5 "Boring" Steps To Internet Profits That Might Offend You

I'm going to be frank with you..

How long have you been trying to make this internet Marketing "thing" work?

Too long right?

Well if you're not creating and launching products or affiliate campaigns then you don't have and will never have a real sustainable online business.

That's the truth plain and simple.

If that offends or shocks you then good I'm NOT sorry.

If you're not selling something, whether yours or someone else's for a cut of the pie then how do you expect to make any money?

I hope this thread really p*sses you off until you take action and start making things work for you

I get it... You're overwhelmed and confused right now there's so much conflicting information and so many shiny objects out there

But everything boils down to getting a relevant offer in front of the right audience

That's all you need to figure out how to do.

Forget all the overpriced wizz bang software's and complex funnels they are just created to rid your pocket of your hard earned cash

If you're tired of your lack of results then just follow these five steps...

These 5 steps have lasted the test of time and no matter what happens in the future they will still be relevant

Whether virtual reality takes over, Facebook decides to rule the world or the internet itself ceases to exist

These 5 steps will work because they are not just limited to the interwebs or information marketing alone

So no more dilly dallying lets dive in...

Step 1 - Discover your niche

Pretty basic stuff but most people do it wrong.

You can search out a niche that you are passionate about or already have a skill in but the most important thing is are people already spending money in the niche?

Are there Amazon books, magazines, coaching programs?

Competition is your friend my friend, don't go re-inventing the wheel it already works fine
Facebook copied myspace and made it better, Uber used a proven model and made it better, AirBnB saw what worked and made it better

If these humunggamous (large) companies have become wildly successful without re-inventing the wheel why do you want to be the crash test dummy making the never before thought of wizzbang widget

Find a market that's already spending money and offer them something better than the competition.

Step 2 - Identify a pressing problem to solve

You can't just go and create a product in the hopes people buy it

You must identify a problem people are having in the niche and are willing to spend money for the solution

The key point here is, "willing to spend" for the solution

Step 3 - Find the solution to the problem

If you're already an expert in your field then great you know the solution

But if not don't worry it's not a big deal you just need to know enough to get the person with the problem their intended outcome

Solve one problem with one solution

Just a side note, If you read the top 5 books on a subject (Highly niche'd down subject)...

You will be more knowledgeable than 95% of the population on that subject (cool huh?)

Step 4 - Create your solution

You have identified a market (niche) you have found a problem people are having and already spending the green stuff to solve now it's time for you to create your solution

You can create a word doc and save it as a PDF and you have your very own ebook, you can record a video using the built in web cam on your laptop, or talk into the camera on your phone

You can record audio or help people on Skype one to one

There is no point getting hung up on this, at the end of the day it is all about your customer and helping them get the result.

What will help them best and what's easiest for you. As long as you really help them solve their problem most won't care how it comes they just want the results it can bring.

Alternatively You can send them to someone else's solution as an affiliate and take a cut of the profits in commission.

Step 5 - Get it into their hands

This is where you actually get it out to the market

Driving traffic, getting leads and customer. You're now in business baby

===========================================

It seems people are getting their panties in a twist about traffic so I will add this...

Step 5 is EASY traffic is EVERYWHERE if you have money, solo ads, Facebook ads, Adwords etc if you have the money you can buy all the traffic you want.

What is hard is converting that traffic to money. Conversion is the hard part getting that traffic profitably is where the challenge lies and that is what entrepreneurship is about, over coming challenges. If you are treating this like a hobby it will pay like one, if you treat it like a business it could pay you like one too.

Bonus step - Rinse and repeat

Create more products / solutions in other markets or in the same market, Create up-sells (If it's your own product), become an authority etc

The sky is the limit and nothing can hold you back but your desire for more.

Hope this was helpful and motivates some of you to get up and get some work done.

Let me know what you are currently working on

The real reason people fail is with Step 5...driving traffic / generating leads.

It is also probably the main factor that holds users back from getting started with steps 1-4. As you mention you can basically skip the entire process and promote someone else's offer as an affiliate.

You even say "everything boils down to getting a relevant offer in front of the right audience" But again, it all comes down to step 5.

Unfortunately... everything would be simply a B.S. when it comes to step #5. The real thing is in step #5. This is NOT easy somehow!

Good post Jouvan, but i would like to add a Step 6:

    - Automate!

This is how you wake up with money in the bank, or go outside and do something - and come back in the house with sales & and systems still going without you touching a thing.

IMO, successful business, unfortunately, is much more complex than five simple steps that can be recited in a minute or two.

The view from 40,000 feet is so much different than the view on the ground (which, btw, is the one that makes or breaks a business, in my experience). It's the details of every day execution that separates the winners and losers.

You can hand a person a card that tells them:
"Drive traffic, get leads and customers. You're now in business baby."
It's quite something else to actually go out and execute that step cost effectively.

Your steps are good . . . but it has been my experience that they are not enough to be helpful to a newbie without much more detail applied to the skeleton.

Good post and advantage to selling your own products is that you ultimately control how much profit you make on every sale and you therefore have the potential for the biggest profit margin.

BUYING traffic is EASY (if you have money). But GETTING traffic IS NOT. We are talking about real traffic for a fortune here, right? And for ordinary people, right? By the way, I mean "getting traffic" is everything from making the traffic come to us until it's converted and make profit.

That's just one approach, there are loads of ways to make money online.

    - Dropshipping
    - Ecommerce
    - Starting an agency
    - App development
    - Offering services on Fiverr, Upwork, Turk etc
    - More I haven't given time to think about

I'd encourage people to find something they enjoy doing, and stick with that one method until it works.

For the record, creating and selling products is my preferred method but I've had success with many other business models.

It's more about mindset than the method, for me.

By me saying creating and launching products I did also mean services and physical products too, I should have been more specific.

What I mean is people need to SELL something lol.

And I totally agree with you that the mindset is the MOST important part but is usually over looked.

I'm glad you're so witty and smart but if you've ever tried to help anyone get ahead in this industry you would be shocked at the amount of people spending Godly amounts on traffic products when they haven't even got an offer.

Nice post but I have to agree that Step 5 is the money maker and easily the toughest. I have completed steps 1-4 and was feeling on top of the world. It didn't take me long to realize that step 5 is by far the hardest part of this business. I have a great product that I know is successful from first hand experience but no one knows about it. Getting quality traffic isn't too hard but it is expensive. Converting that traffic is very hard and the sample size required to gather data and improve conversions is extremely costly.

A nice little acronym that is (at least in part) incorrect!
Maybe just a little too broad.

First, what is "One Course", and just how much is involved in "One Course"?
Say I want to be an affiliate marketer. Great! I do all of the things that I
"Supposedly" am suppose to do, over, and over, but still there is something
missing. 1 year, 2 years, and only a handful of sales.

I am following "One Course", but because there is much more to just
trying be affiliate market, I end up spinning my wheels.

Also, at what point are you successful? Only if you define what your
success will look like ahead of time will you know when you have
reached being a success. New "Success" goals can always be set
once the first one is reached.

I agree with your premise, and your short "1-2-3" scenario, but there is so
much more going on in the online marketing world these days, and more
changes, and new concepts continue to erupt, that it is no wonder that
so many people get completely lost in all of the hype, marketing clutter,
mistrust, and personal discouragement that seems to go with any kind of
        marketing attempts these days.

It still boils down to basics (as you point out), but the basics have
seemingly become more complex, at first glance.

Maybe it is just that there are really so many more avenues to
explore, that it seems like a great idea to try to cash in on all
of them at once. Let me know how that works for you.

        We already know!

That is why FOCUS should be done in small parts of a larger picture.
Focus on one part of your larger goal and finish it. Then the next,
        and so on.

Step 5 - Get it into their hands

This is where you actually get it out to the market

Driving traffic, getting leads and customer. You're now in business baby

Nope...........this is where it "sucks" !!! getting traffic is the most toughest thing newbies and even experienced marketers suffer.....

If you master that then you can sell anything

      WRONG!

Conversions is what is difficult. You can buy all the traffic you want but if the offer is crap no one will buy your offer. You have it backwards.

I will copy and paste what I wrote above

"See I disagree step 5 is EASY traffic is EVERYWHERE if you have money, solo ads, Facebook ads, Adwords etc if you have the money you can buy all the traffic you want.

What is hard is converting that traffic to money. Conversion is the hard part getting that traffic profitably is where the challenge lies"

You can higher people to send all the traffic you want but if you haven't got a business to send that traffic to you are set up to fail.

That's what every noob will have to learn through the hard way, no one joind internet marketing as is willing to work and do something for the community or the niche he is in, all join to make quick buck out of nothing. i remember back in 2010 when i was following the herd and buy every shiny object i stumble upon in hope to make millions next week, years after i figured out that if you are not willing to work hard and create something that helps the community in a way you aren't going to make a dime, and only after putting in my funnel and delivering good content that i started feeling what means making money from the internet. and i think the easiest way to go about for any newbie it is start blogging .

Yeah we all had to learn the hard way. I think most of us do come into this industry with a warped mentality probably formed by the hyped sales letters telling us we can make millions over night without doing much work at all.

Congrats with your success and your funnel so far.

Those are some proven steps for newbies to follow....

However, the reality is that there are going to be obstacles and roadblocks on your path to success. Following those 5 steps will get you going, but what's going to determine your success is what you do when you're faced with an obstacle or a roadblock. Will you figure out how to maneuver past the obstacle or will you give up or even turn back?

Some of the obstacles newbies may face include:

    - Lack of technical skills
    - Lack of discipline
    - Lack of feedback
    - Lack of proper guidance
    - Lack of money
    - Lack of time
    - And the list goes on and on

If you refuse to give up and you take an intelligence > emotional approach to success, then you may figure this stuff out on your own, but if you really want to be successful then I highly recommend you find a mentor or at least get around people who are doing what you want to do and are doing it successfully.

You can open the door by running into it over and over until it breaks down, or you can find somebody who will give you the key to open the door.

    Thanks for the post.

I agree with what some said that traffic is the biggest problem for some however traffic can be found in many places.

In my opinion, it's more that people are scared to pay money / invest time to create content that drives that traffic.

It's funny how people are willing to spend money on new products but don't want to spend that same money on driving potential customers to their website or funnel.
