Waiting on SEO takes too much time, How can I start making money next month?

Hey guys, I have been reading a lot on SEO lately to try and figure out why I am not getting any traffic, leads, and sales on my self-development blog where I sell a digital product that solves the biggest pain point in my niche...

And what I am realizing is that using SEO to get traffic to my website is going to take a shit tone of time and that's totally ok, I will still learn it and apply it obviously...

But I want to start making money very soon... I have been working on this blog for 2 years now and haven't made 1 cent yet... and it's really starting to get to me.

I need to figure out other avenues to monetize my work...

I have a book, I have lots of knowledge in my niche, I know I can help people, I want to do this for a living...

Question: What else can I do to make money selling my product besides working for years creating more invisible blog posts and videos before I get enough traffic to my blog to make a decent amount of money?

My goal is to make my first 100$ per month (my digital product is sold at 37$, this means 3 sales in a month)...

After 2 years of spending all my free time on this and sacrificing so much for this, it's time to start making money...

I have recently been looking into doing PPC via facebook and Google ads...

And also did lots of market research, i see lots of people making money without even having a website. Their funnel seems to go like this:

Paid ad via Facebook or Google ---> Send traffic to Optin ---> Email marketing

Pretty simple... I want to get in on that, do you need to be in a specific niche/have a big ad budget to do this?

Any advice will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Best of luck to you and your IM endevors!

I understand your frustration. Been there, done that, and still have it sometimes.

However, it's turning into desperation and you seem to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Asking this, asking that, opening new threads day after day, etc.

Dude, you need to settle down and make a comprehensive plan and stick to it.

2 days ago you had your 2018 plan in place. You received a lot of good advice. Now you are tired of waiting and looking for another answer with another thread.

You are lucky the mods are letting your threads through. In the past, they would have deleted most of them because you seem to be telling the same story with a different twist but asking the same question over and over and over again.

I think you need to start from the beginning and start over. You seem to be working hard and with zero results + increasing desperation you are not helping yourself.

You've got to slow down. Figure it out. Make some decisions. Stick with your decisions for more than 2 days. Don't let yourself get desperate and have shiny object syndrome.

I think you can probably do this - succeed - IF you slow down and take this step by step.

Otherwise, you'll keep posting new threads (until they start deleting them) and stay frustrated.

    Good luck.

    Mark

You probably do have lots of knowledge in your niche, but, is the niche looking for it from you? If you have lots of competition, that can be a factor too. If you have a blog about wealth/IM/MMO/health/fitness... expect alot of competition. But if you have a blog about "how to fall in love with your $6,500 silicone doll", you could probably make sales within your first week.

What else can you do? Well, you can sell on fiverr and ebay. It's easy money at these 2 places.

The only niche restrictions are pretty standard - you can't advertise certain products or types of products. Ecigs is a good example.

As for budget it is impossible to tell as there are too many factors involved.

I suggest you study as much as you can about PPC before you run any ads. The fact is, most people who try PPC lose all their money because they believe it to be as simple as placing some ads and trips to the bank.

Join into Groups that is relevant to your niche and tart to post

Traffic is instantly guarantee. But you will need to follow the rules before you start posting.

Don't be a spammer, you can just post few posts in few different groups per day

Then combind it with Facebook Profile, instagram.

That's what i did to make money online.

Also Bing ads, cheap and targeted traffic

You seem to mention facebook groups on every single post, how do you generate traffic from this? most of the groups if not all dont allow you to promote anything, so what do you achieve with guest posting?

How much content does your website have?

Post approx. 100 quality posts on your website centered around your niche/website. Each post should be centered around 3 or 4 keywords that have searches according to Google Keyword Tool......

Make sure that most of the keywords are money keyword or business keyword or product keyword that have the potential to convert into sales....

The above mentioned tasks will take you approx 2 to 3 months....... let me know after 3 months if you didn't make any sales....

Also make sure that conversion rate of physical products is higher than informational products....

Don't build too many links in one day, you will get penalized, and will create so many confusions..... focus on content writing and build one or two links daily/naturally

The word "natural" comes with good power in SEO industry....... not only does it apply to link building, but also content, frequency of posting content, frequency of other SEO signals being sent to Google....

    My definition of SEO is:

-Natural aspects of the work you do to improve ranking of your website.
    -Quality
    -Authority
    -Regularity and
    -Uniqueness

Natural aspect is also applied in writing SEO content.....
If you think that all paragraphs will be of 200-word each, it is not natural. The natural is different length of paragraphs, different length of sentences other easy-to-understand elements such as question words, quotes, highlights, lists, headings etc.

I get ya. Marketing takes time. Do you have a sales funnel in place to promote a product? If you don't, I would recommend setting up a sales funnel and start hammering paid traffic to start making a profit as soon as possible.

    Hey man !

200$ per month is completly doable.

Your blog posts might not get seen because you've been flagged by google. Or you're not using the right keywords.

But wtvr, I think the question is "how to go from here". Blogs are still useful but social media is the best way to get traffic fast.

Right now, I guess you have a sales page for that product of yours, all you need to do is to get people there.

3 sales man, that's 300 people on that sales page if you suck at sales. Totally doable.

If SEO is not working, try social media, same stuff, but faster and on at least 3 platforms

Two years of blogging and not a red cent. No surprise, there.

It's 2018. Stop blogging and start a YouTube Channel. With the same amount of time and effort and a minimal investment you'll build an audience much, much faster.

Or, go another two years without making a penny.

    Life is short. Your call.

      That was exactly my thought...

Consistently put up a few videos daily.... with a CTA leading to your squeeze page.

At the end of the year, you should be close to 1,000 videos...

If you've done your research, you be should also be close to having 1,000 "true" fans....

      After that, everything is gravy...

It is simple.... But, it is not easy.

Run a free challenge, have an upsell, then at the end of the challenge, offer your main product. You can build your email list and make sales at the same time.

It is great that you have your own product. However, I think trying to sell an affiliate product (similar or same niche) that has already proven to convert may be a way to go about it initially. By doing this, you may have less variables to ponder over if there are no conversion quickly.

Facebook ads and videos could be tested. But, it requires to spend getting traffic for a product that is not yours. Free traffic may also work considering that you want to hit $100/month. You may look for free guides (youtube or written) about generating traffic and sales with Pinterest, YouTube videos (SEO), for example.

The money follows the person that is willing to help others regardless of the cash they receive.

While the strategy you outline is just fine, I still recommend your own website and blog.

Too many marketers start out looking to cash in and looking for gold to strike them within the first month or two. This is fine, but don't disregard the future in the process.

A blog and website gives you quite a bit of power. First, it's a place you can house your optins instead of counting on someone else for this. Second, it gives you a place to help people beyond the information found in your book. Third, it's a place to find out what the subject of your next book may be. Finally, it's your long-term, passive income strategy allowing you to stop worrying so much about getting traffic.

When you blog, you are putting out a small little traffic generator. It's not invisible and combined with social media, you can gain a ton of traffic from your blog today, tomorrow, a year from now and more.

The paid strategy you mention goes away as soon as you stop paying for it. Yes, you're building a list with an optin form, which is great, but why not combine the two methods and get the bang for your buck now, while building up a long term marketing strategy for organic traffic.

The best route to get laser focused results is to use Pay Per Click with Google Adwords and Bing Ads. If you do a Google search you might be able to find an introductory coupon credit to use for your first campaign.

    Hi Jake,

"Too much time" = "I am working online from an energy of fear."

"I am working online from fear mainly" = impatience.

Impatient marketers always fail. Or, appear to succeed, then, their fear-based, impatient ways blow up in their face, leading to failure.

My advice: accept the truth that it takes 2-4 years doing the right things with the right energy (like, few folks online have the right energy, doing things from love and fun versus tension), and then, spend the 2-4 years developing your skills, and then, see the worldly success that you won't care much about anyway because you'll be focused on giving, not getting.

It does NOT take 2-4 years.

Collect emails. Sell to the email list. It all depends on how much you can scale. How fast can you collect emails and what is your subscriber:sales ratio.

    It is entirely possible ...

To learn how to get 30 emails in a day. And sell 1:10 on your $ 37 product.

    3 sales at $ 37 = $ 111 per day.

And that doesn't include aff promos you send to.

That could jump the number to $ 150 per day easily.

    Will it happen like magic?

No. You gotta put your hustle boots on.

It's a numbers game. Sales is about numbers. The faster you can get to the right numbers, the faster you go full-time.

Blogging is one of the SLOWEST ways ... but even then ... there ARE bloggers who broke $ 3K a month in their 3rd or 4th month.

And it's not like they went from $0 to $0 to $ 3000.

    They did $ 500 month 1 ... $ 1500 month 2 ... $ 3000 month 3.

    Success can happen FAST.

It won't happen if you wait for it to happen.

If I thought for one minute that it had to take 2-4 years ... I would not be here. There's no logical reason for that rationale.

    There's a woman.

    Who started in 2015.

She doesn't sell "how to be a blogger" ...

In fact, her courses are in a market I would have thought capped around $ 10K a month.

    She's done over 2 million since 2015.

For some, that'd already be enough to retire on.

In 3 years she did it.

Not 3 years to get "full time" ...

3 years she got what most folks would call retirement money. Lottery money.

You know how many folks would retire if they scratched $ 1 million on a lotto ticket?

    Remove all limitations.

Don't let ANYONE tell you what YOUR story is going to be.

They can tell you their story.

Respect that. It's the golden rule.

But it is NOT your story.

Yours might be very different in a GOOD way.

It's a common question whether you use search-engine optimization or pay-per-click advertising. Both has its pros and cons.

Do you know unpaid search results will generally receive more clicks than paid ads? With more visibility comes more clicks, conversions, revenue and ultimately a solid return on investment, but SEO can take several months to produce, although when done correctly it can result in consistent high-quality traffic and a nice ROI.

SEO results aren't instant and you want to earn cash fast.

So, look at PPC Marketing; it will give you instant traffic. You can have ads on the top of search results almost immediately after setting up a campaign. Remember, you are in full control of your ad copy, the keywords that will trigger your ad and the destination webpage that the visitor is sent to once they click your ad.

However, PPC can be very costly if the campaign is not set up properly, and it can result in a depleted budget with little to nothing to show from it.

In short, PPC can produce immediate results at a premium cost, and if you are willing to spend the money you can dominate the top paid search results. SEO can deliver a solid ROI, although algorithm updates can crash the party at any time.

This is an extremely competitive niche, and you've got less than a snowball's chance in hell by going head to head against such deep-pocketed SEO professionals.

I have been in this niche (personal development) for over 20 years, and none of my websites has ever emerged above the murky depths in the search engines. Strategically, it actually can be a huge marketing advantage.

There are many effective ways of by-passing this heavy competition, and in your previous thread I've already explained the method I've always used for quickly driving massive quantities of laser-targeted traffic.

You've already got everything you need. It's just a matter of getting your content directly in front of targeted eyeballs. But you are wasting a lot of time messing around with SEO and PPC, in my not so humble opinion.

My 2018 Traffic Strategy as discussed in this thread is essentially the same as it was in 1998. My specialty has always been to market in the most hotly competitive niches, because that's generally where the big money lives.

Does your product target a specific problem or is it general self-development? If its for a specific problem, try paid ads from bing and Google using only the keyphrases dealing with that specific problem. Also, if you're only selling a book, think of some ways to make it a more robust product (turning it into a video course, adding personal support, etc) so you can raise the price.
