I get traffic through content marketing and advertising.

Content marketing: Podcasting, guest blogging, Youtube, Facebook and Twitter.

There are so many ways to achieve this. Seo, YouTube, document sharing sites, question and answer sites, and so on.

Using Bing paid ads at this time. Paid traffic is the best way at this time. For the one website that is promoted actively. Also have generated sales using e-bay when the season comes around.

On a older website using just search engine traffic.

Nothing fancy sell more stuff via Amazon sellers account or Ebay but those are not items are not listed on any website.

I haven't tried Bing advertising, but Google Adwords has been pretty good for me. I'll look into Bing though.

    Solo Ads for list building.

Also you have to establish a "you everywhere": people actively search of you in Google when they see your ads, so you have to put also content there, cause they primarly wanna know who you are

    Hello Tod,

Here are three methods I use:

    - Content distribution. If you are a writer/blogger, Medium is a great place to promote your content and build a following.

    - Guest posting. Well known technique. It's straightforward and works.

    - Paid advertising. There's no such thing as 'free' traffic. Either you are paying with your wallet or your time. And paying with your wallet can free up your time to work on other parts of your website (like conversion, creating products, etc.).

There was no link that I could see, didn't show up or not allowed to post?

But do you have your own products or an affiliate of other products on your site?

It was mentioned before but to drive it home, there is no "free" traffic, you spend your time or your money, which ever you have more off and can afford to lose when you are getting started...

I promote my website with FB ads, SEO, targeted keywords in other pay per click ads just driving high volume of "clicks" to my pages...

But I also promote my website thru my email signatures, solo ads and email follow ups to the list that I build from those solo ads...

Guest blogging if you are a good writer or you want to pay someone to write for you...

YouTube channel linking back to your site, with talking head or just slide shows will work...

Promoting your website is just that doing promotions all over the internet and in the "real" world as well, depending on your niche, people just have to be made aware on any and all levels...

For example my biggest exposure came from when I made my own information product and launched it and recruited JVs or affiliates to sell it for me...

I built an audience of buyers and a following in a FB group that continues to grow as I release new products and information to that FB group and link back to my website...

  • I always do reverse engineering for top sites on my niche and use SimilarWeb tool to get a glimpse of the site's traffic and traffic sources. Based from that data, I create my marketing campaign, taking note of the site's content too.

    1. Facebook (is the platform of the moment) as you can get some good targetted traffic with a small budget
    2. Youtube (also with a small budget using youtube ads)
    3. Solo ads (depending on the quality of the traffic you can get some good conversions)

What do you mean by promoting? Does it mean driving more traffic?
My method is simply joining groups, connecting with more people, then share some helpful tips about marketing. Then people will click on reading my posts. While they're reading my posts, there will be a lead magnet, and they will enter emails to download the lead magnet. Then I will follow-up with them by series of emails.

Genuine blog commenting, guest posting and promoting other bloggers on social media and on my blog. Fab ways to keep traffic and eBook awareness humming along. Promoting other bloggers or entrepreneurs is key; give heaps, make friends, then a ton of folks promote you and your site around the clock. power of networking wins every time.
