HELP! I bought 21 automated websites but I lack a clue on how to earn from them.

I am desperate to make money online reading about how many people started with close to zero budget some in the last past years and some few months then decided to take a leap of faith to buy some automated websites - from a buyer on flippa - and start making money as the buyer put it.
The downside is that, I do not know how to send traffic to these websites and I am out of budget to get paid traffic.

Anybody out there that has an ultimate solution for me regarding what I did wrong and/or what I can do to start making money from those automated websites?

These are some of the websites:
1. survivaltips.press
2. thelifehacks.win
3. sportssports.club
4. marketingebook.trade
5. funnyanimals.stream
6. moviestrailers.site
7. cannabisrecipes.website
8. gamingconsole.site
9. goviralcity.site
10. sportsupplements.win

Just feel like adding some links because of the encouraging response received.

You are onto something here, but be careful not taking on more than you can handle.

21 website are a bit too much to manage. I would recommend to start only with a few (5 or so) and go from there. I'm even not sure of giving such advice because if I was you I would build one at a time. That's the smart way to approach this.

What you should do is check the analytics and domain authority of each website and start with the ones with the best data.

There are many ways to drive traffic to a website online. You just need to learn them and implement consistently.

Make sure your websites are fully optimize with email marketing and well-monetized. If you are not building an email list, you should. You can use free services like MailChimp if you have a small budget.

Now, invest some time learning the many ways to drive traffic online. Here is a very helpful blog post that will teach you a lot on traffic generation. These tips work for blog posts but you can apply the same for any website (https://internetmarketingblog101.com...heet-for-free/)

    Keep on moving forward!

You will make it happen! Just keep going!

    Hey AdeSam,

The worrying phrase is "automated websites." What you have there is a sales phrase intended to convert newbies who think they can buy some websites and instantly turn on the cash. It's worrying because such websites tend to be duds. You don't sound like one of those newbies - which is obviously good - because you're in a position now where you know traffic and hard work is required. Upshot: the sites probably ARE duds but all isn't lost. The chap above, FreedomBlogger, gave some cracking advice. I'll chip in some, too.

You need to get earning. What you don't want to do is turn this into a passion project or (worse) throw yourself into trying to get a handful of sites turning a profit. I can tell you now, the chances of that happening? About the same as Mrs. A finding me attractive in a lemon-coloured thong. (Not very likely.) Your best option now is to go after the money. Seek it out. Forget building an empire. Forget building an authority site. Those things can come later, when you can breath a little easier and have some money rolling in. What you want to do is figure out which is the best website to use - and use it.

    Think of it this way.

You have Website A. Between Website A and Money, you have a number of walls. In order for you to begin earning money? You need to break down those walls. You break them down? Money can flow to the website - and to you. Question is, what walls are we talking about? The first is website design. The second will be content. Third, monetization. Fourth, audience collection. Once you have those 4 walls destroyed? You have a website capable of converting traffic into money. Speaking of which - traffic. This is your last wall. The free traffic sources working very well for most of us in 2018: YouTube, Instagram. Facebook, Twitter, and Google-Plus. There are hundreds of other sources, but those come with two distinct benefits: you can grow your audience and you can employ viral marketing for further growth.

You have your work cut out, but you're in the right place to learn and take sensible action.

All the best to you, matey.

    Cheers,

    Tom

21 websites at once is a lot but all hope is not lost.

Since you said you don't have a budget for paid traffic, I would advice you put in the effort to get things rolling. So, you have to start with the sites that have the best potential for going viral. I guess you made this research before buying a whole of 21 sites. (winks)

The first thing I would advice you to do is to put adsense on all of them. If you don't have an adsense account yet, that is a different issue entirely but lets assume you have it, so put in your adsense code on all of them.

In order to start driving free traffic, I would advice that for each website you have a twitter, Facebook page, pinterest, tumblr and google plus account; and Instagram (depending on the niche). Yes, that seems a lot but if it were to be only one site it would have been easy. Immediately I create a website, that is the first thing I do, and since your websites are automated, these accounts will always be updated with fresh content

21 is way too many websites for someone to take on - especially at the very beginning of their eCommerce journey.

Start with the one that has the most potential for profit and rankability. Analyze what keyword phrases you have a chance of ranking for and optimize pages of the site around that content. Get backlinks to the site by creating content that people will actually want to link to. Build up a social following on the big social networks by posting links to interesting things you find online that your target audience would like.

Then, move onto site #2 ... then site number 3 ... etc.

You can either have 21 sites that are never finished that never make a dime for you or tackle them one at a time and have at least one, then two, then three ... that earn their keep.

Oh, and in the future, only buy websites that are already making profits. Building a website is easy. Earning money with one is a whole different thing.

At this point in your journey, I'm going to offer some contrarian advice.

Don't start with the site that may have the best stats or potential. Start with one of the others, and make your big mistakes (and we all made them) where it will hurt you the least.

Think of it as learning to cook with $2/lb round steak before you tackle $18/lb ribeye.

Since you aren't starting with the "best" site, you probably won't get rich, but you will learn. Then take that learning and use it on the "best" sites.

    You could:
    Start a YouTube Channel
    • Record it as a 20 minute podcast episode and reach a new audience
    • Create a short SlideShare of the key points
    • Make a juicy-list post of all your evergreen content and it's key points
    • Update an entire post and explain your new findings
    • Turn it into a quick, five minute video

You can't just expect an ultimate solution to be posted on a forum thread.

How are these sites automated? Do they generate content from other sites?

Search for on-site and off-site SEO methods. Also search for monetization methods and ad networks.

You need to invest time and effort on studying traffic generation methods for websites.

Two simple methods you can try, that are old but tested and proven, is to post on forums related to the market niches of your sites(using forum signature), and comment on blogs, leaving the link to one of the sites on your comment.

You can learn a lot, for instance, at QuickSprout university.

Try to focus on one site and one traffic method at the time.

Did they come with any social media accounts? How intact are the sites? Do you need to edit the content? Or add to it?
Focus on the sites from top money maker down and begin to post off page to social sites and twitt, snap, penterest and so forth to get attention to one or more topics on those sites.
21 sites all at once is a lot to bite off. Could you turn around and sell about 15 of those? All the best.

I propose this question to this issue to see what others think, but couldn't @AdeSam create a yahoo style main brand umbrella website and have each website as a "section" so he could focus on just that website and social media to make it more manageable? Then he has all the websites coming in as links and vice versa in google? So it's main brand linking to each topic related website. Maybe one of the websites is general interest and you could use it as your main one. If say some of the niches of sites are close in topic then link them together. That's what I would do, and then sell a few.

So for example say out of the 21 websites you have 5 that are about skin care and another 5 that are about cars, I would choose the mainstream brand of each topic and have that serve as the main brand and have the other 4 websites link back and forth to each other. So you focus on the main sites for each niche/topic and then whoever lands on the other 4 will be driven back to the main one as well.

        here's some examples:
https://fusion.tv/ -it's a tv network that recently bought out a few websites and they have them listed as sections on their website yours will look the same but clearly you would group sites together with same topics or sectors

another is Bravo tv Bravo TV Official Site they have sub brand blog sites at top bar across page.

So I would group together the sites in the same field so that instead of having 21 sites you pair it down to say 5 sites with sub websites under each topic.

skin website that is main site > 5 skin sites
car site that is main > 5 car sites
        etc.

Sell off some, even if it's the best one 21 is a lot. You could even sell off some sites in the same topic as bundle on flippa

You could sell them back to the person you bought it from and get a refund. If you dont know how to make money with 1 site... what are you going to do with 21? Is this your first online venture?

Thanks again Thikushmanmediallc! I checked the links, not really sure I get what you mean. The bar across bravo is just another page each.

Yea that's the setup so you would just have each be the websites and not a page. It's just linking back and forth so whatever is the main brand per group is linked to a site and the site is linked back. So you get your own back links and shared audience per topic/niche. Not silver bullet but then you could focus on one site with 4 sites linked off of it. I would sell what you can though.

Yeah getting encouragement when you shouldn't get it is not doing you any favors. You are obviously not going to like my post then

The sites are garbage. You have been had and what could be worse than being had? being had again by trying to make duds profitable. . All the butterflies and daisy posts telling you you are in a good place and can use these duds to good effect yada yada yada are TOTAL nonsense.

My bet is half the posters (or more) haven't even looked at the sites before they offered their advice. Lets take a look at one to see what you bought. Heres a page

How To Catch A Crab In A Bamboo Trap (Tropical Island 8 of 14) - Survival Tactics

Problem. A search in google indicates its page content is is just scraped from other sites. Take this phrase "Hi, my name is Lilly and I like spending time in nature to practice my survival and bushcraft skills"

    https://www.google.com/search?num=10....0.Wq7PYv-OyK4

scraped duplicate content used apparently hundreds of times - Issue? you can kiss any real Search engine traffic goodbye because its duplicate content. Worse you could get DMCA notices

does it end there? Nope some of the sites are riddled with 404 errors. The tlds used are notorious for having low first year rates (sometimes under a dollar ) followed by much higher renewal rates.

As you can see here the pages have no real readable engaging content. its again just a scrape (basically a bot that reads pages off other sites (you tube and facebook) and writes it to a page - a number of such bots exist for wordpress)

Compound Bow VS Recurve Bow! Which is better?? - Survival Tactics

Here the scrape isn't even good as it makes references to links that do not exist (probably because going to those links would show the site is just a scrape form other sites)

Unless you bought multiple sites with the same content there is even indications the seller has sold sites just like it before (they show up in the phrase searches)

Why in the world should you throw good money after bad and throw time and effort into a site that has such CLEAR negatives to begin with? It would be better to start with even ONE new one that doesn't have such HUGE issues and has an actual business model.

the only lesson you should learn from this is one key one - NEVER EVER start ANY venture or business without a clear idea of how you are going to get customers. Your approach here was entirely backward (don't worry on WF alone you will see people every day doing the same thing - and others advising them how to) and if you learn its traffic first you will finally make money.

I know this is not what you want to hear. We all want encouragement when we have thrown money down the toilet but flushing the toilet instead of wasting more time and money to turn the contents of the toilet into gold just ends up sucking all of yourself into the toilet completely before the forced flush.

Spending all your money on those sites with no money left to advertise , nothing really to advertise and thinking about that only after the money was gone was not smart. If you can see that and own it then that was then and you are smarter now.

if you are persuaded its all good then you won't have learned the one thing that could be learned.

Best advice is hard to hear truth. These domain extensions are crap. Your best way recap your loss is goto fiverr and pay someone make these sites into an amazon affiliate site. Write 5 real and unique content reviews for each site. Then try and resell each site. If your lacking money you can try listing sites for sale on craigslist or kijijii.
These extensions will be very difficult to rank and autoblogging was okay decade ago but today not so much.
What pitch made you want buy these sites? Utilize that same motivation to resell them.
Or you can sell backlinks on fiverr on your new PBN network.

If you don't have money to pay for traffic, you can turn your spare time into FREE traffic

Of course, the traffic is not really free since you paid for it with your time.

I suggest you set up an FB page for each of your blogs

Populate it with scheduled content from each blog

Mix in the highest quality curated 3rd party content you can find

Promote your blog by joining many niche-related FB groups and cross posting there

This is a long term game but if you are able to invest 2 to 3 hours daily to growing your FB page, you can get some decent traffic from your FB page network to your blogs

The websites actually look decent and are filled with content. Though I don't really understand what "automated website" means. The problem is that they have bad domains and zero SEO. These websites literally do not exist on google, and it will take a lot of money to make them exist. Some are in such niches that they will probably never exist on google even with big money put into them.

80% of the traffic still comes from google. I know social media is big, but google will always be nr 1. I am not experienced at all in how things go with social-media-only sites, but I've heard of websites that work well like that and know this is a thing.

So what's the big question here ? These are social media websites, so promote them there. Join all the groups related to them, etc. I've read around here about automated tools for social media that most people use, but I am not knowledgeable in this field. You need to do it all automatic since these are 21 websites not 5. All the traffic for them will come from social media, no google at all, so this takes constant work that should be automated. I guess this is how this method is supposed to work. You buy these things, automate the social media, let them make money.

What I don't understand is why 21 ? And how much did they cost ? Is that content really auto-generated or did the builder actually wrote that ? It doesn't even matter since they are not for google so if they get deindexed it will not be a problem. But I find it strange that such content can be built by a machine.

Hi AdeSam. Buying 21 automated websites is simply too much for you. Anyway, in order to make money, you have either invest your money or time to promote all your websites.

Anyway, before you do anything, make sure you check out the relevant areas for you to promote. For example, if your niche in selling e-book related to healthcare, go the the Google and FB pages to find these groups of people who share the same interests. Once you do that, you would see more people visiting your website in time to come. Hope it helps.
