Is it worth adding a chat bot to your index?

I see on a lot of sites that are basically set up as sales letters (ie: clickbank type sites) they'll all adding 2 things:

1) the botton right that chat bot that looks like a live operator is saying hi. ie: hellotars

2) the bottom left the convertproof or something that looks like a bunch of people are visiting or have visited. It's like an app that makes it look like there's a crowd of people, popping in and out of the site.

In your opinion are these types of products worth adding?

Also do you know of any 100% free versions of these types of things? Especially the chat bot? I'm not keen on buying any of these types of things these days. Most of them want a monthly fee as well which, I don't feel is a good deal.

You would need to split test to confirm if it's profitable for you. In most cases people wouldn't use them if they didn't help.

Then you've answered your own question, haven't you?

ANY tool is only worth what you're willing to pay for it, in this case... $zero.

BTW, I happen to agree with you

    Hi Nina,

They are not essential but highly recommended.

And what do I mean by that?

    1. First chatbots are designed to answer any queries and even doubts prospects may have about the products and services the site is offering.

Though traditional support desks can still do the same, they may take some time and not being able to handle too many queries at a time.

    2. It may be true. It may also be false. But whichever, marketers are doing this to show just how popular their products and services are.

If you want test a chatbot you can always use a messenger link and see if anyone uses it.

You can use the m.me link details here--->
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/discovery/m-me-links

FB has a customer chat plugin in beta - you can find the details linked from the developers page above also.

You could either answer the chat or try out the free version of manychat to establish a chatbot.

    As for the value.

I've used an AI type chatbot with limited results but the results did show us we needed to incorporate live chat to a couple of our sites.

Livechat has been working well for us but we have experienced sales people answering the chat enquiries and these are delivering good results.

A few things you would have to consider are:

If people are happy being anonymous as they can be with a prompted chat say via Zopim -Zendesk chat or Olark the leading providers. Will they still interact if they have to initiate a chat using messenger where their identity is revealed from the get go?

Chat bots can be good at delivering some content and lead capture in various situations.

Facebook ads to messenger can be cost effective currently.

I would suggest you take a look at the free training manychat has that they developed with Molly Pitman, formerly of Digital marketer, as it may help you with designing an appropriate bot if you want to test one and they have a free option with some limitations.

Just having a bot is not going to help with conversions without having the skills to design an appropriate sequence for a specific situation and if you do develop a bot you will most likely still need to know when to hand the prospect off to a real individual.

Copywriting for bot conversations is a skill in its own right as it the timing of promotions if using FB messenger to deliver the chat.

    Best regards,

    Ozi

I would prefer first one. Yes, there are free ones, but not worth to use them.

I'm not a big fan of either application.

Chatbots have their place, but most of them are so poorly programmed that I believe they do more harm than good. Free or paid, you aren't going to find one that just works out of the box.

As for those fake activity apps, the idea is as old as the commercial web. Even back in the 1990s, when I got started online, people were using animated gifs of visitor counters to fool people into thinking the page was popular. Do they work? As the saying goes, you can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time.

The down side is that if/when people realize that the activity app is a fake, your trust level takes a huge hit.

A chat bot can be pretty profitable when used correctly. Furthermore, you can also add a chat box with a real person attending your users. Such thing, be it in e-commerce or affiliate websites, can be excellent for increasing conversions. For example, this ecommerce customer support software by Kayako is one of the most popular solutions coupled with their live chat, because they make it easier for handling customers' questions, request and all in all, bring them a good and nice experience.

Using it in e-commerce shops or affiliate websites will have nice results, because in the end, you are attending clients and they deserve the best support you can bring them.

According to Global Web Index statistics, it is said that 75% of internet users are adopting one or more messenger platforms. Although research shows us that each user makes use of an average of 24 apps a month, wherein 80% of the time would be in just 5 apps. This means you can hardly shoot ahead with an app, but you still have high chances to integrate your chatbot with one of these platforms.
Now lets go through some of the benefits that chatbots provide:
    1) Available 24*7
    2) Handling Customers
    3) Helps you Save Money
    4) Provides 100% satisfaction to customers
    5) Personal Assistant

You should add a direct chat program where customers can reach you 24/7 so that you can answer any and all questions immediately.

Are you giving your products away for free? Why should anyone else? I think you need to develop a healthy respect for what makes the world go round. It will help you to understand just how business actually works in the real world.
