Have Ad-blockers Made Adense Income Too Hard?

I'm looking to make a conscious effort to build a niche site. I have a day job but if I can commit an hour an evening and a few hours on the weekend I think I will hopefully stick to a decent schedule and progress this over the coming months.
Whilst I learn whether the site is any sort of success I was going to hopefully generate some Adsense revenue. But was wondering if Ad-blockers take out AdSense adverts too? If so, the earnings must be pretty bad these days? I know AdSense is unlikely to ever be a mega money maker but is it a wasted effort now?
