Why Is Having a Personal Brand Important?

Ever thought about personal branding?

Here I share why is having a personal brand important and some other things to think about.

Personal Branding

Well, first of all, think about any public figure like Frank Kern, Tony Robbins, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Hacks, etc.

What do all these people have in common? If you said a personal brand your absolutely right

All these people have spent a considerable amount of time and money building there personal brands. And it's a term you hear all the time, but you rarely hear why it is important?

Here's why...

Why Is Having a Personal Brand Important?

Having a strong personal brand means that you are a trusted and reliable resource.

This is important because people will turn to you for advice and you'll be an authority in their eyes. Anytime they need help, you are the best resource for information and guidance.

The more people who view you as an authority, the stronger your personal brand becomes.

In essence, it's all about providing value and I talk about it a lot on my blog.

Critical Thing To Know!

As you continue to build your personal brand, it is imperative that you remain mindful, and pay special attention to the things you promote.

I always recommend taking a moment to think about what your promoting? Ask yourself, "Is this strengthening my brand, or is it weakening it?"

Sometimes I have to reject promoting products - even if it's a great one because I believe that endorsing it will have a negative impact on my brand.

When endorsing other people's products, I always review the sales material first. I always review the content of the product, and I always do my background research on the person who is teaching the course.

Why?

Because I take responsibility for what I am promoting because I want people to have trust in me. If there is even one small thing about the product that could hurt my brand, I won't promote it.

How To Approach Building Your Personal Brand?

You should look into having a few types of properties online to help boost your personal brand and for getting your message out there.

* Your own blog.
* Your own YouTube channel.
* A Facebook page.
* A Twitter account.

You don't need to use every one of these, but the more you use, the better your results will be. I have my own blog, an active YouTube channel, an active Facebook page, and also an active Twitter account.

When it comes to building your own personal brand, you have full control in your decisions and in which tools you want to use. I am just sharing my experience and to give you some ideas.

Conclusion

Building a personal brand is extremely important, especially if you have a business (like me) and this can work for any niche. As always, take action because without action - there can be NO results.

Did you find that helpful?

Let me know what you think in the comments below. And, feel free to share.

    They've created a 'brand' they can use to sell with - but not a brand they can sell.

      Exactly! That's the whole point of a brand.

    Branding a name is often recommended in marketing - yet a profitable/popular brand closely tied to a person may not be easy to sell.

    Why would you sell? To move to something new....to cash out and retire.....

    If you're a world-famous sports star or celebrity, you could lend your name to all kinds of products and endorsements and consider yourself a brand. For everyone else, a "personal brand" is just marketing speak for reputation. That's fine if you want to present yourself as an integral part of the deal, but restrictive if and when you want to cash out.

    Personally, I'd rather brand a business. Much more flexible - and easier to manage.

    Personal branding will give you tremendous Authority in your niche marketplace.

    I agree with everything here. You have to take your personal branding seriously.

    This is also what we can call 'Attraction Marketing'. This is where people actually come to you for advice and recommendations. At this point, you can make sales with less hustle.

    I would be all over the internet sharing value and actually, help people. This is the key to build your personal brand online in any niche. I would highly suggest using as many communication mediums as possible!

    No brand. Just make the money and chill all day while the haters wake up at 6am in the morning, and work their 9 hour shift at McDonalds.

    Great perspective! Thanks for sharing.

    This is sort of unrelated, but it is something anyone in Internet Marketing should consider. We've found it is so much easier to get guest post opportunities if you have a personal website to share with bloggers.

    Yet another reason to build a personal brand.

    Creating a personal brand requires more energy than what you do presently without a personal brand...

    If you are a person with introverted nature, you will find great challenges to establish a personal brand name....

    You have to give something unique and beneficial things to society to make apart yourself from the crowd......

    And, you have to be cautious to the personal branding leading you in the desired direction or not.......

    So, I will say that creating a personal brand is not a child play because you may have to invest great amount of time and energy....

    If you already have planned something for your personal brand creation material, which is good. But you may have to change your plan according to your audience likeness and dis-likeness..
