New Warriors Who post a LOT please help me to understand. What am I missing. Oldies help too :)

Hi All,

Once upon a time before the Warrior Forum became a Paid forum again, via the War Room the oneliners were annoying, but, at least we knew why they were posted. New Warriors wanted to have the 30 posts so they could do WSOs.

But, why now? You can have a gillian posts and still you can't post a WSO or have more than 10 Private Messages stored until you join the WarRoom.

So, why are some New Warriors still posting 25 or more posts a day, posting articles from other sites and generally doing anything to run their post count up?

I'm serious, I'm puzzled.

Anyone?

George Wright

Man have I been away from here a long time, LOL Heck I haven't even broken the 1000 mark and I have been with WF from when Allen started the WF. LOL

I must admit that when I started I was just a lurker and did not feel I had much to contribute.

Wasn't until new changes and a few years been on WF that I started to post and help the new warriors.

I do agree that most don't read....

Glad to be back amonsgt all this fun. :-)

        I know Jeremy,

However some don't even have Sigs. Maybe they are going to spring a sig later when most their posts stick. Another good point.

You know, I've been going about this getting some thanks thing all wrong.

I could just ask for it! Yes, everyone - as you pass by this post please do just hit the thanks button and I will do it on all of your posts in the future.

Doesn't matter if you helped me or entertained me or made me laugh - I will just hit the button.

Before you know it we can all have lots of thanks going around and everyone will be helpful and reputable.

I'm off to get my taxes done now, and when I come back I expect to see a thousand or so thanks on this post.

      Thanks!

Or BETTER YET - There is one post in the War Room to tell you how to gain instant credibility - without waiting for the "thanks" and without spending a lot of time posting all over the Warrior Forum looking to get it.

You want to know what it says?

      Get your ARSE in there.

I have no idea .......is it a daily thing?
are they posting 25+ times every day?

If they are then maybe they are trying to drive traffic to their sig like Jeremy K mentioned.

I think many of the posts you see are from people who outsource their forum posting, hoping to increase traffic from increased sig exposure!

I have seen a couple today already, and I think they have been removed!

Do people do that here on this forum?

I've been a "lurker" for a very long time now and I haven't seen many.

Saying that though there does seem to be alot of "hey i'm new here, I do this and that and look at my products blah blah blah" type posts.

Les makes a great point. There is a lot of crap floating around out there that
hasn't been updated. And since most people who come to forums don't read
the new rules, they have no idea that they're posts mean nothing now.

Steven - Last time I looked the WSO rules had not been updated to reflect War Room as a requirement for running WSO's. I've also noticed many WSO's from new war room members who had "nothing" posts till they ran the count up, joined the war room and ran a WSO.

I also think some people just want to "participate" whether they have anything to contribute or not. Unfortunately the trend seems to be growing.

It's funny that we consider the internet to be "instant information" and yet just as in the offline world, info keeps being circulated after it's no longer of any value.

Don't identify yourself as part of the problem in a thread about the problem of bs
        posting.

Seriously, we are not that stupid.

        George:

Others have hit the prime source of why this is happening:

        1) People are following not yet updated how to make money at WF guide

        2) They are not taking action to learn new rules themselves

        3) They are trying to build their credibility by increasing post count

        4) They want their signature seen (even if there is no signature today...it will still be there later)

Just yesterday a new warrior started several threads in CPA section. In one thread he claims he is brand new and please can people help him get into CPA networks. In another he has thread title something like: 7 Best Ways to Make Money with CPA....which consists of some really helpful stuff like: write articles, post in forums, use PPC (insert sarcasm here) 7 one liners.

I agree that it is very frustrating when you see the nonsense posts, but not sure there is any way to stop them.

I am generally not in favor of more rules, but if technology exists that could limit the ability to post more than a certain number of posts per day when someone is new, that might slow the spam down.

It's most likely down to two things mate:

    a) They want to people WSO's and don't know about the new rules.

    b) Forum Phsychology, there is ALOT of people out there who post ALOT of useless stuff to forums to "fit in" and feel a part of something.

Personally people who do that annoy the hell out of me too.

    Hey

I guess for credibility. At one point of time I was sharing my stories with others and posting a lot, answering some questions to gain credibility as well. At least that is from my point of view.

I think people will always judge somebody they don't know by the number of posts they've made. I'll admit sometimes I have posted one liners to bump my 'cred score' a bit but I do always at least try to contribute to the conversation..uhhh...not sure if this post is a good example or not? ;-)

I personally dont bother with post count, it doesn't interest me. I only post when I have something of value which I feel I have to add or where i can help someone, OR if I need assistance with something.

There are people that will just try and increase their post count becuase they want to look like some sort of authority when in fact thay know Jack Didley Squat! lol

I think those of us who are experienced enough know who the culprits are and yes it is annoying but I don't think theres anything one can do!

I hate to break it to you, Robyn, but it's quite possible to lurk here for years without opening an account or logging into it.

I'm not making any judgments about the poster you commented on, I don't know if he's fibbing or not.

Just pointing out that a recent join date doesn't preclude past lurking...

Point taken John...it is possible I jumped to an inaccurate judgment on that particular poster. I had not considered that possibility. By the way, I miss your old PETA reference. Made me laugh every time I read one of your posts.

I can think of three (3) reasons myself:

      1. As previously stated, these folks are trying to get their post counts up so they can do a WSO..

      2. They're trying to get exposure to their 'sigs', by trying to add value to already existing threads. (something which has been taught/mentioned in many ebooks/membership courses!)

      3. They're sincerely trying to grasp the art of IM'ing and because of their specific personality, need to ask more questions then someone else.

Some folks learn better by 'reading', others rely on 'videos', while some need both in order to fully understand a given topic or subject and be able to use said knowledge successfully in their own business.

So, lets not jump the bandwagon that every 'newbie' who has a high post count has some hidden agenda in the works but that just maybe...they're someone who just needs more information on a given subject.
