The locked my 4 lenses and I don't know why. I contacted them and they said they would check into it and they don't so I contact them again and same thing. They say they will see if I can get my lenses back and then they do nothing. I gave up on them. This was a few months ago. My lenses are still live though with my links working.

Of course it was affiliate marketing, that's why Seth started the thing. But they sold out, they're making millions of my lenses adsense but now decide I'm stinking up the neighborhood. All because I updated it with fresh content. A**holes. They jumped the shark months ago anyway.

Well after they got enough publicity from affiliates and have a boatload of noobs thinking they will get rich from adsense earnings thay don't need us, the affiliates anymore to create their site and bring them money. I remember when first I started out when someone here on this forum was asking why would someone want to send 500 articles resource boxes to Squidoo lenses and almost everyone here take the part of Squidoo. I learned to never rely on this free websites and just piggyback them for link juice.

I think they target lenses by keywords.

I went to create a weight loss lenses and could not get
it passed so, I had to change the whole direct of the
    content.

You have to be careful of links as well, no more than 9
to one URL including links to other pages on your site.

Make Money Online is now in their "Junk" topics lists.
It still a great place to add content to, I get quality
    traffic from my current lenses.

I tried to do a weight loss lens as well, but wasn't able to. It's ok though - the new direction I took actually helped me out.

As for the no Make Money Online, Squidoo always struck me as more useful for niche marketing anyway. I currently have a Clickbank link on my lens, but I'm thinking of taking it down and simply directing the lens to my blog, etc.

It's still a useful traffic tool that gives extra cash from Adsense. And then of course, any affiliate-marketing revenue from Amazon...

Im glad I never really got into Squidoo. Its just too risky relying on a 3rd party to keep your content running. I hope you backed the content up at least, and can find somewhere else to put it that has a chance of ranking just as well.

I got an email today with two lenses that were locked as well. They were for clickbank products but there was alot of great content in those lenses. Oh well.

Squidoo sucks...I wanted to create my first lens and I was banned 9 times! Whatever changes I made to the title or text it was still seen as 'spam'. Some words(like forex) can not be used there at all!

I believe there has been some talk about whether Squiddoo are getting a tad nervous about the new FTC regulations etc and whether they may be a target for investigation. I would imagine they would be nice and juicy enough for the FTC to have a gnaw at. So they are cracking down on blatent affiliate stuff.

I agree, its never a good idea to depend on 3rd parties as such for your important sites.
