Hi all,

I currently am doing a lot of proof work for a company that uses google translate from Polish to English- leaving me the fun job of trying to get it to make sense. I currently use Grammarly for the final proof, just to make sure I haven't messed anything up too seriously.

I know a few people who have paid for the premium version of this service and the feedback I have received has been quite mixed. What are your opinions on paying for the premium, versus sticking with the free version?

As for me, paying for the premium is worth it. Aside from efficiency, it is user-friendly. Its edits are context-specific with added explanation. So basically you also have opportunities to learn and make better your proofreading skills. After all, it's the value that you get that matters. It won't hurt to have an extra pair of eyes.

Don't buy any grammar software, simply read some basic rules of grammar and use dictionary apps for better writing. According to my research in English language grammarly isn't giving correct sentances. Only use these apps for mis spelling not for rules.

I give it the 7 out of 10...

Not super good, but helpful to make your writing flawless.

    Cons:
Suggest you more common errors like comma error, passive voice, style and mispelled word..

Always give you the similar suggestions
Don't suggest you new sentence to replace the existing one.

I hope this review helpful you

Getting the premium version can be beneficial. It gives you detailed feedback on the things that you need to revise, though I still ignored some of the feedback it gives. 'Twas worth the money I spent, I can say. But then again, you can't rely on any grammar software 100%. You'll always have to end up manually going through every word you've written, if you want your article to be flawless. -Micah

I'll recommend it. It catches many issues I may have missed in my writing. But of course the bulk of the proofreading will have to be done by yourself.

The free version is fine for me as I don't think you really need to be 100% precise with punctuation when writing a blog post. Also, you can always refer to one of the thousands of free English grammar tutorial sites and videos if you need a little help.

Spelling, however, is a different story. I think it's quite important to eliminate misspellings. The free version does that, so that's why I have not upgraded.

Thanks everyone! I think I will stick to the free version for now. As has been mentioned alot here, you still have to go through and proof anyway- Grammarly for me has been good for quick obvious changes and i think I shall keep it that way.
