Author writes 3million books a year. The joys of Article Writing and IM Research

Hi all,

This one shows how you have to be careful when "throwing together" blog posts and articles.

While researching in my local library's data base I found a quote that sounded so good it prompted me to do some more research. The quote...

"I can fix a bad page," "I can't fix a blank page."

So I decided to find out more about the originator of those words of wisdom.

The first page I found was an otherwise pretty well written blog post but it reported the author of the quote as writing 3,000,000 books a year. Three Million Books! How could that be possible? I can barely write 3,000,000 articles a year (JK)

Anyway, digging deeper I found that the person works for a publishing company that supposedly has published 3,000,000 books. Still a lot and I don't even think that is true but at least it's a publishing company and not an individual author.

You would think the person who owns that blog would have caught that glaring error before they posted.

It just goes to show that we should proof read our articles and look out for things that just don't ring true.

I also doubt any one company has published 3,000,000 books in one year. Maybe they mean 3,000,000 copies of one book?

Chris, I think you are right. That's got to be it. 3,000,000 books sold of how ever many different titles.

I too questioned the 3 million figure for one company. But when the blog post said that the author wrote 3,000,000 books it made me laugh.

I know I'm one of those people who don't proof-read as well as I should. Thanks for bringing up this (laughable) reminder!
