How is it possible that people make more than $100 dollars a month through affiliate marketing?
I have been promoting products through my website and it has gained traction. I see posts where people are making way more than that by a one shot and it just is not clear to me how they do it. Any help?

Mostly through building an email list of subscribers who are interested in your niche.

Use the email list to deliver value, to built trust and demonstrate authority.

If you know what specific problem they need help with, you'll be able to offer the right solutions.

The numbers work something like this, for simplicity let's say you get 100 website visitors per day...

    I'll keep the numbers conservative.

If 20 join the mailing list, that gives you a 20% opt-in rate
And 2 people make a purchase... that is a 2% conversion rate

There's a bunch of variables; product price, your commission rate, lead acquisition costs, etc, but you get the idea.

That's how people make more than $100 dollars a month; knowing their audience, and knowing their numbers.

      No, not mostly.

Nobody needs an email list to make money online.

...and $100 a month is nothing.

When I first started promoting affiliate offers I was making $1,000 a month without an email list. And I didn't have a clue what I was doing, I just had enough traffic who'd click on banner ads and buy stuff.

But guess what happened when I started building an email list? New house! New shit! Wooo!

What was it like when you first started? and other than email marketing where did most of your results come from? What were your top 3 mistakes?

  • There are dozens, if not hundreds/thousands of ways to generate $100/month online. If you break it down in a 31 day month that's only $.31 a day. You can easily exceed that by doing a couple gigs a week on Fiverr/UpWork (although it's not very scalable).

So looking at it from a very top level view, it depends on what you are willing to invest: either time or money.

If you don't have much money but can dedicate time there are tons of things you can do: build review sites focusing on SEO ranking, create video reviews, offer copywriting services, create information products, virtual assistant services, etc.

On the other hand, if you have a budget you can start getting into paid traffic through Google/Bing, Facebook, Native, etc. You still have to create, test, and optimize but it's not quite as time intensive. A larger budget will always be better, but if you know the correct techniques you can be profitable for under $100 in spend.

At the end of the day, it's all about providing value. If you can provide value to others by helping them make money, or making their lives/business easier the money will always follow.

In case of affiliate marketing, reach is very important. You can share revenue with bloggers and put your affiliate links in their product description, post on your own blog, share where genuine info is required etc. It just takes time for you to build your online presence with affiliate links. Then it is easy money.

The best way is to have a very successful blog. Choose a niche whch is not crowded.

I'm with Michael...build an email list.

I will, however, admit that I'm biased when it comes to email, as it's how I've been so successful.

With a list, you can promote additional offers and follow up at very little cost until a user unsubscribes or becomes unresponsive (stops opening your mail).

    It's hard to beat!

    Also, what are you promoting?

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead) offers because there's no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates tend to be much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

    Something to think about.

Im in the soccer niche and it has been difficult to get people to get on my email list. I have been promoting amazon products on my website. The hard part is giving people an incentive to get on my email list because i haven't had any bright ideas yet. Im looking to promote training courses in the near future and using that as my core product or service while the shop can just add leverage.

    In order to make money online $1, $10, $100 or, $10,00,000 ...
Either you need to invest money or, your Experience

If you're totally a newbie, don't have any experience on creating websites, marketing etc. I would suggest you to get a ready made business from WSO.

Here are some ideas for you that can cross your $100/ month outline:
    - Create YouTube videos & Run adsense on it
    - Promote CPA Offers through YouTube
    - Rewrite various Methods on traffic & sell it on Forums
    - Create blogs on any niche, hire somebody for SEO
    - Hire somebody to write you articles, create blog & make money from Adsense

Actually there are thousands of methods you can get started with. but going with any of the methods above will be easy for you!

It's a process. It takes time to learn the skills. A hundred bucks is nothing for some marketers but it can seem almost impossible for some new people. Patience and lots of persistence.

      Absolutely! Agreed with Rory Singh.

I would suggest anybody new in marketing to learn the ground before investing on it. First invest time then invest money to get returns.

$100 a month isn't much at all. build an audience then tailor your offering to that audience. I've found lots of luck with saas businesses - particularly email marketing where I can get 30% revenue on everyone recommended. Schemes like Convert Kit or Email Octopus have been pretty succesful alongside a free email course.

  • Easiest way is to find a product that is converting (quality with high demand), and costs about $250-$300. If the commission is 50% you will get $125-$150 back.

You then use Facebook ad(s) to run to the sales page (affiliate link) that cost $25-$50 and month.

You than make $75-$100 a month.

This is the easiest way, not the greatest for long term.

    1) First of all, you'll need a blog.
    2) Now create a eBook for your blog.
    3) After creating eBook, it's time to create a landing page for your blog.

don't forget: the money = the list of your visitors emails.

Yes it is possible because it will depends on your ranking. If your site get top rank then you will get more visitor. When a visitor entered into your website and buy a product then you will get the commission for that sale. If you make your site by using some technical terms then you will achieve adsence money also.

Dig out your calculator and run the math again.

$100 in 31 days is $3.23 per day, not 31 cents.

After the various freelancer sites take their cut, you pretty much have to do a gig a day, especially looking at Fiverr. Which is even less scalable.

There are really only three ways to make more money...

    > Sell to more customers
    > Sell to each customer more often
    > Get each customer to spend more on each order

The good news is that each improvement compounds. Just a small improvement in each area makes a large difference in your bottom line.

Maybe products you promote and your audience aren't a match. Since you already have an audience, get to know them, their problems and then do a research on the products or services that can help them.

Selecting a niche is now always easy but it's worth spending a bit of time on research. An ideal niche for affiliate marketing would have a heavy demand for the products, high-income potentials (people willing to pay for a solution to their problems), products and services available to promote (check if they have affiliate programs) and few strong competitors.

If you can figure this out you are set...After you figure out how to make $100, your next task is to scale.

My big breakthrough was when I made my first $1000 a month, which I did through a recurring payment setup. In my case, I collected 20-30 dollars a month from people on a subscription basis, then added an incentive for people to promote out via an affiliate program.

How much time are you putting into advertising your website? What is your niche for your website? Working as an affiliate you need to have traffic in order to get any commissions from affiliate sales.
