Getting a new domain name for my affiliate blog

Hello. I've spent the past month building my affiliate blog. I realized my domain name was too vague and bought a new one today that is more specific to my niche. My only question is, do I have to rebuild my site from scratch or is there a way to transfer all of my design work and content from my old domain to my new one? I'm using Hostgator and Wordpress for everything if that matters. Thanks in advance for any help!

All-In-One migration is good. Just make sure you backup everything on your old domain first before you do the transfer. That way if an error occurs you still have your original content. Then of course you could upload them via FTP to the webhost that has the different domain name. You might have to change the embedded links in your content though to reflect the new domain name so that you dont get any 404 errors.

You can transfer your whole website from old domain to new domain. Make sure you have propely set up the 301 redirect of your URL's to new domain. If you are not sure about this then approach your web hosting company to do the things for you.

  • Go to Fiverr and pay someone $5 to migrate your site to your new domain.

I migrated two websites last year myself, which took me a couple of hours. For the third one, I went to Fiverr, paid $5, and boom, all done in no time, with no problems.

Fiverr is shit for most things, but for website migration it's pretty straightforward.

Also be aware that Host Gator has a service that will handle migrations. Some are free and some paid. Either way, you get your site moved quickly to a new domain if you are worried about doing it yourself. Contact their support or search their website for "site migrations." I've used this service myself with no problems.

    Good luck,
