Building buyers list when you have a recurring product?

Hey all

Just wondering how you all would get around this...

I will be soon launching a product, that people will be paying 47 bucks a month for. Obviously I want to build a proven buyers list from this.

However - When someone cancels their subscription to the service by paypal, I want to stop their content reaching them via aweber's automated monthly mailouts, but still keep them in aweber for future projects.

Any ideas on this stopping their content without deleting them from aweber?

Thanks

Simon

  • You would have to build two different aweber lists. One for sending out the content and another for say, sending out emails and information.

That's what I do with my article site. I have one opt in form that gets you the content and another that gets you emails from me. Only way I can think of.

    I hope that helps.

Hey, thanks for the information, but is there a way of doing this without making them opt in twice???

    Thanks

look under GLOBAL settings and AUTOMATION. The automation has the ability to automatically unsubscribe users who subscribe to another list.

By playing around with this function and using a couple of different lists, you may be able to accomplish it.

This is one of the MAJOR advantages of 1shoppingcart!

Once people have opted in to your list and confirmed, you're free to add and subtract them from any lists you like. So this would be a piece of cake.

In fact, buyers are automatically vetted and they won't even have to confirm for you to be able to send them stuff. Apparently the fact that they have bought something from you is good enough. I was pleasantly surprised to have figured this out.

I was always worried... what if someone buys something from me and is too distracted to confirm their email...

Another 1shop perk -- unlike Aweber, they won't count people who subscribe to multiple lists as multiple people.

On the negative side, you can only do recurring subscription through 1shoppingcart if you have a "real" merchant account, so that I run mine through PayPal directly, and still have to add the subscribers by hand.
