Do Link out's hurt my Blog

Hello, There are a lot of sites that I have found with high pr that are willing to place links to my blog in exchange for links to their sites. My question is, will having too many links pointing out hurt my blog even if I us the no follow for them and is there ant way around this if so?

I'm talking a couple thousand in the long run

    Hm... IMO a couple thousand links is never good for any small websites.

    However, since you're putting a nofollow tag on it, then I'm guessing that it wouldn't hurt your blog that much since there are lots of blogs with thousands of spammy comments which have the nofollow tag applied to them but still rank well.

    Google seems to be the only search engine that anyone cares about. Links going out of your site tell them about your site. So as long as you send the right message no problem.

    And Google crawls nofollow ... so it's not like you are tricking them.

      I'm not trying to trick anyone, I know that Google Crawls I watch their videos but this is not a point they talk about or at least that I have been able to find. The question is will the links hurt my site rankings or not?
