Idiot

by Michael Mayo 26 replies
Hello Warriors,

Earlier today I received a notification from Paypal that there had been and
fraudulent transaction from someone that had purchased my WSO.

So, I go to paypal, go through the motions as they requested more info.

I gave them my Download Guard Customer Info for that transaction and
waited for Paypals reply. Approx 30 minutes later I receive another email
stating that it was indeed a fraudulent transaction and they require more
Info.

Once again I log into my account and give them what they want.

Next I refund the purchase and everything is back to normal. (ie, Resolved)

I was just looking at my DLG Customers after seeing 2 more purchases, Low and behold this Idiot had purchased the product two more
times...lol

That was fine with me because as soon as I refunded the purchase the
first time I blocked them from downloading anything.

Why in the world would someone be so stupid...

Do they think Paypal or the Real persons Credit Card Company isn't going
to track them down?

Unbelievable...lol

[End of Rant]

I mean come on, 3 times in one day by the same Idiot.....
Give me a Break.

Have a Great Day!

No, what they're doing is testing out stolen credit card numbers to see if they work.

      Cheers,

How does DL Guard protect against fraudulent payments that actually comes in full to your Paypal account first, but ends up being "returned" by Paypal after the original owner reporting to Paypal against unauthorised transactions.. by which time, the criminal guy would have downloaded the package already..

Dont tell me DLG comes with future-fraud-sniffing technology, which actually is COOL .. Or is it ?

Dont think that unless you have a software that phones home, and you can lock access, you can actually control this kind of stuffs

            Hey Michael,

Uhumm ... this may sound silly, but did you ever think it might be someone who had problems figuring out if they paid or not? Or if they clicked the back button in PP to change something?

I've seen that happen with new people before.

Sometimes is just that they either can't figure things out, or they simply can't make up their minds whether or not they want to buy the product lol.

Stupid, I know, but it does happen more than people realize.

If the transaction is under $10, they are charging a stolen cc and then checking to see if they went over the limit and then the charge again and on and on until they get over the limit.

I hate to be the one to think negatively...well sinisterly then...but is it possible it's a competitor feeling threatened by your WSO who is looking to get your Paypal shut down for multiple fraudulent purchases.

Hmm ... now I got you!

Man, that sounds sick, especially if they are running around as a member of the forum wrecking havoc with everyone's PP accounts.

The worse part is I just paid to put up a WSO, and I'm not looking forward to joining in the parade.

Hope you guys get everything straightened out soon!

I've had a more stupid story: The client pays via bank deposit, he deposits an amount more than actual price... later calls me and ask for a refund of the excess.

    OR....

It could be that they are on vacation and not within the geo range of their home and it's being flagged as possible fraud.

Since you refunded it, you don't know if it was fraud or not and neither does PayPal unless they called the card holder in the 30 minutes time. Which is unlikely and is why PayPal asked you for mor details again.

Did you think the other puchases MIGHT be because you refunded the first?

    Did you email them?

PayPal has flagged 3 payments of mine in the last 1-2 months as fraud. I won the first. Lost the 2nd (even though it wasnt. I asked the person.) and am waiting on resolution for the 3rd - been almost 2 weeks.

If it was a buyer initiated fraud, thats a different case. I always win them by providing IPs. I tell paypal to match it with the one used for the account most of the time.

Garrie, its buyer initiated. Thats the reason why i refund them in the first place after putting it to cooldown for 24 hours. Its not being blocked by Paypal. They wrote back to Paypal resolution team to say that they didnt authorize the transaction, yet somehow managed to download through the same paypal email address which is registered to the unique download link. Even the same email address is detailed out in my autresponder.. (somehow, they think we marketers are stupid and dont look at the details).

Yup, tried emailing, but no reply since yesterday. Plus it being a digital download, Paypal dont even bat an eyelid for my case and are siding them on this as i have no "justified real loss" to begin with.

Well, this keeps me getting more frustrated.. Oh well, i should just move on.

Thats strange because when I provide the IP and show that its the same geolocation as the account holder and PayPal checks logs for loggins (I assume they do) I have always won.

Maybe the buyer just gets scared when I provide all the information and backs out....

      Hi SpudDS,

To say everyone is assuming is incorrect. You shouldn't frame everyone into the same window.

I never said the idiot was a Warrior. I said the idiot was and idiot...lol

I know you can purchase WSO's without being a Warrior member.

Plus, If the Idiot was a Warrior Forum member they still wouldn't be a True Warrior, Troll maybe.

      Have a Great Day!
