Can You Recommend Free Video Hosting Service? Not YouTube.

Other than YouTube, I was wondering if you guys can recommend a free video hosting service. I specifically want to post short live jazz gig video clips for pitching to agents, and I most definitely don't want to use YouTube. I will appreciate your recommendations.

Have you considered your own hosting? Or AWS? Or a Google search?

If I am correct (I may be wrong), but I think soundcloud hosts your videos for free. And the platform was designed to get exposure to artists.

Come to think about it, I think I did come across such a feature on SoundCloud recently but it didn't quite register. I suppose because at the time, I wasn't looking for video hosting. I'll take another look. Many thanks!

    Host it yourself.

It's short videos and my guess is you won't have much traffic (bandwidth) because you're only targeting potential clients. Less than a dozen video views a week?

Buy a 2nd hosting account ($10), upload the videos to the 2nd host and then change the Cpanel settings on the 2nd host to only allow the videos to be accessed on both the 1st and 2nd host/sites.

This way your main site (1st host) will never have a problem with bandwidth and the site will always be online. Just a safety net. Again, doubt you'll use much bandwidth.

Out of curiosity, why don't you want to use YouTube?

I looked into SoundCloud. Nothing there. MusicClout, however, does have a video option but you can only load code on there not the actual video. Which means I would need a host to begin.

The reason why I don't want to use YouTube is because I already have a music-related channel there and I don't want to mix the two... and neither do I want to open another account/channel. And besides, this is for a very specific purpose and not for public consumption.

      Thanks for responding...

Obviously it's your decision, but I don't see the difference between opening a new account with a different service and creating a new channel on Youtube. Also, Youtube has unlisted and private settings which prevents the public from being able to view the videos.

    Metacafe and Soundcloud are good.

But why don't you use your hosting services if you want to keep them intimately?

    Check Greengeeks.

Thanks. I've decided to try Metacafe. It looks good. Thanks again.

No takers for Dailymotion ? A lot of game play video publishers switched to it for better returns than YouTube. Apps like Joomla used to support Vimeo, Dailymotion etc
