site does not pay well, consistently, or has other problems.

If you enjoy writing you could try the various writing services out there. HireWriters is a good one, I think.

    Three things:

    1. if you want to 'thank' someone - please use the "thanks" button rather than posting about it

    2. the thread is devolving into spam comments and promotional links - take the best of the advice and run with it.

    3.
.it will take a few weeks to add more content to the website though!
Why? Are you sure there is enough 'meat' in that particular niche to keep writing about? Are you an expert or is it just 'an idea'? Write an article a day - if you find there's nothing to write about - the niche may be too narrow.

One more tip - learn to recognize which members are giving advice and which are blowing smoke.
