GDPR and double opt-in

i was just curious

should all email captures pages be double opt-in now, so that customers can manually confirm that they are requesting the information ?

    It talks about a checkbox or a double opt-in. Then it says you can have the best of both worlds by using Geo Targeting to have double opt-ins only for EU visitors and Single Opt-in for everyone else.

    Of course not every tool will have these options. I've noticed some WP plugins have a "Turn Off EU" option, meaning we in the EU won't see many US sites and other great sites.

    I hope it won't come to that. Many people outside the EU think it doesn't affect them. But once they realise it does, they might go for the easy option of just eliminating us all!
