Quora deleted my link and reply

by iAiden

Hi, I tried to promote a Clickbank product in Quora. So, I went there and went into my niche questions and answered them in detail and I put a bit.ly url to a landing page where people would put email and will ultimately take them to the CB offer page.

But quora moderation deleted that. As far as I know that quora does NOT like direct affiliate links so I made a landing page to collect email and I linked my bit.ly url to that.

What do I have to do?

You need probably 10 different ways to get subscribers.

Quora is just one. Go set up on other platforms and leave Quora until
    you figure it out.

    Hi IA,

Yeah; Quora deletes anything not content rich and aligned with your answer.

Per suggestions on thread, create helpful content through many channels online. Buy your domain and hosting. Help out on forums. Help folks through social media. Guest post. Quora is 1 of many networks; and at that, just help folks there and many click your profile link....to a blog, it should be.

      Thanks for the tip.

Thing I did was I went to quora and search for my niche relation questions and then I explained in detail and at the end I provided my landing page link via bit.ly and I got around two upvotes too so that was the correct answer. Throughout my answer, I didn't even tried to sell the product. I just gave a solution and at the end put a link.

One more thing, do Quora allow blog links? Suppose I create a niche related blog and I fill the blog with niche content and also put the Clickbank offer link in my blog and I just put my blog link in quora. So, does quora allow blog links?

Yes.quora do allow blog link and also affiliate links as well. I used to do that and few of my post also deleted some of remain live.

you can try by changing links or use direct product link. lets hope that it will work.

Another option is to write a review on that product then share the that review on the quora. Thanks

        Thanks

If you participate regularly, yes u can easily post links inside quora.

I have a active profile since 4 years and from time to time, I do put links to my blog etc and it works fine.

There's a difference between posting links to your site and posting links to affiliate pages like OP.

    It's called affiliate spam.

Quorans are almost as touchy about marketing as Redditors. If you leave a quality answer, and you link to a blog post directly related to, and expanding on, your answer, you'll likely get away with it. Link to a blog post that says "click my link" will get the same reaction.

You can also put a link to your blog in your profile.

Try to use it for direct promotion, like you did, and eventually you won't have to worry about getting answers deleted. You won't be able to post any.

You can also start a blog in your own Quora, link from your articles in Quora to an optin form. This strategy is not spammy and should work really well.

When you answer questions on Quora, people click through to your profile and read more.

If you are new to the quora then you must not spread links now. you should first build your profile first. answer some quality question and get some views then spread your link. after that Quora will not delete your post.

You have to add your website URL through anchor text not directly.

I'd say focus on building up your profile first before you start direct promotion. Answer a good number of questions in detail and add your blog link from time to time. Quora moderators are a bit more strict with new members than they are with those who have been engaging on the platform for a while.

Also, never post aff links. They will be deleted.

First thing is that quora do not accept, if somebody promoting their products, and restricted about the promotion. We can just share the content With the link as a information. It takes more time to get rid out of the spam issue.

Quora is an excellent platform for promoting, but it's no different to any other
online platform in that, if you start slapping affiliate links in to Q and A's then,
    expect them to be removed.

The aim is to give people an enjoyable experience with your content and arouse
their curiosity. From there they'll probably visit your profile and that's were you
should park your promotional stuff. Just don't do it in the post, as it will nearly
    always come across as spammy.

Don't focus only on quora. Start doing blog commenting and start giving answers on other forums as well. As far as Quora is concerned, when you are new in Quora, don't provide any links for some question. Give answers and try to increase your views on the answers given by you. After some answers you will start getting more views then you can put links only on the relevant answers.

In order to be in good standing with Quora, most of your posts need to simply answer a question rather than self-promote. Also, bit.ly tends to be seen as being spammy for whatever reason. Instead of Bit.ly, try using goo.gl as your link shortener.

If that doesn't work, try not shortening your url's at all.

Based on what I've seen since becoming a mod here, people are suspicious of bit.ly links because so many spammers try to use them to disguise links that would otherwise not be allowed.

Not strictly true John, as marketers use it as an accurate

Expand your horizons. Don't work on Quora alone. Quora usually deletes answers with links on it if it is done several times.

The easy way around this is by setting up a middle-man or a friendly intermediate like
a free Google Sites page or a free blog, so instead of coming across as an opportunist
looking for a quick affiliate sale, you're offering something a bit different.

What I do is post videos related to the questions. Inside my videos are links to my landing page. If people like your videos they'll type the address of your website. Quora is ok with videos, in fact when you put the youtube url, it auto embeds the video to your post/answer.

I know why some marketers use bit.ly. I also know that others have abused the service to the point where some sites simply don't even allow them anymore.

And unless you've been behind the curtain, like most of us here, it's hard to tell the difference. Ben Franklin once wrote that an old cat that sits on a hot stove once will never do it again; nor will she sit on a cold one. That's how many people view bit.ly links.

Stay away from the use of direct affiliate link and adhere to Quora's guidelines. Also, I think bit.ly is a bit of a less authoritative URL shortener. Goo.gl could have been better but it's closing soon. What I do suggest is you create your own URL shortener or you can install the Pretty Link in Wordpress. With that plugin, you can create a better-looking URL when sharing. However, I would still recommend you establish authority and assistance to questions in the community. Create a blog and put up your affiliate links into it while still helping people solve their problems.

Work on building a positive reputation by answering questions, also use Yahoo Answers as well building up a positive reputation first on both platforms will allow you to drop a few links later on.

Choose a different way to promote your products. Quora usually deletes if you post links multiple times.
