Give customer support to the clients that buy through your affiliate link?

I would love if I can get some insights into this idea.

I'm planning to promote a marketing platform, and as a bonus, I would like to give a tech consultations one on one with me after they purchase it, so that I can help them out with every technical stuff inside that platform, like SMTP integration Payment Gateways etc so that they can quickly onboard.

So I was wondering if that is too much to give, another thing I was thinking of doing is can I automate it meaning I would create an info/training product where I cover the most important tech stuff so that the customer will still be happy.

Every opinion or a critique is welcomed

If you're doing this extra work for nothing it looks like lot of down time for you.

How much money is the affiliate commission paying per sale? Does it compensate for your extra time/work?

Hey, first of all, I would love to thank you very much for taking your time to answer this question.

So, basically, I work for this company, but they have a recurring type and the commission is 40% and the minimum amount that you can be paid is 11$ per a referral monthly.
So I guess that is not enough money or at least I can offer that if they decide to purchase the PRO account which I highly doubt since it is pretty expensive if you ask me 149$ per month.
But yes, thank you for the insight, I would have to think of another bonus or maybe just a one time one on one call where we will discuss the technical stuff there just the initial setup.

  • If you have a following, provide extra content to possible subscriber?

I would only do this if you have other products to pitch them.

Or, provide a monthly subscription to be a direct consultant for them.

    Just thinking out-loud.

Hey Thank you for your insight,
At the moment, I don't really have a product it is still an idea
As for the monthly subscription on a direct consultant that would be awesome, maybe I can do that in the future once I create my product, and basically test all of the beliefs that I have and I would like to see if my ideas work before I could share it with someone.
So thank you for your insight this was very awesome, this is my first time posting here, really didn't hope for this fast and beautiful insight.

Yeah..it may be a great idea, many marketers do that already..offering bonuses to their subs if they join thru their link..it's good to be pre-made and just send them after the purchase.. and if there is any competition make sure you offer more value and better bonuses. Anyway this kind of approach will keep your subscribers happy building a relationship in the same time with them with a high chance to buy more products in the future..

I would cover FAQ's on my blog. Then when clients or customers email with questions, direct them. Customer support is a huge time and energy investment. Save time and energy. Pre-support with a few blog posts.

Make a video or series that covers it, for a bonus. Then you could offer additional support (if they need it) for a small fee.

You may want to consider making your money on the backend and let your affiliates make their money on the frontend. Its a standard marketing practice and there are lots of people doing it on the this very forum as we speak and they will continue to do it when we are not speaking. Isn't IMing a wonderful way to make money, lol.

Affiliates can make a lot of money and in doin so will make you a lot of money. There are many different types of affiliates, but my preferred affiliates sends their "targeted subs" to a "front-end targeted salespage" designed to make sales through their affiliate links and I make sales through backend offers. That model ensures both product owner and affiliates make money when the potential customer actually buys of course.

One way a product owner increases the chance that the affiliate's subs actually buys is to do all of the product support. A lot of power affiliates with targeted subs will get on your affiliate wagon real fast when their investment is low. The trick is to convince your affiliates that you will in fact provide excellent support to their list. Good to keep in mind that their good reputation is on the line in this model. The way to do that is to have a full support program in place to show the affiliates. so they can make an educated decision.

To Loop or not to Loop? The loop is another way to increase sales: increase your own sales, increase affiliate sales, create repeat buyers. This is done on the back-end. It starts with the followup. Target everyone in the loop. Make sure affiliates always have opportunities to offer their lists relevant offers, make sure buyers always have multiple opportunities for relevant offers.Just don't make it an upsale afer upsale game wherein the buyer feels they are being gamed or nickeled and dimed to death. Otherwise, it could very well be the death of your sales. Just don't get greedy!

Providing regular customer support is not an easy feat, OP. I'd go write a FAQ first if I were you. But if you're set on it and your affliate work pays well, maybe you could hire a VA for the job if you have the extra money. It's what I would do--customer service isn't really my forte. And you could save cash too if you hired from an "affordable" country like, say, Malaysia or the Philippines.
