If you intend to build a large number of sites or offer hosting through a membership program it is a good idea.

My intention is not to build large number of sites of my own or clients sites but to sell hosting service to anyone through a reseller service and wanted to know how viable this can be

Web hosting has been over-commoditized for years. If you aren't bringing something new and innovative to the marketplace (and can successfully convey that message to potential customers), you have to try and compete with low-ball prices. I recommend you find something else.

Selling hosting as part of a bundled service can make sense. For example, a web developer who also hosts client sites is adding a secondary revenue stream, so it makes sense in that context. But just selling hosting as a standalone product? No.

Thanks for your honest advice but I have already set up my angle and marketing strategy, what I need is a suggestion of best reseller webhost or anyone with experience with reseller webhosting business.

Web Hosting market is over crowded and competition is really very tough. You have to pump a lot of money and resources on it especially excellent customer service to make a large customer base.
