Is "etheft" increasing?

This question is for the old-timers, of course. Hearing about these thefts is really taking the wind out of my sails, before I even really get started.
At this point I'm only in for the cost of a domain and a year of hosting, a few days studying here at WF, and a few hours writing. So far. Hate to think I'll regret it later...

    It depends, etc....

Products are now often source. There ARE products to try to hide the source, but they are clunky, etc... ALSO, there are various resource files, etc... That means PROGRAMS can be stolen. The same is true of data. Many earlier services didn't protect various areas, so they WERE easier to hijack. That is less true now. Cookies used to ALWAYS work if you did them right, and now may not.

SO, some things have gotten harder, and some have gotten easier.

    C'est la vie...

Depends upon how you look at it.. I have been online for over 23 years, have things changed .. Well yeah drastically over the years things have changed and they still continue to change.

Theft or Warez has been around for many years and it is not going away anytime soon. The more technology that is created the more useful ways they find to steal. Many of these warez groups and members will just fill their harddrives up with ebooks, useless scripts, graphics, templates, and etc.. but the thing is that is all they do fillup their harddrives and for the most part they never even read that ebook.. They just want to post and "share" as they call it to make them selves look good to the warez community.

I protect all of my stuff as a developer and not one of my scripts has ever been stolen or slapped into warez. I am sure you can find my graphics or templates that I have designed though .. As we all know once you sell that ebook, report, or whatever it is then there is not much you can do after it is sold.

I would not let it discourage me if I was you.. Just protect yourself as much as you can and protect your server.

    James
