How can I succeed and make sales in Clickbank ?

Hello WF,

I would like to know if anyone can help me with this question " how do I and can I succeed and make any sales in the beginning with Clickbank, without any testimonials ?" I mean I am running out of funds fuel (*money fuel) to buy and get solo ads, I cannot make any videos for youtube or don't have enough funds to buy the real version for screen recording and editing camtasia software, don't know much to write about internet marketing or e-mail marketing, maybe just product creations, and also I have already did some SEO and list my site on Search Engines. Also I learned here and other sites that testimonials will give more persuasion power to convince my customers and give them prove that my product works, but here I have to have around at least 50 posts in my name and account (and that will take a while) to be able to ask and get testimonials or for even JV's. I can only and usually have around $100 - $200 to spend and market my product and my website. I mean does anyone know the answer to this, or a faster and better way for this, please ? Pleas let me know by replying and posting to this discussion and post.

Thank you,
Anthony

    Hi Anthony,
I know where you are coming from as I faced similar problems when I started with affiliate marketing using Clickbank and other companies to make money.

I then found that what made the difference especially with Clickbank was finding the right niche.

Look for products which are a solution to a pain (a pain that people would rather not have to talk about ) then they will need to search online for the solution.

This is where you come in.

You need to look for keywords in your chosen niche that fit the criteria above and then find products available on Clickbank.

Then use Bing Ads as they are the cheapest for advertising keywords.

Solo ads can be effective but they can also be very expensive - that's why I stick with Bing Ads - usually much more cost effective.

Start your advertising campaign using as little as you like until you find that you are making a profit then rinse and repeat!

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi Anthony,

I would have to agree that finding the right niche is one of the keys to becoming successful in your affiliate marketing business. Try to start with a good sub-niche as well and spend time with market research. If you are able to know more about your market's behavior, you can easily design a marketing campaign to suit your market's needs and wants. Yes, there will always be a competition, but you can outrank anyone by becoming more strategic to your content and marketing campaigns. Know your niche and market well.

    Some good point Affilorama,

you could also improve the sales page.

Some of the Click bank sales pages have been around without being changed for over 5 years.

You could quite easily update one yourself to make it look more attractive - or pay someone on Fiverr.com to do this for you. Then see if this increases your sales.

Another thing I do is to set up a subdomain for each product that I promote so that any keywords I target will be pinpointed exclusively to that product.

Hope these tips help you make a profit.

i tried everything there, and never had results until

    - banner ads on forums [with heavy traffic]
    - and EMAIL marketing

.but if you want to success with clickbank, get the hang and become expert at EMAIL MARKETING.

Try and contact youtubers and ask if you can put your landing page link in their description. Offer like $20 a month/week.

    Hi Anthony,

The cold hard truth of the matter is that, the people who make the real money
on Clickbank are the people with large and targeted email lists FACT! They'e the
one's who suck you in by showing you superb screenshots of their sales, but guess
what, it's due to their email list.

Yes, you can get the odd sale or two by trying to compete organically in Google for
the related search term and that's really all it will be or you can fire out a lot of posts
about the offer on FB groups and Google communities and you may get a sale or two,
but for the time spent it WON'T be worth your while.

For me and based on my own experience both as a previous vendor and affiliate with
Clickbank is to build an email list, become a vendor and promote your own product(s) or
going for the better option and start promoting Warrior Plus products.

Yes I agree with others who have said you need a good email list.

This definitely helps. But choosing the right niche is also essential.

I get about half of my sales from my list, but that still means I get half without a list.

These will often be people from Facebook who will have seen my adverts several times.

I disagree that you need a list, waste money on ads, or waste time on SEO to make sales in Clickbank.

And it is not even necessary to build relationships first or send out countless warm fuzzies before making a sale.

All you really need is consistent exposure of your offer to targeted eyeballs. That's it.

All I have done for the past two decades is write articles for online/offline publications which included a "resource box" at the end of each article.

In essence, I am using other people's lists for free advertising.

I have not seen anything better or more formidable than this type of marketing (article syndication) for driving massive quantities of highly convertible traffic.

It is so powerful because of the "implied endorsement" which readers perceive of your article and product offer from the publication.

It really can't get any faster, better, or less expensive than that.

I tend to agree that article marketing is a great way to build consistent, highly targeted traffic. And, in my opinion that's half of what it takes to make a sale.

I admittedly don't have a firm grasp of article marketing and would love to learn more about it.

myob, would you care to explain anything about your article marketing strategy? Such as, are you posting to other people's blogs in your niche, or are you posting to places like ezines and having your articles picked up?

My site has a blog, that I post to fairly regularly. I aim for posts between 1,000-2,000 words. But, it seems like the posts get indexed and maybe 1 out of 10 will eventually drive decent traffic. Is there a better way to use content than posting to our blog and hoping google picks it up?

I post comments on niche-relevant blogs and forums as well as write articles for online/offline publications. In addition, I post articles extensively on EZA and then heavily promote this portfolio to prospective publishers.

Being a "Diamond Expert" on EZA does seem laughable to most of us, but to out of circle (the non-IM crowd) it can be a very effective marketing tool.

A third-party achievement recognition level such as this can be the razor's edge for standing out, especially in the most hotly competitive niches.

My strategy has been to never depend upon Google or any other search engine for traffic. My niches face way too much competition to get any traction at all through searches or even PPC.

I found it to be extremely effective just to get right up in people's faces through publications which they are already reading. This method alone drives massive quantities of highly convertible traffic to my sales pages.

A couple of good places to start for finding suitable publications appropriate for your niche(s) is Writers' Market and Magazines.com.

Also, do a search on this forum for Alexa Smith. She has written quite extensively about article syndication as a marketing model.

        Good point Gambino,
I use article marketing as you get very good long term traffic from articles.

One thing that may help other Warriors is that I use document sharing sites such as Scribd and Box.net

These have high page ranks so that your article will have a good chance of appearing at top positions in the Google.

I also pay someone on Fiverr.com as you can get a lot of articles posted to these sites very quickly and cheaply using this method!

The best way to do it is to set up a funnel around the product your promoting connected to your auto responder in order to keep you leads to email later. You then do test solo ads on two different catch pages and pick the one out of those that perform well. Ass for traffic I use solo ads Like udimi or private solo buyers if you know they convert. I also use craigslist unlike some would know. I don't post ads...I go to resumes in different cities and look for people who are looking for work form home opp and message them with a short message asking them to reply and then give them the link in the email after they respond. This is a great free traffic method.

You could hunt for less well known products that solve a specific problem. I did very well with a software product that I found in the marketplace.

A better way to make money with ClickBank is to replace products that have disappeared from the store. I know of two that need replacing. If only I had more time...

Start by changing your focus. It sounds like you are letting the lack of testimonials hold you back and using excuses for not creating great content or doing a few other things you can do to promote your products.

There are literally 100s of ways to promote anything online without the need for much cash. Some are even free.

I would start researching free and cheap ways to promote, figure out what you have to do and create a plan of attack. Then, start promoting like a mad man until you have more money to invest.

      Good point Benjamin,

its always advisable to use free methods to drive traffic first.

You may only receive a fairly small amount of traffic, but after a while you will be able to gauge whether it will be profitable to pay for advertisements.

For instance if you receive 50 page views on your page with no buyers it may not be worth starting paid advertising campaign.

However if you receive 50 page views and you receive 3 sales with commission, then it probably is worth starting a paid advertising campaign.

That's what I loved about Yahoo years ago when they had an auction site.

It was much like Ebay but you could list anything freely.

You could advertise as many things you liked and see how many visitors you received and sales.

Once you started making sales you could advertise the same things on Ebay as a featured item and you were virtually guaranteed to make some great sales and profits!

      Good Idea Virajshah125!
as long as you have permission to email them this could be a winner!

If you are using email marketing you really need an autoresponder with a follow up series at least 7 emails long.

But this is a system proven to work great.

      Hi Cristy,
that's a great strategy that I use all the time.

Facebook is ideal you can set up a facebook page - or what I do is have an internet marketing group and then a facebook page for each product I am offering.

Once you have build up your group members they will see every post you make and the more times they see a post where you are offering your product the more interested they will be in purchasing it.

Facebook is also great for interaction - your members can ask you questions and you can give them the confidence to buy.

If I am interested in purchasing something I usually have a few questions and so I know that when I offer something my prospective customers will feel the same - they want to ask a question and it gives them reassurance when you can reply to them.

You can set up a Facebook campaign like this for no cost, but you can always boost adverts from about $7 to see if something is profitable.

One more thing, when we talk about Facebook interaction, you will notice, that if you want to fully interact with customers, then making a group will be a better idea, but if you want only one sided communication (i.e. from yours) where customers can reply upto a little extent only like telling them about some offers etc. then FB page is a good option.

Both have separate pros and cons.

I also interact my customers on Facebook, but most of the times, I interact on Facebook page, because in that way, I can control how they do the discussion. Like no one can open his own thread like in a FB group.

But on the other hand, where I want to ASK them about their views and feedback, then FB group has upperhand on a FB page.

        Thanks

The best way to find affiliate marketers in your niche and have them promote your offer for you. OF course, you should give the affiliates at least 75% commissions and have a good affiliate program ser up with articles that promote your products, images for blogs, videos that affiliates can include their affiliate link with and the list could go on and on.

One way to find affiliates is to find their websites, and contact them from their contact us page, email support@theirdomain, or go to Alexia to find their contact info- then email them asking if they would like to promote your product.

I would suggest getting Marlon Sanders affiliate dashboard and go through that training if you are serious about having your own affiliate program. This way you will only need to focus on product creation instead of promotions.

Clickbank sales are easy. They are just products. Some vendors equip you with marketing tools - some don't. If you're crafty and can create your own marketing materials to make sales.... then do that. Other than that, see if you can find affiliate programs that have recurring/monthly commissions for each month the customer remains in the product/service. Or... if you can find a high commission affiliate program, promote that for a huge commission. Or if you're great at getting free traffic, then select the best products in the Clickbank marketplace that would be a great fit for your site/blog.

Bottom line... the success doesn't lie in the product, it relies in the marketing. Generate leads, and then followup on them repeatedly on a regular basis until they buy - or die... or unsubscribe.

      Good point Randall,

there are recurring commissions on Clickbank - I usually look for these and have made a lot more with them in the long run than individual sales.

You can also check the total commissions paid on Clickbank and those with recurring commissions often are the highest because of this.

I suggest you build YOU as you are the business. You want to separate yourself from the masses and go the other direction. The masses are competing and for you to stand out and succeed you need to create. So to do this you want to brand yourself. Lead with value and always own the product you are promoting, so you have the moral authority to talk about it with confidence. (People sense if you are just wanting to push a product for $. ) Then start making videos. People follow people and they are more likely to buy from those who they know-like-trust. And instead of sending people to just a product page, have your own optin page (if you don't have yet) and do not make it a sales video about the product. Remember you are branding you. This way you are growing your list of prospects and ultimately raving buyers and fans who will trust what you offer.

      Katja,
I think you have made some really good points.

That is what all of the top marketers do.

They brand themselves and they always give away a lot of free good value information, that they could have sold in products such as ebooks and videos.

After giving so much when they do finally offer something to buy you know it will be of good value.

The best marketers such as Yanik Silver over deliver so that you receive a lot more than you were expecting.

Anthony could brand himself on a Wordpress blog or using Facebook where he could build a good following and do all of the things that you have mentioned.

The eaiest way to get testimonials is to start a WSO
You could offer affiliates a free copy of your product for a testimonial. (Check legal.)
Or you could just write your sales letter without testimonals. I would sell the product for at least $47 and offer affiliates 75% to 100% commissions on the front end of your funnel and 50% on the backend. That would surly get you a bunch of affiliates promoting your product.

      Hello wrcato2,

Yea but I really can't afford to offer a high enough % commission right now to affiliates and, because I really need to make money to pay for my e-mail autoresponder services, and to buy other stuffs, like to buy camtasia the real (not trial version) to create and edit videos. Maybe I can give 50% (but I was thinking of raising the price to $77, or either $58, what do you think, i am not sure that I should market my product to $47).

You can also try free advertising methods if you have little cash to promote your Clickbank products with using Twitter.

I have found Twitter can make some great sales without paying a cent in for visitors:

    This is what I do:

Find something that is trending such as Football or basketball,
then find a product on Clickbank such as a guide that shows how you to improve your skills for either of these sports.

Then use a Bitly link to shorten your affiliate link and make a post on Twitter connected to the trending post - this is a good way to get a lot of free traffic and sales.

Another idea that I use is to see what problems people are searching for a solution to on Twitter and then find a product on Clickbank that fulfils their needs.

For example, people on Twitter may be looking for ways to lose weight, get fitter, get a beach body, make money etc.

If you find people's need like those mentioned above then go to Clickbank and find the relevant answers to their problems then copy the affiliate link into an answer (first shortening it using Bitly) then reply to them mentioning that you have found something that will help solve their problem.

    The list is endless.

You will often find that a lot of people are looking for solutions to the same problems so once you have found a solution to one problem you can save this and Tweet it to others.

Using this method you can soon start to see some solid results.

    Hope this helps.

    Ged.

P.S. You don't need a website for this one either!

What is clear from whay u said is that you need a PLAN

You are in lack of a PLAN

It's not a matter of tools or testimonials, it's a matter of the market strategy you can have:

You have to Build a Brand
You have to choose what type of marketing to build your list
You have to put this marketin into action

    Rinse and repeat.

You strongly need some Coach or Guidance to clarify all this mess.

Yes Quora is excellent for free traffic.

Set up your profile and then choose subjects that you want to answer.

With the answer to your question you can include a link at the bottom to a Clickbank product.

You can also use Twitter to find answers to people's questions and include a link to your Clickbank page.

Try using bing ads.but if you plan on using facebook ads, make sure you use your advertising to create a list or else you might lose money quickly. All these paid ads sites change their metrics sometimes so be careful. As for free traffic ,it will come slow but you can start by creating a youtube video of your product and optimizing it for traffic.

    Thank you,

Hi Anthony, I know it is hard to sell products from ClickBank. But I must say ClickBank is the best place for digital products. Prior to selling have you done your niche and what is the latest people looking for. Without knowing your niche, I think your direction is very vague. I suggest you get the first thing right and the rest would follow. Once you have your niche, find the right products from ClickBank and go to the right place to promote such as FB fan pages and Google content. I hope it helps.

    Hi, Anthony

You can become a partner of some valuable or very useful digital product.

And if it is a worthwhile partner, it will provide you with the necessary tools to promote your product without payment, taking into account your capabilities at the moment.

To get testimonials, offer your product for free to a bunch of people in your niche.
You'll find them on Facebook groups. Just join the group and let people know what you are doing.

My advice is to start an Instagram account and build your list from there (put an optin link in your profile). There several apps that you can use to connect with users in your niche and to repost content from other accounts (if you want). They cost very little/month...

Another way is to start a facebook page and to run ads to get likes (usually very cheap). However, with the new Fb algorithm, you want to make sure what your post reach is...

i failed with over 13 straegies and bad info, until I did LIST building with clickbank.

Once I did listbuilding had my first $100 day, and rest was history, i do a little bit of clickbank stuff nowawday, but at the peak I was doing about $200 dollar days, sitting on my ass doing pretty much nothiing.

    LOL

But it comes down to building a list, offering them cool stuff, or free info, so they end up buying.

There is a process, but the big guys doing massive profits on clickbank, have huge lists, and are driving like 1000 leads a day. I know 2 millionaires doing that, on clickbank alone and crushing it.

EMAIL MARKETING is where you will crush this space. So hope it helps.

If you ask me honestly its really a very broad question as there are plenty of ways to promote it. I would say try out every area of paid marketing and see what you can get good at it

The biggest learnings come from when you are gone to Zero and think of doing something at minimum cost that would give more than 10X in ROI of it not immediately but in times to come.

In Internet Marketing the Best marketers are those who combine their Brain + Action + Consistency + PATIENCE Big time and keep learning.

This is what i have been through honestly speaking but the more I take action combine with learning daily has brought me 1 step closer to my goal

The problem is not how to launch the affiliate setup......the most important thing i find is search the audience first........people start with the product which is wrong......start with audience what they want...........99% of affiliate fail going into wrong directions coz of information overload on you tube and stuff like that......know yur audience and sell your product....simple

You must create an affiliate site then plant backlinks so that your website is indexed.

Then rank the keywords to get organic traffic

The one thing most people in IM don't get to begin with is that it's a long term commitment.

My point is if you're going to make Clickbank work or any other project... you have to invest the time needed to really grow... and again, it takes time.

Like MYOB is saying, you don't necessarily need your own list. (it's a good idea to build one as you go, but...) there are many ways to skin a cat.

Pick your product, write articles, start a blog, set up an autoresponder and collect emails by giving away a valuable report... and spend a LOT of time writing... both content writing and ad copywriting.

    All the best.
