Blogging Tips For New Bloggers: Top 5 Blogging Tips

I have recently noticed some drawbacks among the so-called veteran bloggers and a lot of them have given up due to their failure to follow fundamental blogging tips . I began my research to find out the real cause of the drawbacks and discovered that they didn't base their online business activities on fundamentals of blogging.

They didn't figure out that working the blogging techniques with the right energy will lead to huge success. Most influential bloggers too have this challenge. What I strongly think was the cause of this problem is that they didn't learn blogging strategies properly and, so. they wouldn't be able to apply those strategies to their blogging activities.

To start blogging the right way, it becomes necessary to learn blogging efficiently and the following blogging tips will help both newbie and veteran bloggers out.

Tip 1 - Prepare To Become Successful: While starting out online with a website, you need to set a money goal which has a lot to do with how much you would be ecstatic earning and the amount of time and efforts you would be devoting to the building of your blog.

Tip 2 - Choose An Interest: Your interest is your personal idea, your expertise, your pool of knowledge or your passion. This ensures the smooth running of your blog and it guarantees future success. If you choose what you are passionate about as your blog niche, then you will be able to make unlimited blog posts on it.

Tip 3 - Build A Website: You must build a website for your online business as this is the best way to make money online. Your website is your own personal brand, your virtual real estate and your multi-million dollar brand. So, blogging would be a powerful instrument to build your website.

Tip 4 - Attract Visitors: As you build out your site with quality and helpful content while engaging visitors, you will learn great ways to pull tons of traffic through the various blogging techniques. Building backlinks will give your site maximum exposure and will help a lot in building overall ranking potentials while you will watch your site skyrocket to the first page overtime.

Tip 5 - Earn Revenue: Once you have successfully built enough traffic, you have all the potentials in the world to earn consistent revenue in lifetime.

Kudos to you, Arun Soni! Frequent content posting is part of the great ways to get Google search rankings as this is one of the top 3 Google search ranking signals.

Google recently disclosed that RankBrain is one of its top three ranking factors and the third in its search algorithm. The first two ranking factors are links and content as disclosed by one of its Search Quality Senior Strategists on March 23rd, 2016. Thanks for your contribution!

Thanks for your reply, Rob Harris! Choosing the wrong niche is one of the greatest horrific blogging mistakes most veteran bloggers make today. By choosing what you're passionate about (Something you can write a lot about) as a niche for your blog, you will eventually become a rocking blogger.

For you to build a business on solid, proven blogging fundamentals, you must be a passionate blogger; someone who's ready to help other people without expecting anything in return. This yields a great dividend in the short-run. Thanks for getting back, Rob! Much appreciated!

Sometimes running a blog can be like running a facebook group. This is especially true if you dont want to earn money from it. Some people like to put up a blog just to have fun and say that they have a website. They might have a cooking blog that they share with family, friends, and co-workers, and it's only updated when a new recipe/meal/video gets created. That is where the interest is: in the STARVING CROWD.

But dont make a blog just to make a blog and try to make money from it. Who will read your blog if it's something that nobody is looking for?

You are right, Randall! Some people do blogging for fun. Not everyone blogs for money making and blogging can be about just any niche in this world. Whether it's being set up for fun or money making, I strongly believe that the success of any blog lies in choosing the right niche.

Most people fail in getting readership when it comes to making a blog post and wouldn't figure out why this is happening. I believe it takes a compelling post to attract a large readership, writing what people would love to read.

      Thanks for your comment, Randall!
      Wish you much success,

    You hit great points here.

If you want to become a successful blogger online you have to blog with the right energy. I see this happen over and over again with the new bloggers - they start to blog and promote with an energy of fear and scarcity. Heck, I was one of them at the beginning of my blogging journey.

Blogging with such negative energy will not allow you to get the results you are looking for. You have to understand that there is enough for everyone and that there is an abundance on the internet. Some bloggers, for instance, are too afraid to publish their best blog post on another blog (guest blogging) because they have this fear that they will "miss out" on traffic or something by giving away their best content - and this mentality is so bad for their success.

Also, you have to have a genuine intention to actually help the people in your niche. You can't start blogging with the sole goal to make money. Of course, you have bills to pay and food to put on the table, we all do! - BUT, the money you make blogging is a by-product of the legitimate help you give and provide the people in the niche with.

The people in the niche marketplace are the ones who will pay your bills and for your lifestyle - you can't ever forget that!

Focus on HELPING, genuinely helping. For real!

You also want to always educate yourself to become a smart blogger. Educate yourself with the right knowledge (internet marketing, email marketing, SEO, copy-writing, social media marketing, etc).

Blogging is an art and a real business model. Treat it like that and you will see results with time. Have fun blogging and actually look to help people - this is how you succeed!

Kudos to you for such a valuable blogging thought, FreedomBlogger! You have almost said it all about the right blogging techniques which unfortunately most influential bloggers have refused to follow over the past years.

What are the most common horrific blogging mistakes that most veteran bloggers make with blogging if not the failure to follow those fundamental blogging strategies which are the freaking cause of the giving up on the part of many people.

I also like a point you mentioned in your last reply which has to do with helping a lot of people and strategizing blogging for the best results. Many bloggers have ignored this over the past years and have caused serious drawbacks.

Befriending authority bloggers, connecting to online influencers, helping and promoting pro bloggers without expecting anything in return will definitely yield great dividends over time. Thanks for your immense contribution, FreedomBlogger! Hope to have you on discussion board soonest friend!

Building your business on solid & proven blogging fundamentals will save you from blogging struggles and will help you move your blogging game to the next level. Most veteran bloggers remain struggling bloggers because they ignored blogging strategies that work.

Applying practicable blogging strategies such as commenting on other niche related blogs, befriending pro bloggers, connecting to online influencers, helping and promoting top bloggers without expecting anything from them will help you get high quality backlinks and the law of reciprocity will take effects.

As you point it is not only newbies that misunderstand how to blog effectively
but also veterans who seemed to have gone along with the flow and created
a blog because it was expected of them.

I read an email today from a veteran marketer who admitted that at one point
his blogging had not a proper aim. He just made blog posts with a link to a
sales page which was not as effective as hoped.

Now he has changed his focus. When he does a blog post he is only interested
in getting an opt in to his list, no mention of direct sales at all. That will come
    in the follow up emails.

In addition, he has learned to match the freebie for the opt in very closely to
the topic of the post rather than a favorite high quality freebie which is not
of interest to the blog reader.

As a result of these changes his list has grown faster than previously and sales
    have increased correspondingly.

He now wonders why he had not figured this out long ago in spite of being
    a successful marketer !

    Thanks Israel, good post.

Thanks for contributing to the discussion, John! You really made a lot of sense here and I must say kudos for those great points mentioned especially on the specific approach to making more sales.

Most people wouldn't realize that making all of their pages sales pitches will reduce sales conversions. You need to be informative, helpful and engaging with your content for you to attract a lot of readers to your blog. Thanks for visiting!

Thanks for your contribution, discrat! Much appreciated! Although I know most bloggers pass through doldrums; a state of stagnation or depression in the course of blogging, it's hard for anyone to get through such a state in blogging without applying working strategies. This is the reason most veteran bloggers give up even when success is almost near.

I am sure except with paid advertisements at forums, Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads and the likes, it wouldn't work out but with the right blogging techniques using the right energy which are the fundamental basis of blogging.

I noticed that even most influential bloggers have ignored those blogging fundamentals just because it takes some time to get rankings applying them. Thanks for contributing

These are some very broad points, but true.

It might be more helpful to drill down and see a deeper explanation around each area.

Thanks for your contribution, ChrisBa! You are really correct that those points should be expatiated so that newbies can understand those blogging principles more clearly.

One of the two major points in this post that needs more clarification I guess is "Attract Visitors" How can you attract visitors to your blog? Let me elaborate more on the working strategy in two tips here.

Tip 1 - Write Remarkable Content: A remarkable content must be personal, helpful, compelling, informative, engaging, insightful and topically-relevant. In ranking your site based on content in Google, your articles must be 1890 words+ long (Minimum) and must be topically-relevant. This will increase your ranking potential in Google for appearing on the first page.

Your articles must be informative enough to build more trust and attract more readers from time to time. You must learn how to write such an informative article which focuses on what people really want to read, not on what you want to write. With this, you can attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to your blog.

Is your content engaging to your audience? You must learn to write engaging posts and you will increase the number of comments on your blog from people praising you and clamoring for more informative content.

Tip 2 - Write A Guest Post For Authority Bloggers: Till now, most struggling bloggers count it a waste of time writing guest posts. The big secret is that writing guest posts for other bloggers who have more traffic than you is a great way to drive the kind of traffic you can't drive in months through your own blog.

To ensure that you get high quality backlinks through your guest posts, make them only to niche related blogs as analyzed by Brian Dean; the world SEO expert. Thanks for asking for this!

No one will dispute these very broad and generalized tips, but the detail of how to accomplish each one is what would really be valuable in this discussion.

In my experience, those new bloggers that fail do so because the don't implement the daily tasks and requirements of a smart successful blogging model because they don't know what those are.

Tips #4 and #5 are prime examples of what I'm suggesting. It's easy to recite to a blogger - "attract visitors" or "earn revenue" - they are already trying to do that. But what are the exact steps involved? What daily tasks should they be doing to get visitors or to earn money from their blog?

The daily execution details are where bloggers really need help and tips - not so much with the overall generalities.

    Just my opinion,

Great opinion, Steve B! I'm in agreement with you that newbie bloggers seriously need details on what to be doing daily to execute those blogging strategies.

Let's try and emphasize more on attracting visitors and earning revenue believing that whoever is called a newbie blogger should have chosen a niche and created a website.

In trying to attract visitors to your blog, you start by attracting readers to your blog posts on a regular basis. Let's move on with the following steps:

Write High Quality Blog Posts: Your posts will be of high quality if they are helpful, informative, engaging, compelling and remarkable and will attract hundreds of thousands of readers. To start writing such quality blog posts, read other people's blog posts in your niche from time to time and learn more from authority blogs to improve your writing skills.

Address Your Readers' Needs: Once you start writing to address readers' needs and solve problems, a lot of people will begin to develop keen interest in visiting and reading your blog posts and you will get more readers to your blog on a daily basis. Your bounce rate will eventually decrease.

Post Frequently: It's highly likely that you won't get any meaningful traffic if you stop posting. Have you been trying on content writing but to no avail? Maybe your traffic still remains zero despite all posting efforts? Never stop posting but make sure you make all of your posts highly engaging. This will ensure that the number of returning visitors increases daily and bounce rate declines.

Be Topically-Relevant: Once Google finds that your content is topically-relevant, your overall ranking potential increases to appear on the first page. This ranking signal outranked many other ranking factors.

Share All Posts On Social Media: Leverage the social media like Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn and share at least a post with friends, groups, communities and fans daily.

Once you've got enough traffic, your blog becomes a multiple stream of income and you have all the potentials in the world to earn revenue. More authority means more ranking. More ranking means more traffic and more traffic means more revenue.

Thanks for, at least, asking for a more detail on "Attract Visitors" and "Earn Revenue"!

"As you build out your site with quality and helpful content while engaging visitors, you will learn great ways to pull tons of traffic through the various blogging techniques."

If you know what you're doing, the above makes perfect sense. If you're a beginner, it tells you nothing. (Don't believe me? Search this forum about blogging tips).

Thanks for your thought, DABK! Of course you know it wouldn't work out writing content alone unless you implement other working strategies such as blogger outreach campaigns, blog commenting (Though many people don't believe this works for them), Guest blogging, writing remarkable content (Which I just elaborated a bit more about above) and lots of other working strategies.

You also said I wrote a lot of words to say little. Well, if I must write on the topic in details, I may not be allowed here because I might need to upload a lot of relevant images, podcasts and videos to expatiate though tried to expatiate a bit more above. The essential blogging tips are needed not by newbie bloggers alone but by veteran bloggers too. Aside from leveraging paid advertisements, there is no shortcut to making money online except by building a business on the fundamental basis of blogging and working the right techniques with the right energy. This is an indisputable fact. If it had been so easy, a lot of struggling bloggers who give up wouldn't have done so.

I have learned several blogging tips from hundreds of pro bloggers but still discover that some tips work faster than others. For instance, I have applied blog commenting on niche related blogs and it worked seriously for me while other bloggers would bluntly say it never worked for them. Anyway, I want to believe that people do things not following principles. This is why certain tips will work for some people and will never work for others. Building your business steadily and following blogging fundamentals will help you move your blogging game to the next level.

Do you embed videos each time you create content on your blog? Do you know that you can drive tons of traffic embedding short videos within your blog content? It's a proven and working strategy used by influential bloggers today as most people prefer reading content that visually walks them through the process of doing certain things at one time or the other.

You should also be building a list from day 1. Create a lead magnet and give it away for free to bribe people onto your email list. From there you can run surveys to find out what your list needs, create it, sell it, and profit.

Thanks for your added marketing tip, Nick Million! Building a list from day 1 would be so helpful towards attaining success in the long-run but most bloggers wouldn't care about this from scratch. What a brilliant marketing idea! Much appreciated!

I like this list a lot. I've been blogging and making the same mistakes over the years, but I finally found something I can blog about daily and have an interest in that I love to do. What I get caught up on is how many words to put. It's already a podcast and the podcast's play button posted so I don't want to duplicate what is said, or I could. I don't know how I want to do it yet. It's really new.

Also, having to share it to attract visitors. I share it everywhere. On all social media and I have a few blog areas that I sub blog to with my opinions to the blog posts related to those sub blogs. Where are you sharing the links?

I have so many questions because I've never been real successful at it and I want this to really work.

      Hello geekmom,

Thanks for participating! Blogging on an interest (Niche) you are passionate about is the pioneer step to becoming a rocking and successful blogger. The greatest failure anyone can have in blogging is choosing the wrong niche in the name of looking for a profitable niche. I have seen hundreds of bloggers who made this mistake in the past and would get hooked up somewhere.

Kudos for leveraging the social media to drive traffic. It's not a place to joke or just make fun but a place to engage real people in serious discussion and socialize in a more strategic way towards building a business and helping a lot of people out of situations and challenges of life.

I do blog commenting effectively, outreach rigorously and write guest posts for pros in my niche. Implementing this strategy will make you successful in no time. I also answer questions on Quora to get high quality backlinks. Your blog will amazingly take off when you're almost about to give up. Thanks for your participation!

      Wish you much success,
      Israel

Attracting visitors is where bloggers slam into resistance, in most cases. They do not follow basic fundamentals - creating helpful content and building bonds with pros by helping them - and the traffic stalls, or vanishes.

    I love helping people through:

    - my blog
    - guest posting
    - blog commenting
    - eBooks
    - audio books
    - courses

The more I help with few expectations, the more traffic I attract.

    Cool tips buddy.

Thanks a lot, Ryan! I have tried to start creating helpful and engaging content on my site though the aspect of building bonds with pros is where I'm a bit lacking. I have been trying to work on this though time factor has been a serious challenge.

Guest posting is one of those strategies I have been considering to work upon right now though it seemed most authority site owners wouldn't bother accepting it even if a guest-post proposal is mailed to them.

How I wish it could be easy guest posting for pros! Any great idea of getting the right pros to guest post for would be appreciated and beneficial to me and lots of other veteran bloggers out there, Ryan. Thanks for participating! Much appreciated!

Becoming a rocking blogger depends solely on following blogging fundamentals. Most importantly, I believe you would see every need to follow a mentor so you can be straightened wherever you might be stuck. As a newbie blogger, what are your plans for building up your blog?

Every article on your blog should be excellent. Plus, you should research to stay at the forefront of what you're writing about.

Building out a facebook group alongside the blog is also a good idea, although yes it will require more time, but this will give you a massive opportunity to leverage social media traffic if the group is successful.

You can post extracts from the blog into the group and instigate topical discussion around your article subjects as well as running surveys and competitions and even promoting offers.

  • I just want to mention to point:

Finding out the niche is important and stick to that one is more important.

And another one is, I experienced that many bloggers hire blog writer to write an article but I don't understand how can someone else can feel what I want to express as information provider, how can one can express my passion through their write-up so you need to write your own.
